The water in the swim zone is shallow enough so little kids can relax and be safe. There are lots of minnows to catch in the water along with decent sized fish in the boat doc area. The only things I have some concern about is all of the children that are little and unwatched and zooming around while cars are driving. I know that is not this places fault but if you bring little children you should definitely watch them. Also, quiet time is at 10:00; the kids are still out running and screaming at that time. I feel like more of the parent supervision should be emphasized more but otherwise great place! Really well maintained and yes the campsites are a little small but it's super cozy and really a great trip to go on and relax.

I felt safer here then any other campground. The energy here was so positive in many ways. They have the cutest little cabins right on the lake! This place has it all! I arrived super early and went to check in knowing there was a big probability I wouldn't be able to get into my room yet. Fortunately, the lady was super accommodating and checked me into a room that was ready. The room is super tiny but it was all I needed since I spent most of my time out exploring. The room was clean and furnished properly and had all the items I could possibly need. The bathroom and shower were small but clean and all of your towels and linens are provided. This location is extremely convenient and legit a 30 second walk from Lake McDonald. The views are spectacular. Each room had a designated parking spot right out front. That was great because I did come and go several times from restaurants and hiking. Due to COVID they are not coming into your room each day to clean but will happily provide you any additional items upon request. I only stayed for two nights so I did not have to request anything. I sent out a few post cards during my stay and the front desk was able to mail them out for me. You are in walking distance to several shops, Eddie's Cafe, water sport rentals and several hiking trails. The price was very reasonable when I booked. I can't wait until the day I can go back again!

But. We were awakened every morning at 630 by the construction next door. the shower didn't drain and required a maintenance visit. the suite is built directly over Eddie's Cafe and whatever they cooked we could smell...every truck delivery was clearly audible in our suite as was every shower taken by our neighbors. At $600 a night this is unacceptable. Staff was nice and offered a 10% discount but we won't stay again...try themselves directly on the Lake!

I can accept the price raise from a few years ago, but I can't accept the underlying racist attitude. I genuinely try to have a positive attitude with everyone, and this lady was so rude. I observed as other families came in, that happened to be a different skin tone than me and the attitude was extremely friendly with them. Additionally, the amount of signs everywhere.. just felt so unwelcoming, if you don't want anyone to enjoy and be comfortable in your "vortex", skip the do not do this signs, and just close down. As I walked through the shop, I had never been so watched in my life. Not that had any intention of taking anything, but I felt so uncomfortable by this lady already on the few interactions we had. Additionally, I got there early before my tour and had asked if I could have the Wi-Fi password as I had a couple things to do for work while I was waiting. Instead of the lady just telling me didn't have it or she couldn't give it out, she implied that I was going to steal the credit card information off of her machine if I have the Wi-Fi password. Not only is this a poorly educated assumption, but it's extremely rude. How is a place that values themselves in science and new theories going to act so ignorant.

It was nice to walk around the property and walk up to the pond. The people who run the place were great! We even had our fridge go out on us and they had an RV repair guy to call. They were very helpful! The location is great! I highly recommended bringing your own food and grilling out since most of the restaurants and bars around are not the best. The campfire meals is such a great experience at this place too. Plan ahead for your trip into Glacier National Park and make sure you have all your driving passes and day passes to where ever your going. Or make plans to go into the park after 3pm when it doesn't require passes. There is so much to do in Glacier that this is a great place to stay for exploring the West Side! Then it started raining. Then it hailed!!! Karl did say this part of the park is more of a rainforest so that explains why it rained. I wish we'd had done these tours in some of the other parks but now we know for the future. This is a great way to see part of the park without driving or hiking.

By the time we went outside, the dogs were excited, and happy to greet us, and get ready to go. They're smart dogs and love their job. Ice capped peaks as far as the eye can see, some glaciers, lakes a waterfalls can be viewed. Easily one of the top helicopter rides we've been on. The reservation process is a bit tricky and played by ear. You get an initial confirmation then a second confirmation the night before. We were able to book the day before and they were very accommodating. The weather is highly variable in Glacier Park and understandably they may have to cancel depending on the weather. However it worked out for us.

Our pilot was amazing, knowledgeable, and didn't take risks (which I appreciated!). We did the one hour tour, I think the half hour would be way too short. We were so happy to see the glaciers, waterfalls and other sights you just cannot get to in the park. We had no problems with our reservation, or the directions for getting there. If the weather is bad, they will cancel for safety reasons, so we were blessed with beautiful weather. A must do.
