I contracted this company through my Home Warranty, AHS, back in March because the garage door opener died. AHS doest cover soci came out of pocket for a new Garage door opener, fine I suppose. Fast forward to June, torsion spring breaks on my garage, flash comes back out via AHS. Fixes the torsion spring. 4 days later my garage door completely breaks, meaning one side came completely off the track, cables snap, it was a mess. Now...I know the saying correlation does not equal causation but this looks highly suspicious, like maybe the tech missed something after repairing the torsion spring? In any case the tech tells my wife we need a new door $4800, but hey heres an $800 discount basically got my money back from the March garage door opener replacement and if you want the tech to try to get the garage door down gotta pay us $1900(we live in an HOA and can't keep our garage door open for an extended period of time, but who would want to?) Not super thrilled with the experience so far and they're claiming no responsibility for the garage door collapse. read more

These folks are not trustworthy. They came out through the warranty service for a broken spring. The fixer said I would need new rollers and a bearings in addition to the spring covered by warranty. My garage door was extremely loud so I was interested in getting the additions. He quoted me $500 for new rollers and a couple of bearings. I told him to go ahead and fix the spring and the additions ( rollers and bearing). While he was doing the work I researched rollers. You can buy them on Amazon or at Home Depot for $25 . I told the gentleman that I thought he was ripping me off. He talked to someone and came back with $200 off the $500 estimate which tells you right there what was going on. Even with that discount the price was still high. I told him I caught him cheating. He gave me some line of crap but wouldn't even look at me after that. I told him I would pay him the $300 because I told him to do the work but I knew he was still ripping me off. On top of everything else when the fixer had finished and left , my garage door did not work. This means he never even checked his work. It was just the laser alignment which he fixed in 3 seconds. He finished in less than 10 minutes, which is not acceptable for what should be a full inspection and maintenance service. A proper tune-up should include checking rollers, springs, cables, tracks, safety sensors, lubrication, and balance testing. None of this was explained or demonstrated, and I felt the service was rushed and dishonest. This reflects poorly not only on the technician but on the company as a whole. Jimmy with Flash Garage Door called ahead before arriving, which was greatly appreciated. He quickly diagnosed the garage door issues and demonstrated his expertise with over 15 years of experience. He efficiently replaced the end bearings (pair) and the torsion spring. He also offered a generous $50 discount on the $245 end-bearing replacement, bringing the total to $195. As a helpful reminder, we did the right thing by not attempting to fix the garage door ourselves after it stopped working. Instead, we simply unplugged the opener, called on Friday, and secured an appointment early on Monday. Jimmy also provided valuable maintenance tips. Only lubricate the hinges, including the middle ones, using a proper garage door lubricant--never WD-40. Do not lubricate the torsion springs or the opener chain. Had Flash Garage Door replace the broken spring on my garage door in March 2025, they responded the same day and repaired the door. They did a pretty good job, which took about an hour. But, I had to make adjustments to the door to restore the smooth operation without hitting one of the brackets, which had been tightened down to hold the spring rod. I volunteered to resolve that problem to avoid even higher charges for their service. However, their price was $100 more than 2 other local companies, who get better reviews. Because this was an emergency (could not open the door to remove car) - I did not obtain competitive quotes before retaining them to do the work - which was my mistake. While the repairman was completing the work, I contacted Lindsey Garage Door and Experts Garage Door for quotes. They both estimated their full price to be $100 less than the price Flash charged me of almost $600. And, they indicated they could complete the work that day. I also got prices of the replacement springs online for the same quality springs of about half the price of the Flash Door price of about $350+ for the pair. Many service providers (HVAC, electricians, plumbers, etc.) in the DFW area "take advantage" of their customers, especially for urgent services. This is not the first time this has happened to us. Had it also happen with HVAC and plumbing contractors. So... always... obtain quick competitive quotes and references online - before you retain service providers. Most want to send a technician out before doing so - but - if you persist you'll still get a rough quote on the phone - as I was able to. I would like to join others who rated this company a 1 star. I would like to give them no stars. AHS sent this company to my house. Worse experience ever. The worker, I refuse to give him the title of technician, told me they don't give discounts because parts are already cheap. I am a senior and a veteran. When I called the office a manager said yes we give discounts to seniors and veterans. This became an argument with the worker who tried to back track on what he originally told me. Said he told me they give discounts. Terrible customer service by the worker and manager. He installed the new springs and did no adjustments to ensure there were no gaps on the bottom of the garage door. I knew the worker was going to do a half job because he was upset that I called the office. I ended up calling the police on the worker because he was trying to force his way on my property because I was not going to pay the company until they fixed the issue. I ended up telling the worker to remove the springs and get off my property. I have been with AHS for over 8 years and this is the first time I have had an issue with a vendor. Everything about this company is terrible to include the work and the customer service. After my interaction to the worker lies and the manager's attitude, they wanted to shift the blame on me. All of the customers that rated this business with a 1 star can not be wrong. The common denominator is the worthless work this company is performing on garages and their attitude towards customers. This company lacks communication and has horrible customer service skills. The technician installed my garage door around Christmas eve. He finished the job after midnight. He told me that he could not tell if my garage was completely let down because it was dark outside. He said if it's not then I could just do it myself. I called the company for them to come out and check on the work that was done because I could see a light. The manager "Amy" laughed a few times, told me she had a hard week and was Very rude all while saying they rightfully charged my senior mother 90 bucks just to come out and say another was wrong. A follow up on a job completed by the company should not come at a cost. Amy was very unprofessional and I will never again recommend this company. They will not allow you you to escalate the phone call to a higher manager. Also the garage came with scratches from transporting. Find another company if you're looking for a repair or replacement. Sam with Flash Garage showed up at my house to walk into my garage and immediately told me that the cables were off track and that was not covered by the home warranty but they could repair it for $350.00 (with a $100 discount included in that price). I asked how long the repair took and he said 30 minutes. I paid an $85 service fee for him to come and tell me it was not covered. I should have been diagnosed over the phone to let me know this repair was not covered. I only used this company because they contracted with my home warranty service. There service was not just bad, it was dangerous. Their work was guaranteed for 30 days after installing a new garage door opener. Only after 45 days did the bolt the installer used to hold the garage door to the lifting chain come undone and the door crashed to the ground damaging the door significantly. Had one of my pets or grandkids been under the door they would have been killed. As you can see there are three bolts in the arm that attaches the door to the chain that pulls the door open. Two of those bolts, the one on top and the one near the door have the cotter pins that should be installed. However, the guy must have lost the third bolt because he put in a normal bolt and nut, and since the nut couldn't be tight or the arm wouldn't pivot as it goes up, after about 30 or so trips up and down, bing, it fell out and the door came crashing down. What you see in the picture is the bolt I put in, with appropriate cotter pin. The final straw is that when I called them to tell them they had installed the door improperly, they said they would be more than happy to come out and look at for $89. I declined. My American Home Shield warranty wouldn't do anything since it was past the 30 days. REALLY bad service all the way around, but this company's install was the worst - it was potently deadly. Also, you might note that there are bunch of clearly fake five star ratings, a sure sign of a company that doesn't do good service. Look at how many one star ratings they have. That is the real measure of how bad this company is. read more

Flash Garage Door came out on an American Home Shield warranty call. The door was off the track which apparently AHS does not cover, that's another rip-off story for another day. However, Flash even after having been paid $125 for the call-out fee from AHS put the door back on the track which took exactly 16 minutes (I timed it) for which they charged me $389. So, altogether I ended up paying over $500 for 16 minutes of work. Upon calling around I find that the average price for this is $145. I feel they took advantage of me because they KNEW I was leaving the country and I clearly could not leave my garage door open and did not have time to wait to get it fixed by a more reputable company. Very disappointing experience with Flash Garage Doors. I do not recommend them. read more

Our home warranty sent this company out. Mind you they have always sent a different company but for some reason told us "they aren't on the list for our area" so they used Flash Garage Door Service. The garage door was going up half way then stopping, we'd push the button to put it down then it would go up all the way. The chain needed adjusting which is always the problem. Well this guy, I have no clue who he is because I wasn't home and of course his name isn't on the invoice I received, but this guy put a piece of black tape on the track where the door was stopping. Said the wire and chain were getting stuck there. A PIECE OF BLACK TAPE. Literally a black band aid. Husband called the company and they said "is the door working?" Yes. "Then it's fixed". WHAT!!! They didn't FIX the problem them put a band aid on it. Home warranty company said the exact same thing. Wow. This is what customer service is coming down to? The tech must be pretty proud of himself, climbing that ladder and putting a piece of black tape on the track and calling it fixed. What effort he put into his job. That's some customer service.
