Air Care got back to me quickly and said they could come by on Monday between 9-11. There was one company that replied over the weekend but they had no reviews, so I didn't engage with them. Come Monday, Air Care was a no show, no call by 11:30. I called them and talked to Josh. He apologized and said their system didn't let them know I had an appointment. I knew I was texting with AI up to that point, so I accepted his apology. He told me they would have someone out between noon and 2. The technician showed up 20 minutes later and had the bad capacitor replaced and the spring service done in 20 minutes. Air Care came through in the end and got out A/C working again. Timothy and Scott arrived on time as scheduled and fully explained the incorrect method the garbage disposal was installed which is no surprise. Been in this house 9 months and the previous owner did everything DIY. The drain from the sink to the basement was not correct after due to an oversize sink being installed and properly aligned(previous owner). Tim and Scott installed a new drain, repositioned the garbage disposal and new pvc, tubing, etc. They were very professional, personable and explained everything in layman's terms. Very fair pricing. What actually happened:* My preparer missed several items for example: They never filed either of my state taxes.* Despite agreeing to finish by February, the paperwork was delayed, and I had to follow up repeatedly.* Communication was unclear: I received vague answers to my questions, and at one point was told "it's done" when it clearly wasn't .* Because of the delay/errors, I faced extra stress (and possibly extra cost) when dealing with the [IRS/State tax agency]. Why this matters:When you use a professional tax preparer, you expect accuracy, timeliness, and trust. My experience failed onall three. I ended up spending more of my own time (and worry) trying to correct or clarify things that I had hoped would be handled properly. What should change / what I suggest:* Better double‑checking of forms and calculations before the client signs off.* More transparent communication: if there is a delay or a problem, it should be communicated proactively.* A clear checklist shared with the client so both sides know exactly what documents are needed, what has been done, and what is still pending. Only charging what we agreed on, and not changing the amount for filling, that never happened.
