I flagged cab in Chicago, Halstead street. Driver asked where I was going before I got in car. Then when I mentioned my neighborhood, be quoted me a cost. Not wanting to go by meter!!! $45 for a trip that is usually less than $20. Cab1774 today 8/6 about 12:30 am. Unbelievable. I said no read more

This review wouldn't allow me to give a "No Star" review, but that's what Flash Cab deserves! My husband & I first decided to use them after arriving at Midway Airport after midnight. We've not gotten the hang of using Uber & Lyft and they prices rise after a certain time. Flash Cab was waiting at the airport taxi stand - old school style. We loved it & decided to use them on our next trip. The day before our next trip we scheduled a ride to the airport. I guess they showed up but they didn't call to let us know they were there - so they left. We called & were told that another would be sent. Long story short - we missed our flight. When they finally called to tell us they didn't have a cab to send,  we'd already missed our flight. Fortunately, Southwest was extremely accommodating & put us on another flight. This was the worst experience EVER! If you're trying to get ANYWHERE, DO NOT CONTACT FLASH CAB!! read more

Flash USED to be the epitome of professionals. Clean cabs, well spoken drivers, classical music. Not anymore. Currently in my last Flash cab, mind you I have been taking them for 30 years, not my first rodeo. Driver stinks, like pot? Sweat?? actually said NO when I told him my preferred route.. ( I said...I do this EVERY day, let me out then)..and now he is angrily hitting the breaks and talking on his phone. Would he have told a MAN that he didn't want to take that route? Doubtful. Uber here I come. read more

If it were possible to give 0 stars, that's what they'd get. Two times in a row now my ride canceled with no reason why, causing me to have to cancel and reschedule needed medical appointments. it was obviously about the money because it was a short ride. God forbid someone should do the right thing and take a short ride. I will never, ever, do business with these morons again and will recommend to my friends that they never use Flash Cab either. read more

Treated me a senior with a disability with disregard. Flash Cab had a reputation as the best over the years and I used them often. During the past year or so, the service has become totally unreliable. At that time they replaced their computer with a new one that works only if you're lucky. When you give instructions to the computer, it gets addresses and names wrong. For some reason, they have done nothing to remedy it. THE DRIVERS ARE GREAT! IT'S THE COMPUTER THAT RUINS THE SERVICE. APPARENTLY THE PERSON IN CHARGE REFUSES TO GET A NEW COMPUTER OR GET IT REPAIRED. I loved Flash Cab, but I have had to leave them. Last week was the end. I had called them for three different trips, all of which were important and time sensitive. The first time I waited a total of 2 hours--I kept calling, and they could not get the car to me! It happened again when I was due to give a speech and barely got there after begging them to get me a car. The third trip was similar to the first one---almost two hours wait. I called numerous times. I spoke with someone there and referred to the other two disasters. The person said she had no record of the first 2 problems. i gave them 2 stars only because the drivers are great. I feel sorry for them. But that doesn't help when the the system doesn't give them accurate information. read more

Flash cab is nice because they offer a fixed price which is very competitive. However, some drivers arrive late and have no idea how to get to your destination, even common ones like the airport. Worse yet, the Dispatcher will LIE to you about how long before the driver shows up. My driver was 50 MINUTES LATE - the dispatcher told me he would be there in 15-20 minutes. So I cannot recommend Flash Cab or UNIVERSAL Cab as they are not Honest about timing and in my case, I was VERY LATE for my meeting. read more

I just had a wonderful experience with a Flash taxi-cab driver (no. 5324)--I realized 5 minutes in the trip that I only had $9 in cash on me (having neglected, stupid me, to bring my credit card). I doubted whether I could cover the fare; I suggested he drop me off at the next stop. Instead, this really kind driver brought me to my destination. I was on time, thanks to him. I'd have otherwise missed my meeting. I learned my lesson: collect scattered belongings! But in the meantime, what a kind & understanding person! read more

I make enough calls in my daily life. So, If I can avoid making a call for a service (i.e. delivery, cabs, salon) and can go the online route, I'm all for it! Flash Cab makes hailing a cab easy peasy. Go to their site (http://www.flashcab.com/default.aspx), enter the time of pick-up (now or future), present address, and destination. You can also choose to pay in advance with a credit card or in cab with cash/credit card. The best part is you can opt to have a text sent to you when they dispatch and arrive. Cool, huh? Give 'em a go... I've had nothing but on-time pick-ups. And without the headache! read more

Ok, so they do online booking now...and it like, works. My car is on the fritz I think :::sob:::. I didn't want to chance a breakdown on 55 this morning en route to Midway for an early morning flight, so I decided to cab it. I don't like just waving around frantically between the hours of 6am and 9am. So I order one... 1. Book Online. 2. They send you an email. 3. They then CALL to confirm. 4. The cab showed up 15 minutes early. I arrived in one piece. Not bad. read more

Ahem. Flash Cab. When I call you at 6am from the intersection of Somewhere Near My Friends House and A Sketchy Part Of Town, I ask for only a few things. 1) I am at an intersection. When you make me search for the address of the laundromat I am standing next to, it makes me feel like a ho who has just had a one night stand instead of someone who crashed at a friend's place and desperately needs to get home and shower before she heads to work. Don't make me do that. 2) You tell me 10 minutes. That was a lie. Don't lie. It's bad for you. 3) When I call back half an hour later, the sympathetic lady on the phone informs me that there is NO RECORD of my cab order. This. Makes. Me. Angry. It also makes me cry because I have had 2 hours of sleep, need to be at work in an hour and DESPERATELY NEED TO WASH THE BOOZE FROM MY BODY! So hey, maybe you should, I don't know, never do that again. 4) While the nice lady managed to get me a cab within five minutes, I am never calling you awful people again. read more

I love the Flash! - The first time the husband put Flash in his cell phone, he drunkenly entered it as "Flarsh". It is now permanently referred to as Flarsh. - I love the automated phone ordering situation. It gives you the option to just push "1" if you want to be picked up now at [usually the last place you ordered from]. If it's the same place, you don't have to talk to anyone! - The lady who recorded the numbers says a couple of them HILARIOUSLY! "If you'd like to be picked up now at..... With cabs I'm crab or fab. Crab: http://www.yelp.com/biz/yellow-cab-chicago-chicago#hrid:9hlYXnvKB8ixyub7YGa6Nw Fab: http://www.yelp.com/biz/yellow-cab-chicago#hrid:tETocJCVGQpHc1xNwsLWCQ Flash Cab is Fab, because 1. It is Old School (founded in 1945). As a kid, I rode Flash Cabs with my Gold Coast Grandparents on trips to the Michael Todd to see movies, to Fields to shop, or to Wrigley Field. (I think back then it had other iterations of its name, but all with "Flash" in them); and 2. English speaking! A high percentage of Flash Cab drivers speak English very well, if not even as their native language; and 3. Flash Cab drivers seem actually to know the city. I can't remember the last time I had to tell a Flash Cab driver the best route to a destination, and I've never experienced any of the "Eh,...Hermitage-Armitage - they're all the same" crap which I've encountered from drivers of a lower caste. 4. Flash Cab is prompt. I have rarely waited even 5 minutes for a Flash Cab. Last night we headed home from Roscoe Village to Boystown, and it seemed that not 20 minutes lapsed between first calling Flash Cab when we were ready to leave our friends' house and the time we arrived home. 5. Flash Cab drivers seem not to drive with iTunes or other cell phone e-danglia packed into their ears so they cannot hear the street noise; 6. Flash Cabs are clean. Honestly, I can't remember ever getting into a dirty Flash Cab, and I've been riding in Flash Cabs or their predecessors since the 1960s. Put this in your cell phone: 773-561-4444 read more

Finally, a Cab company who employs GPS to it's best benefit. In the 2 years I've lived in Chicago, they've only improved their service!!! Instead of / including calling you, they now sending you a text message telling you which cab was dispatched to your location. I've NEVER failed to get a cab in 10 minutes or less. it's like they're hiding in nooks and crannies all over town awaiting a call and *POOF* they're there!! Flash is also affiliated with 303 Taxi in Evanston. since I go to Evanston often to fabric shop -- This company LITERALLY has me coming and going. (hey, fabric is heavy when you buy a lot of it) They even have Prius cabs!! I've never once had a bad driver. The same can not be said of other cab companies in Chicago read more

Let me start this off by saying that I have been back in Chicago for 2.5 years and have consistently had nothing but problems calling cabs. I live in Logan Square and there have been times when it's a toss up between walking to the nearest busy street -- where cabs really aren't guaranteed, though it has gotten easier to find one -- and waiting up to 3 hours for a cab when one is called. Either way, you might not make it out that night. It doesn't help that several of the cab companies have been consolidated (it's basically Flash vs. Yellow now, no?) and if you look up the lesser-knowns in the phone book, you will likely speak to some weird dude who, it fast becomes clear, has 1 or 2 cars out on the road, maybe. He is unlikely to successfully arrange for your transportation for the night. Anyway... basically I see it as Yellow vs. Flash and I always, always have better luck with Flash. Sure, on a holiday or in bad weather, you might wait the hour or so. But they are getting faster and faster in my neighborhood and it's gotten to the point where I actually attempt to be ready for them when I call (this used to be laughable unless I wanted to sit around getting drunk and smoking in my apartment alone). Also, they store the last pick-up address you gave them so, if they are not crazy busy, they give you the option to press 1 and put in an automated order. They also tend to call me with updates every 20 min. or so when they are running late, which is appreciated. Their operators are pretty nice. And their drivers are not perverts or weirdos. Believe me, I've had some trouble with that. There is actually one dude who drives a minivan with TVs in the back. It's decorated with all kinds of knickknacks and I believe there was a box of kleenex available. That guy rocks. read more

You know that feeling you get when you're going to a special dinner and you'll be meeting some new people and you'd like to make a good impression? So to make sure you're there on time, you call a cab an hour ahead of time and request they pick you up at such-and-such a time, and take you to such-and-such a place? And before hanging up, you remember to ask for the cab number, and then you remember it without writing it down and everything? And then an hour later you're all ready and you look out the window compulsively rather than wait outside because it's humid and your hair only has about 20 good minutes left in it before it becomes an afro, which is unflattering when you're white? And then the appointed time comes and goes and no cab, so you call again and are told they're sorry but they'll re-send the request to their cabs, and if it's picked up it'll be about 5 more minutes, and it dawns on you that they totally blew off your original reservation? But then you don't have a choice because you can't catch a cab where you live so you're at their mercy? And another 5 minutes comes and goes, and then some more minutes come and go? And by now you're waiting outside because when the cab comes you don't want to waste a second? And then you see a cab come down the street and stop in front and you approach, but there's someone in it who shakes her head at you because she's picking up her friend, your neighbor, who has just witnessed you walk up to her cab like an idiot? And then after a few more minutes, your cab comes but drives by? And you watch it circle the block trying to find you, even though you are frantically flagging it? And then you get an automated call from the cab dispatcher telling you your cab has arrived, even though in reality it drove past you? And then the driver finally sees you and you finally get in and it's a clean, non-smelly cab and the driver is naive and polite and you can't even stay mad at him? No? Well this experience is a phone call away.... read more

Picture it: I've been drinking copious amounts of whiskey. I don't know where I am, or how I got there. I just got in a bar fight and I've got an open head wound. I've got blood in my eyes! I'm limping, and I'm not sure why. I've lost my CTA pass. I need to get home, now. I am stranded. I need to get home. I lift a weary hand into the air and wave desperately for a cab. Any cab. Just get me home. A cab pulls up, and I think, "THANK GOD. A cab!" But then, through the blood in my eyes, I see that the cab is white and powder blue. Emblazoned across the side of the cab: FLASH (a red lightning bolt etched across the A). "Sorry, I don't ride Flash cab," I say, and the cab drives off. OK well maybe that story was a little embellished (read: completely fabricated), but FLASH CAB is still the absolute worst cab company I have ever experienced, and I have resolved never to ride in a Flash cab again. I used to think that all cab companies are basically the same. Cabbies are the same all over, but somehow the Flash cabbies manage to distinguish themselves as being uniquely bad drivers, with uniquely bad manners. I've been rear-ended by a Flash cab from the front. Bet you didn't think that was possible. I've had a Flash cab approach me driving the wrong way in a lane, and the driver still had the chutzpah to flip me off. I haven't called a Flash cab in years, since I learned long ago that their dispatch is completely unreliable. And while my head-wound anecdote is a yarn, I balk any time I hail a white cab. Oh, Blue Ribbon? Well ok then! read more

Im in town for a conference. As im waiting for a Lyft outside my hotel, I see a line of potential passengers waiting for a cab on the line of Flash cabs. This black family is up next. The driver REFUSED to let them in the car. She tried to inch up, signaling her desire to take the white man behind them. Thankfully, the gentleman who was outside directing traffic told her to get off the line. She made a scene and completely embarrassed this group because of their color. The sad part is, she's a minority herself (maybe Indian, based on her dialect). I will be reporting this to the full extent. DISGUSTING. read more

I needed to book a cab in advance when I was in Chicago. I turned to yelp, but was disappointed to discover mostly negative reviews for every taxi service. Seems like people tend to review cab companies only after they've had a dreadful experience--or when they've had that rare heroic experience where they left their bag of kruggerands in the back seat and the driver tracked them down personally, etc etc. So I'm here to report in on Flash Cab as a thoroughly satisfied ordinary customer. Only complaint was the long hold time on Saturday night when I was phoning in my request. But the dispatcher was super friendly. in the morning I got a text apprising me that the cab was dispatched, another text when it approached my location, and a phone call to follow that up. Taxi was right on time and got me to the train station directly. I'll definitely call FlashCab again when I'm in Chicago. read more

My review is purely based on my personal experience this past Sunday morning in the wee hours (4 a.m.). A few friends of mine were ready to leave and our friend hopped online and ordered the cab. It came within ten minutes, called when it got there and we went out to get into the cab. I saw two guys that looked like they were trying to get our cab. I thought I heard the cab driver tell these guys that someone had ordered this cab and then I interjected with "We ordered this cab." and they let us have it. My room mate piled in first, I sat "bitch" and my other friend splitting the cab with us got in last. Next thing I know there was a flash of silver; a gun pointed into the car. My room mate had pushed the lock down on her side while my friend closed the door as quickly as he could while yelling "GO GO GO" to the cab driver. The cabby slammed on the gas and next thing we know we hear POW x3. We all started screaming and freaking out. At least two if not more gunshots came after that. I was hysterical, screaming, crying, heaving. The cab driver got a block and a half away, parked the car and called the cops. That cab driver saved our lives. Sadly I did not get his name nor can I recall the car number but for me, Flash Cab lives up to its name. Thank you Flash Cab Driver!!!!! read more

I couldn't agree with Scott more Flash Cab. I wish I had the nuggets to hang up on her EVERY TIME SHE CALLS ME!!!!!!!! You guys are the best! Talk about serious customer service. She calls, you hang up. Just like clockwork. Your cabs smell. Your drivers are dangerous. Your call-takers are rude. You have truly set the bar for all Chicago cab companies, and for that Flash Cab, I say thank you! read more

So I flew back to Chicago last July from my wedding (delay in writing due to emotional trauma that needed to dissipate) and I get a cab from the airport because I've got to get straight to work. Things are fine. I'm sitting in the back of the cab, which is one of those vans with the plexiglass divider, reading a magazine I picked up at the airport. We pull onto the highway and just as we're getting off the ramp, the driver pulls over and yells at me to get out. "What the .." I think as I look up to see billowing smoke pouring into the cab and it appears all the electricity has cut out. I go to open the door. Doesn't work. You know how those van doors are, it's all electric. I then look to the front again, this time it being harder to see since the cab is pretty well filled with smoke and I can't see too clearly, but definitely can make out the flames shooting from the hood of the car. I figure the only way out is to climb through the plexiglass, noticing that my shoulders will fit through. As I go to do this, the driver pushes me back. He apparently doesn't think it's a good idea. Then he gets out of the van. And shuts the door. I really thought I was done. Couldn't see, barely could breathe. The only thought was that I had to get out of the van. Unbeknownst to me, the driver had ran around to my side and somehow wedged the door open. I didn't even grab my purse I wanted out so badly. Ran a few yards away not knowing if it were about to explode. Driver said he called for someone to pick me up but nearly a half hour later I still stood there. Luckily, a cab with a fare pulled over and picked me up. Two stars because honestly, the driver could have left me there. He could have freaked out and just not tried. It wasn't his fault the van was a piece of flaming **** and, while not the most helpful, he did get me out. Took me a week to tell my husband what happened. read more

In the past, I've been a fan of Flash Cab but in the past several months they have let me down. The past three times I've used webhail or booked via taxi magic, the cab was very late. If they want to start using technology to hail taxi's they need to better develop it before they roll it out. If I see a Flash Cab on the street, I'll hop in. However - no more ordering ahead of time! Its too much of a gamble! As a side note, a few months back a Flash took me from the airport to Logan Square. The cabbie put my suitcase in the trunk and upon dropping me off didn't get out of the car, didn't open his trunk, nor remind me of my luggage. When I finally remembered, I luckily had a receipt with the cab number on it. After an hour of trying to track down my luggage, the cab driver offered to bring it back to me for a fare. He was way out in Burr Ridge and it cost me $65 to get my luggage back. Once we swapped the $65 for the luggage, he said, "what, no tip?". Maybe it was my fault for not remembering but I didn't enjoy the experience. Muh read more

Today , July 28, 2022 I just took a cab with my family from ORD to the fairmont in millennium park with Flash Cab (taxi 5118). At the beginning the guy asked for 100 plus tip and I told him that Uber was charging 66. He just said ok ok and during the ride he was at all the time asking for a tip. we arrived to the hotel about 50 minutes later and the screen at the taxi showed 80.75 and this guy was still askin for the 100 plus tip. I will never use flash back again, but I think it is important for the community to know. Avoid taxi 5118 because the driver is a thief. read more

Flash cab has been the company I have used whenever I was in the city and since I have lived here. (2 years) The other night I was meeting friends at an address I had never been to. The cab driver that picked me up seemed to be having a tough day, because he was giving me a lot of tude. When we arrived at the location it was not the building I had been expecting. I commented that the address must've changed, to which the cab driver replied, " This is 4131. You asked for 4133. It's right next door. Get out." To be honest I can't believe I paid him, and got out. I have never experienced anything like this before. He dropped me off near Pulaski and Belmont at dusk. I don't know if you've been to the area. Ok during the day, but not incredibly safe after sundown. I stood on the corner and waited for a bus, so I could get the heck out of dodge. I spent $14 on a cab that took me literally nowhere. Though it may have been my fault for not checking in to see if the address was the same, the cab driver should have taken me somewhere safe/ else and not told me to "Get out". read more

Apparently I am one of the few people who doesn't have problems with Flash Cab. When I call them, they come. Often within 10 minutes. When I schedule a cab, they show up. On time. I don't think twice about it. Here's the rub: I live in Andersonville. And it seems that if you're in Uptown or Lincoln Square, your experiences will be similar to mine. Other parts of the city, maybe not. I wasn't really familiar with Flash before I moved to this neighborhood, but they quickly became my default provider. I wasn't a fan of the automated system -- only because 1) I don't like working my way through the menus, and 2) I don't trust that my order will be processed. Having used it more than once, though, it now knows my name and address (if I'm calling from my home phone), and is faster than talking to an agent. It's also more reliable. I've found that my order is more likely to be processed through the automated system than if I speak with an agent. Maybe that's why I've been lucky -- no human contact. read more

Don't leave your stuff in a Flash Cab. I was drunk and a little sleepy last Friday evening when a Flash cab dropped me and my girl off at her place last Friday, Mar 7, 2014. Ten mins later I realized I left my duffle-bag in the cab with some items in there I was really gonna miss -- and still am. I didn't remember the cab number -- who would? I called Flash and they said they put out a fleet-wide bulletin with my offer of $200 to bring the bag back. Nothing. I was told the Lost & Found dept was only open M-F 9-5 because apparently people only lose things during business hours. I wait all weekend and all I get Monday morning is their answering machine -- that's all I ever got after repeated phone-calls. I leave several messages but never get a callback. One decent soul at Flash named Veronica who works at their 9696 Foster location goes and checks L&F for me. Nothing. Using my credit card number, she eventually tracks down the number of the cab we were in and leaves messages for the driver. He never responds. The day driver responds but hasn't seen it. Eventually, I call dispatch on the night shift and ask if they can radio my driver to ask if he's retrieved the bag. He says no. Everybody says the same thing, "oh, well, it musta been the next passenger, you know." I call bullsh!t. I don't think petty thieves are paying for expensive cab-rides in Ravenswood. I just can't feature it. If an indistinct black duffle-bag is sitting on the floor of a cab, I think 95 passengers out of a hundred are either honest enough to mention it to the cabbie or are too concerned it contains gear belonging to the cabbie to just go walking off with it. Hey, whatever, it's my own damn fault, but what really chaps my as$ is the total lack of responsiveness on Flash's part. At no point in this sad, week-long odyssey did anyone from Flash ever get back to me about a single one of my messages. The fact that to this day, I have yet to ring through to a person in their Lost & Found. My bag is guaranteed to be sitting in some pile of neglected passenger detritus some chimp who cleans cabs out threw it on and is now awaiting its final journey to a Joliet landfill after being pawed through for valuables. Thanks for caring, a-holes -- I'll be sure to recommend Flash to all my friends. read more

My review of Flash Cab is a composite of my last two experiences using this company. My first trip from the city to suburb was excellent, timely, clean cab, polite driver and did not shortchange on the air conditioner. My second experience, traveling from a suburb into the city, was a different experience altogether. I suppose we all live in the "now" and don't like to wait for anything. But I promise, I believe I was extremely patient and polite throughout my long ordeal. I called for a cab, adapted, at about 5 PM and requested one for about 7:30 PM. The reps had no problem with my request. 7:30 PM rolls around and they are still working on my order (20 minutes maybe half an hour). No problem (I said to myself). I sipped my beer and waited for the cab. The Bears game was pretty good and our new quarterback may be worth all of the hysteria. Finishing my beer, 8:15 PM and they're still working on my case, (20 minutes they tell me). All the food was gone and the dishes are being cleaned. 8:30 PM, I'm getting sleepy and I opened another beer, and they're still working on my case (15 more minutes they promise). I've finished my beer and am scoping out the weather channel chicks, as well as the rest of Saturday night cable television. 9:00 PM and I call again. A cab is on the way (five more minutes they promise). I laugh and think to myself, it could be worse, it could be raining, I could be on a street corner, I could be in Wisconsin, I could be Norwegian. If it wasn't for the extremely pleasant cab driver, the fact that it was Saturday night in the suburbs and that I had nowhere to go and nothing really to do, I would have been pissed. read more

Flash Cab used to be my reliable go-to cab company. I used them consistently for about six years to get us around town. In that time I can count one awful cab driver and one time they didn't show up (and that was when we requested a van). But in the past three months, their service has been AWFUL. I have pre-scheduled cabs several times through the phone and their website and NONE of them have showed up. When I call to find out why, they often tell me they are "still working on my order." For one order they lied and told me the cab had been waiting ten minutes for me and then left - this was hard to believe considering I had been sitting on my front step for the entire time and could see two blocks on either side of me. The most recent time I even put a buffer of 15 minutes on the front end - they still didn't show up and they finally called a full 20 minutes after my initial scheduled time to ask if I still wanted a cab. I don't know what has happened to Flash Cab but they are no longer a reputable or reliable company. read more

These cabs are trying to take advantage of people who don't know any better. Last night, a driver for flash cab was trying to charge a flat $45 to go 4 miles instead of turning on the meter for my parents (who aren't familiar with the city of Chicago). Another cab was trying to charge $25 flat. I called your company and the lady informed me they are NOT supposed to do this. No wonder Uber and Lyft are taking over the market, it's hard to find an honest cab when you're out and about. My mom has a hard time walking and was leaving a concert and this driver decided it'd be a good time to take advantage of them. I took a cab from the same location they were coming from and to and my cab had the meter on and It was $14 !! Untrustworthy and honestly disgusting, I bet a lot of the drivers took advantage of people last night. read more

Flash Cab is my go-to cab company, the only cab number I have in my phone. No matter where I am, all it takes is a quick phone call and about 15 minutes later there will be a cab waiting for me. I have also used them to get to the airport--in every instance I've called a few days before, scheduled pick-up, and the cab is always there, usually early. Sure, like any other cab in the city they get snarky if you want to use a credit card and can definitely use some cleaning, but that just seems to be par for the course. read more

I had a slightly bazaar feeling of deja vu yesterday morning. If you happened to catch my review on Express Moving, this may look familiar. So I called yesterday morning more around 7:30 for a cab to arrive around 8:20. They said "no big deal and we'll be out there." I had a dentist appointment at 9AM, so I knew I'd be there early. However, I get a call around 8AM saying they are running a about 10 minutes behind...no big deal. However, at 8:50, I sensed they would not show up. I called them to see if they will arrive soon. Surprise, surprise...now they can't find one of their OWN cabs in the area and won't make it. At some point, wouldn't you think to actually call the customer to say, "Hey, sorry, but we can't make it?!?!?!" NOOOO, not Flash Cab. Whoever I spoke at Flash seemed as if he's "heard this a million times before and didn't care" that Flash Cab just f'ed up my appointment. I even spoke to the "supervisor." She was at least honest when she told me she really didn't care and sorry. I will hand it to them, they put up with my yelling longer than most. Regardless, I ended up with no cab, late to my dentist appointment and Flash has blocked my number. Seriously, if you can't perform a service, tell the customer as opposed to leaving them stranded. Piss poor service and amazed at how terrible their "Customer Service" was. If you catch them on the street...fine. Just don't rely on calling ahead. read more

The driver told me the card reader was not working, proceeded to charge me 80 dollars for a one mile ride, self tipped himself 40 and then forced me to venmo him another 40 because he was saying the card machine was not working. DO NOT USE THIS CAB SYSTEM THEY ARE CRIMINALS! read more

OK. We used to rely on them. Now we don't. They haven't come through the last, oh, I don't know--- 15 times? At least? And why do we keep calling them? Because they were programmed into my speed dial. Which they are no longer. Sorry, Flash... but our little love affair is over. We should have called it a day back when you saw construction on our street and decided just not to come by or even call the dispatcher to let us know you were too delicate to drive around it, like the all the other cars. We should have let you go then. But we still loved you. We believed in you. We wanted to give you another chance. But after we waited 45 minutes tonight, only to find out the cabbie had picked someone else up before even arriving at our pickup location (or perhaps after-- at any rate, they never called, which your blase operator gum-smackingly admitted), and then waited another 35 minutes for the makeup cab said operator promised to dispatch (after hanging up on us once) ONLY to find out at the 35-minute mark that the order hadn't even been placed... well, it's just time to go our separate ways. It's not us... it's you. read more

This is the only cab company in my cell. Definitley a fan. Why walk down the street and hail a cab when one can show up at your door? And no need to keep checking the windows to see it they're out there yet. They will call you and let you know when your cab has arrived! Usually within 10 minutes of calling. All the drivers have been nice. Sometimes a little overly *too* nice. Meaning including themselves in our conversation we're having in the back seat. Just pay attention to the road and let me gossip about the horrific party we just left please! Of all the cab rides I've taken in the city, if it hasn't been Flash Cab it's been an awful driver on their phone with the music too loud and it too hot in the car. The Flash Cab drivers actually try and make you comfortable. Amazing. GPS systems in the car and very clean and friendly! Love it. read more

If you have an iPhone, download the Taxi Magic app. You'll thank me later. Flash Cab is hooked up to Taxi Magic. You start the app, it figures out where you are, and dispatches a Flash Cab to that location. It tells you how far away your taxi is, the taxi number, and the taxi driver's name. The taxi has appeared as scheduled every time. Flash cab, we're no longer on a break. And as long as you keep being you, I'll be happy. read more

I've never considered ever calling for a cab, simply because I live in a neighborhood where cabs are zooming by at any hour of the day. I have to walk 2 blocks to Lincoln which is fine in the warmer months, but it's getting cold. I've finally welcomed myself to 2010 and started booking cabs online with these guys. I know, silly that I'm so excited right? Can you sense my enthusiasm? I'm sure you can. I never cared much for cabs and I have to take them every single day to work and back. It's nice to know that I'll have one waiting right outside my house, instead of walking and waiting a hot minute for one. I've ordered at least 10 cabs at this point, (for those Sundays I have to wake up at 7am for work and just can't get my shit together fast enough). They've always been on time if not early and I get a phone call when they arrive. It's simple, quick and just plain awesome. Most of the cabbies I've had have been somewhat normal too, instead of most the mutants I normally come across when heading home from work. Thumbs up. Thanks for the helpful online booking and fast service Flash Cab! read more

Flash Cab is an unprofessional excuse for a cab company. I really hope anyone considering giving them your business reads on. Last night I got all dressed up for a Halloween party and called a cab at 9P.M. I was hoping to make it to my party by 10PM, would have been fine getting there by 11PM. Knew it was Halloween party night and was prepared to wait for some time. When I called at 9PM they said it would be about half an hour. OK, long wait but I could deal. ONE HOUR LATER they have not even called to give me an update on the time estimate. I had to call repeatedly just to get through. When I talk to them they now say they are "still working on my order." I continue to wait, calling every half hour or so. At 11:45P.M. they call and say they are still trying to find me a cab, no cabs available in my area. At this point it's too late to go out and I take off my entire Halloween costume & make-up, don't get to party. At one point the customer service rep told me there were people waiting for THREE OR FOUR hours for a cab in some areas. Even on a busy party night.... I can't believe this would happen. Unacceptable for a company to be in business. The worst part is that they originally told me half an hour and led me on to believe they would actually get me a cab, so i missed opportunities to call other companies. By the time I realized they probably weren't getting me a cab it was very late, and any cab company would take another hour maybe to get to me. Too late all-together. Let's put Flash Cab out of business together--- they will continue to ruin lives if we don't! read more

Holy heck. Not only does the dispatch not give a fuck... provide wrong ETA's, hang up on you, never call back... the drivers are ornery and some are downright insane. I've had one driver chase me out of his cab across LaSalle st. Another guy yelled at me for 5 blocks becuz he waited 10 minutes. (The dispatch lady told me to wait 10 minutes). They are all apparently wealthy and do not need mine or anyone's money. Avoid them. read more
