Brickell seems to be short on spaces to host live art and performances, so we are so fortunate to have the Flamingo Theater as an awesome space for small-scale, live shows. I've been dying to come here for so long and finally made it out to the theater to watch a belly dance showcase that was awesome! The space is so fun in its decor (there are artsy portraits of Mario and a cat in a suit!) and the tables are well laid out so your view is not obstructed no matter where you sit. You can order drinks directly to your table by pressing a button and service is fast. Bathrooms are in the back and reasonably kept, the layout was a little confusing at least in the women's restroom as it seems when you walk in there are only a few stalls but then in the back there are a bunch more. I will also say, their website and social media is not the most helpful. For example, I was unclear if food is served in the theater and found no info online and no one to call. So we played it safe and ate before. However, they do serve food after all - a variety of Latin fare like arepas and ceviche. So sad we got full before the show and didn't get to try any good. But all in all, I had a great time at the theater and definitely look forward to seeing another show here! read more

George Harris' Comedy Act at The Flamingo Theater. I've seen a lot of comedy performances, but Jorge Harris' act was something else--just not in a good way. His energy was all over the place, like the hyperactive squirrel from Over the Hedge, especially whenever he hit the Doritos. It felt less like a stand-up show and more like watching someone on a caffeine overdose. The comedy itself? Painful. His 45-minute skit dragged on with weak jokes and awkward pacing. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, he decided to pivot to... scrolling through Instagram and sharing it on screen. At that point, I wasn't sure if I was at a comedy show or an impromptu social media tutorial. And as if the show wasn't bad enough, the bar service was just as terrible. The bartender actually tried to convince us that an Old Fashioned is made with rum! Either they were clueless or just didn't care, but either way, it was embarrassing. Overall, this was easily one of the worst comedy acts I've ever seen, paired with some of the worst bar service. If you're looking for a good night out, avoid this place. read more

"An insult to the audience." I went to this venue to watch Willy Chirino perform. He is, and will always be, my all-time number one musician, singer, and performer. For him stars My complaint is not about him -- it is about the venue, which has become the most disrespectful and poorly run place I have ever attended for a musical performance. You announced that doors would open at 8:30, but upon arrival -- and only after I asked at 9:30 -- I was informed that the show would not actually begin until 11:30-12:00. This kind of misleading practice is unacceptable and feels like nothing more than a gimmick to force guests into spending more on drinks and food while waiting. To make matters worse, my husband -- who wakes up very early every day -- was made to waste three hours sitting on hard, uncomfortable chairs at a wobbly table. Beyond that, the entire venue is in deplorable condition, which only adds to the disrespect and lack of professionalism. Their lack of transparency, disregard for the audience's comfort, and deliberate manipulation of customers' time is shameful. I will certainly be warning others of what to expect, and I strongly advise Flamingo Theater and Bar to reconsider how they treat paying guests if they expect to maintain any credibility as a venue. read more

Service was excellent (18% added to our check of 6 people) Ambiance: what you'd expect from a party place, great music and dim lights... We ordered some food here's where I drop a star. We went last night to the EA music concert, and it was terrible. Not only the venue was way over capacity, but the food was cold, overpriced and BAD. We ordered a house bottle of Merlot and it was like drinking vinegar. The group of people seating behind us, were complaining that they didn't have space and asked us to move so many times that it started to get violent; we reached out to the manager and were tempted to call the police and the fire department since we didn't have any space either!!!! In the end we decided to leave the place and not waste our time there. We spent over $800 between finger foods, drinks and tickets, WHAT A WASTE!. Please save yourself the trouble, and don't go to this place, we will definitely not go ever again. read more

This venue pose a serious safety risk. They need to prioritize attendee safety by adhering to venue capacity limits and implementing proper crowd management strategies so the well-being of attendees is not jeopardized. We were extremely disappointed at an event last night that we purchased tickets for. The tables around kept complaining about space when we ourselves didn't have any and things were escalating so we had to leave halfway through the concert. This is a Spanish language comedian show held Thursdays. George Harris is a Venezuelan comedian. The theater holds about 300 people. The show itself started at 10 PM and ended a little bit after 11 PM. After which they have music. The show has been playing there for almost 15 years to my understanding. It was a packed house and we enjoyed it it was something different. Very funny! We ordered a bottle of wine which was $50 - Josh Chardonnay. The place is amateur, the performer was suppose to start at 8:30 and it's 10 pm and nothing yet!!! The service is a piece of garbage the server takes FOREVER simply trash!!!!! Can't say enough about this venue, it has it all, location is amazing right here on the water at the Four Ambassadors on Brickell. Service was fantastic, and the atmosphere is intimate, they have done a really good job here. So far I have seen five or six shows and all were enjoyable, never had a problem with the sound nor the wait staff as I read in other reviews. This is a late-night venue and very Latin, so if you arrive early you are going to wait, tell your baby sitter that they need to stay longer than usual and enjoy your night! read more

Worst customer service ever! I would put -5 start if I could. I went to a concert there and ordered one drink, and by mistake the server brought me two drinks, and I sent back one, and later on they brought it back saying that since they made it already, I can have it and left it on the table. And guess what, they charged it to my tab. Server called the "manager" (which I'm sure it wasn't the manager) and she insisted that since I drank it I have to pay for it. Even after explaining to her that I refused it the first time, she didn't take it:) and when I asked her if she really is the manager, she said she is the OWNER, and her name is Jeniffer. What a great location for live music. This place is a hidden gem close to downtown, Brickell area. It is a large theatre with a potential of a great dance hall. The moveable chairs can me removed to make a larger dance floor. I am told that the tickets are normally $25 but the Latin Grammy Award nominated group FincaFusion comped the entrance fee. The drinks were normal for the location: $6 for beer, $10 for wine/mixed drinks. They had food too but I didn't order anything to eat. I hope more bands here about this place. It is easy to get to whether you drive, take the metro or taxi. It is located in the Four Ambassadors Hotel and they have valet service. read more

I was in George Harry's yesterday and my Samsung bluetooth where gone, it was very suspicious how I got my car the valet avoid the traffic and pull out of the line on the second lane as strategy for me to go fast like doing me a favor, when I was driving after like 20 minutes I look for my head set, and there are gone I live in pembroke and my babysitter need it to leave I couldn't come back try to look for the phone number for the valet parking no way to find check your car very good before leaving the valet parking at this place. Once I had bought tickets to the George Harris's show, I started reading the reviews for this place, since I had never been before. The reviews were terrible. I was very skeptic even before handing my car to the valet. Well, my experience was just fantastic. We arrived at the door. The line was organized and very short. The staff was courteous and organized. They knew what they were doing, they kept count of every single chair. The moment we sat, a waitress came and greeted us. Yesterday my friend and I went to Flamingo Theater for the Brickell food and wine, thanks to the wonderful Diandra and Yelp. We had an amazing time. I picked up my tickets and got my VIP bash, which I loved. It turns out that VIP gets to try the food and drinks for free so I felt like a Yelp Celebrity!! Flamingo Theater it's a nice place for events like this one, not too big and with a cute stage. The layout of it was great because it has tables and chairs on the front and then some sofas with their tables on the back of the theatre. The DJ was on a corner but in an elevated place and the decoration in here was pretty retro and vintage, loved it. The only think I didn't like was the bathroom, only one and unisex, so it was interesting going to wash my hands with a guy in the same restroom, I didn't mind that much about it but they were in horrible conditions. Going back to the event, among of the food sponsors it was; Toro Toro, and he recognized me from another event, their tuna was incredibly fresh and the empanadas were the best beef empanadas I have tried, warm, juicy, filled with flavors. Then we tried the different wines from Finding Wine. The Mexican White Wine was my favorite of the night. Check out their website for upcoming wine tasting and other events. On of the owners, Fabian was very courteous with us and told us everything about their wine. They had live music, first a gorgeous lady singing Latin Jazz, so classy. Then a Reggae Group, so fresh and last but definitely not least, Tito Puente Jr. and his band played amazing for us. I danced the whole time!!! I went with my husband yesterday to see George Harris' show as we are big fans. We were so disappointed we could not hear nor understand the entire show. We were sitting in table number 33 for which I had paid the highest price available for a table of six a month in advance , $40 each, "Platinum VIP. Not sure why they call it VIP platinum since our table was all the way to the right hand side of the scenario. Anyways, i didn't mind the location but not being able to hear or understand the show was frustrating. My husband stood up and went to speak to several staff members including the lady in the entrance dealing with wristbands. A staff member came and brought a speaker because apparently the overhead speaker in that section was broken/off. But this made no difference for our table. My husband went to the same lady to advise of the continuing issue to which she replied she could hear just fine. It wasn't just our table but the people next to us were unable to listen as well. This was a huge disappointment for us... its a shame since I like his shows and are always always promoting George Harris. But this place is really bad and the least they could do is perform a sound check from every angle to assure quality of the show... i believe customers deserve this! Btw we had to ring the bell to be attended by the waiter and waited a ridiculously long time after the show to get the check... they seemed pretty short staffed. read more

BE AWARE OF YOUR BILL!!!! The place is actually nice, cozy place for concerts. BUT, it took 30 minutes to get our first drinks after we ordered them and then when we received the bill, it had the items and the 18% tip added on it. BUT, when the credit card bill came back to sign it says..."PRE-TIP AMT" , it puts the final amount with tax and tip which they already added on this line, and then the next line says, "TIP" for you to add additional tip---and this will happen if you are not paying attention!!!!! The place is nice, the service not that bad, at least our server was very attentive and very diligent. The bar service lacks variety but you can survive that (don'task for the house wine...it's the cheapest in the market = headache next day). What is really disrespectful is that the show started hours, and I mean HOURS late. So, if you park on the streets get ready to leave before the show even starts (3 hours maximum), get out to move the car or get ready to get a parking ticket. Valet parking, I read they steal from cars, so I'm sure I don't want to use it. This is my first visit and I can tell it will be the only one. I'm sad because ot has some potentials but the managmente has that disfuntional Cuban touch.....(and I am from Cuba!). Avoid this place guys. read more

Terrible service I waited 1 hour for a drink, and I told the waitress twice in a nice way that my drink was not delivered, we have attended 3 different events at this theater and every time it the same bad service. Also they want to make you pay extra tip when they already include the 18% on your total. They think because is dark and people are in a hurry to get out they can take advantage of you.
