Flamingo Hut was okay. The texture of the ice was good, as was the variety of flavors but that's about it. We're from Grand Prairie where there's a competitor whose flavors are JAM PACKED. Flamingo Hut's flavors tasted watered down like they literally diluted the flavors in an effort to save money. We had the tiger's blood, chamoyada and blue cotton candy (I believe). The consensus amongst the family was the same- meh. These were okay but we've had way better. The corn was good, but nothing special. We were hopeful that Flamingo Hut would be our new hangout spot this summer but doesn't seem likely.

Hidden gem alert!…read more The Dessert Bar in Midlothian is absolutely worth the hunt, even with the construction mess making it harder to get to right now. Once you find it, though, you'll be glad you did. This spot combines two of my favorite things: decadent desserts + a legit full bar. Whoever came up with this concept deserves a medal. What I had: Raspberry Almond Cake - 5/5. Moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The almond balanced the raspberry perfectly, and the slice was massive. Sharing is optional, but I didn't. ;) Chocolate Chip Cookie - 5/5. Giant, warm, and delicious. It had that perfect chewy-meets-crispy texture, and thankfully wasn't dry (a common downfall for oversized cookies). Old Fashioned - 5/5. Honestly, one of the best I've had anywhere. Perfectly balanced, smooth, and strong. I wasn't expecting cocktail game this good at a dessert spot; pleasantly surprised! They've only been open about three months, and I really hope more people discover them because this concept is so good. A cute, cozy vibe, amazing desserts, and strong cocktails? Yes, please. Do yourself a favor: find this place.

My husband and I both ate off our cake slices for several days. We will be back to try again for just cocktails with dessert. The restaurant is super cute.

Great food great service with great company! What else can you ask for?!?…read more It's was a very pleasant experience for all of us dining here for the first time. A great find serving up great Mexican dishes with a slight twist. Good portions and reasonably priced served by friendly staff members. Complimentary chips and salsa just kept coming and the salsa was awesome! Our meals came piping hot from the kitchen and mine came on a sizzling platter! Absolutely tender and perfectly seasoned steak fajita! That's was from our first visit. On our next visit I had the Steak Hawaiian fajitas again! I just keep coming back to it because it's just that good! I will try something else the next time!!!

I felt like I was in a school cafeteria because of this. I will say the music was nice and at a suitable volume. It was not played so loud that it interfered with conversation, especially if you wanted to eavesdrop on the table next to you. The menu was very limited. Food service was very slow. When the food finally arrived it was dried out and overcooked. My shrimp looked like it was cooked over a campfire like a marshmallow, complete with a black charred covering. Staff was very nice. Margaritas were pretty good. If you want to drink a lot, you should have plenty of time to drink 2-3 overpriced drinks before your food arrives. Wait staff is good about returning to see if you need another drink. I will certainly not be returning.
