I give Flake 5 stars for being an absolutely cracking place to grab a quick breakfast or lunch. Its actually much more like a café with a kitchen than a restaurant, but whatevs, they are the best. They have tables indoors and outdoors on the sidewalk, which provides a great perch for people-watching. I eat here like, 2-3 times per week. I also really love their drip coffee, its honestly a lot better than Groundworks and always super fresh, since Flake closes at like 3pm. Flake is on of my boyfriend & my favorite lunch spot. We never really plan it that way, but we've never made it for breakfast. Anyway, I will start by saying that I love the fact that this is a hole in the wall. It's very well kept, has great outdoor seating & is family owned. The owner is always so sweet to us, as are the rest of the employees. A young girl (maybe 10 or 11) took my order once. When does that actually happen? It was so cute & I love to see a place where the whole family is involved. My favorite thing on the menu is the Poseidon's wrap...it's a tuna salad wrap with a secret spicy sauce. You know how when you were a kid & you ate so many flaming hot cheetos that your mouth was basically numb, but you couldn't help but keep eating them? That's how this wrap is. Buzzing spot. This place is tasty but damn is it busy! Now being busy is not a bad thing, it means you're making good food and doing good business but we really wanted a table. I had the veggie rad and it was the best vegetarian sausage I have had. My husband had the Super Cro-Jo and our son had a bacon burrito. All were great. The Acai bowl looked delicious too. The place is laidback and small so I imagine it gets pretty busy and crowded. We went in around 8am on a weekend and the wait was not bad at all. read more

Simple but great quality, fresh food. That's all I look for in a breakfast joint and it's getting harder to find. Setup at this joint is a little strange you wait in a line which can get lengthy to then maybe find a table outside to sit at, but again the point here isn't ambiance and hipster feels it's just realty bomb food. It seems like everyone gets multiple things to try and that's exactly what I did, I got the veggie rad (most amazing veggie sausage I've ever had), the nutty monkey, and a veggie burrito and split with someone. It was all tasty and I'll definitely be back. And I appreciate that the portions aren't oversized and won't leave you overpaying or trying to force down five eggs or mushy hash browns you don't need to eat. The best neighborhood spot to grab a crojo (delicious croissant breakfast sandwhich) and coffee. Great quick easy breakfast. Yummy english muffin breakfast sandwiches and acai bowl. It has fresh fruit on top and acai is more of a sorbet for those that like that, if you like more of a blended acai you may not like as it is colder, harder and sweeter. read more

It's a small place and there was a line out the door to order. However, the wait was not long at all nor was it to get our food. That's definitely a plus since we just finished our workout and needed some healthy food on us quickly. I ordered the Neptuna salad, which was delicious and very filling. This place is awesome for breakfast. I come here regularly. The acai bowl is perfect when you're looking for something that isn't a traditional breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwiches are good, definitely much better with avocado added. The croissant could be a bit crispier :) The chai I had this past weekend was amazing.
