The Dr. was great, but receptionists that lie instead of just checking; are not good at their job and there should be a repercussion as CLEARLY no one would pay insurance to then go to some facility that does not accept it when there are so many other options in Flagstaff that do. And do their job. And are upfront with you prior to your visit.

THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN FLAGSTAFF!! By, DIAN W…read more I have never written a review before but feel compelled to do so. It was Friday of Memorial Day weekend. I took a bite of my bagel, and broke the tooth next to my front tooth right off. I could feel the blood rushing to my face. Oh no! It's a holiday weekend and I live in Scottsdale. I don't have a dentist in Flagstaff. I went through the phone book and started calling dentists. Some offices didn't answer. Some couldn't take me. Then, I got the sweetest gal on the phone at Peak Family Dental. She said, "Try to get here within the hour. After that our Dr. is booked." I raced over tooth-in-hand convinced that all I would need was a re-glue. After a couple of x-rays, I finally met Dr. Bryan Shanahan. He was super friendly and warm and after looking at the x-rays he told me that I had broken my tooth off inside my crown and that there was nothing for him to glue it back on to. He gave me a bunch of options one of which was to have a root canal and a dental implant. It seemed to make the most sense. But, where would I find an Endodontist? I have a whole weekend of activities planned and I was missing a front tooth! Dr. Shanahan explained to me that he could do everything. (I've had dental implants before and I know that these take months to heal and you have to walk around with a temporary in your mouth. Very often they'll give you something called a "flipper" it's a fake tooth that pretty much falls out of your mouth all the time. I was dreading that.). And then Dr. Shanahan explained to me that he teaches down at the dental school in Scottsdale and that he knows this technique where he can actually drill out the crown that fell out of my mouth; create an abutment and use my own crown as my temporary until my mouth heals. I've never heard of anyone being able to do that!! But I was all ears because that meant that I would walk out looking pretty much like I had the day before I broke my tooth. Shockingly, he was able to do all of that work in under 4 hours. (He had to work on me in-between his already scheduled patients.) Before I left, Dr.Shanahan warned me of the possible pain and swelling I might experience over the next few days. While I did have tenderness, I wouldn't call it pain. And I had no facial swelling at all. I couldn't believe how lucky I had been!! To find a Dentist who would take me on a holiday weekend; and who could do absolutely EVERYTHING!! It was such a stroke of luck and believe me...such a relief. I went on with my weekend as planned. I've become a SUPER FAN of Dr. Shanahan. I think you'll feel the same way.

Not a good experience Receptionist is rude and not helpful…read more Every time I went in to check on my appointment to get a crown she would not schedule the procedure. Asked for a pre appointment cost break down I was told that was my job with my insurance??? Explained to her my insurance only pays for one crown a year so, let's get this scheduled now before the end of this year and she just looked at me like I was asking her to do the impossible. Don't treat customer's in this manner. The damage is done and I went back to my original dentist. I hope you don't have to go through this process. God bless them

First of all, the office facility is really nice and welcoming. The staff, especially Tania at the front desk, was very considerate and helpful. Dr. Leiendecker performed my root canal professionally and efficiently. She was great and I didn't feel any pain, (NONE). They also offered me a pillow for comfort and even let me choose what music I'd like to listen to during the procedure, (I chose Stick Figure). My root canal was a "very pleasant experience" and I left in good spirits for the rest of the day.

I didn't believe the first dentist who told me the full scope of what I now needed. I'm 65 and needed 5 (yes 5! ) new crowns and two root canals! I got three bids from excellent local dentists. They ALL were honest and said the same thing. I chose Woodlands Village and after several months have completed all that was needed. I am so very satisfied with their workmanship! They make the crowns right there. My teeth look better than they ever have. I worked with Elliot, Kelly and Michelle.
