The color looked good on the tacos, but I received a 1/2 sized portion of halibut on each taco. Not a single large one like on the other pictures shown, it was a half portion of halibut for each taco. Roughly about 3 inches in length 2 inches in width for the fried halibut, which was stale and warm. The meat wasn't juicy in the taco either. After I finished my tacos, I saw the table across from us, had ordered a three-piece fish and chips, which was generously loaded with fries and full sized pieces of halibut on the plate, which looked amazing. It was my first time there, so I didn't know what the portion sizes for halibut tacos were supposed to be and it was my first time having halibut so I didn't know what to expect, went there at my friends recommendation. Normally, I check reviews before I go this time I didn't. So I checked on reviews today and saw the halibut fish tacos were supposed to be one large fillet for each taco, so I feel I missed out. I paid $25 for the equivalent of a two piece halibut meal, but only ended up with one piece of halibut on two tacos, which ended up being about $13 a taco, they weren't even that great. If you go, it would be a good idea to confirm with the weight staff if each taco is supposed to get one whole fillet or a half fillet. If it's a half fillet, maybe the Puffin café should adjust their prices accordingly for the tacos. Not a great experience. The place looked really nice and clean, the staff was friendly. Food value and quality not so much.

Fortunately, like a phoenix from the ashes, they have been resurrected in food cart form (several of them!), and I couldn't be happier! I fondly remember many post-concert, middle-of-the-night bowls of spicy mac and cheese, before crashing hard in the wee hours of the morning. I'm happy to know that this tradition can continue, even after the culinary carnage of the 2020's. Bring it on! \m/ There should be no surprise in what I ordered when I came to the car for my first visit, and it was every bit as filling and wonderful as it was before! Like an old friend, sorely missed! Service can be a bit gruff on occasion, but these folks are often understaffed and overwhelmed by the influx of orders, so give them a little grace and patience, and you will be handsomely rewarded with delicious things!

This annual food cart festival/fundraiser for the group Adult Learning Systems of Oregon (ALSO)…read morejust had it's second annual event. It's a great non-profit organization that has provided supported living, residential and vocational services to people with developmental challenges since 1998. Given that all the proceeds go to ALSO, I was fine the drive out to Gresham and the $5 entry fee/donation. The Mt. Hood Community College parking lot was plenty big enough so that no one was crowded, they had live music, and a few other non-food related promotional booths. As far as the food goes, they had 14 carts listed in attendance, but only ~half of those had real entree-sized meals; the rest specialized in more drinks/snacks. Unfortunately, by 6pm a lot of the carts were already sold out of a number of items even though it was supposed to go until 9pm. For next year I'd recommend getting more food carts to participate (and giving them an accurate idea of how many people to expect so they can plan accordingly), and trying to find a more central PDX venue (a PCC parking lot in SE/NE?) to turn out more people, I think both of those changes would really improve the festival and the revenue for ALSO. Overall it was a decent festival for a great cause. Definitely 3-star worthy and not a bad showing for only being its second year. I look forward to seeing it grow and improve for years to come!!!

We paid extra for the VIP entry, hoping we would have access to more food options since the year before the few carts they had ran out of food quickly. There were only around a dozen food carts this year and only a couple had decent food, two of the food carts were not open, carts were running out of food early on, some vendors didn't have change available, lines were short but very very slow, the entertainment was not great, the vendors for the kids zone were a no-show so there was nothing for the kids as advertised, and overall it was a huge let-down. This type of event has so much potential in Portland, but it is very poorly organized. We thought we'd give it another chance this year, but that will be our last. It's really too bad.

She ordered it without pickles because she absolutely hates pickles. Do you think they left it off, nope. Not only did they have a pickle on there there were two pickles. And that was to keep the Third pickle company. Fourth was getting lonely, so why not put that on there too along with the fifth one. Number six couldn't be left off gotta leave even Number. She had six pickles on a no pickle burger. They were sloppy as shit and they give you one napkin. The fries, however, were delicious.
