About 8 months ago, my Samsung cell phone screen cracked. I intended on bringing it to the same place that repaired my Mac Notebook, but was convinced by a friend to try out a place closer to home on Fulton Street. The quoted price to repair the screen was $150. I paid it with no complaints. After a few days, my phone was as good as new. No issues. 8 months later my phone goes black. I wasn't sure if screens had a shelf life and chalked it up to wear and tear. I returned to Kane Repair Service on 8/17/16 requesting a screen replacement for the same phone . The charge was $170. I paid it with no problem. On 8/18 I received the phone and immediately knew something was wrong. The screen felt like it was a generic screen versus one fitting for my Samsung phone . On 8/19 I noticed that the screen became very blotchy, similar to a pen exploding. Everytime I attempted to touch the screen the blotchiness spread all over. By 8/20 the entire screen was covered in ink. I could not see the keys to even type my password. The receipt specifically indicated " have any problems, bring back." Despite this note, the store reps indicated that it was not their fault that the LCD screen was compromised and accused me of dropping the phone. I had to purchase a prepaid phone to use temporarily, since my business line was compromised. Nevertheless my phone was not repaired and now I have to spend another $150 to another company. I think it is a bad business practice to offer a 30 day warranty yet refuse service after two days. I also don't appreciate the dismissive attitude of the workers. Customer service is just as important as the product.
