Had issues with Lenovo laptop, took it in for repair. 1st time I was called and told it was ready to pick up, took laptop home and same issue. Tookaptop back in and they ordered a new battery and installed, went to pick it u, a week later, and i decided to plug it in and test at the store before going home. SAME ISSUE. This time, I happened to notice the flashing amber light and Googled it, told the repair person it said "battery or battery connection error" - then noticed that the power port was very loose. Asked them to repair AND TEST before calling me to pick it up AGAIN, so I didn't make yet ANOTHER trip for an issue that was not resolved. Manager called 2 days later the next to say they were not sure how long it would take to repair or I could come get the laptop AND a refund. Told manager, Jashon, that I would come in and pick the laptop up and wanted the refund since they still did not know what was wrong with it. Went in to pick up and get refund, Jashon gave me a refund MINUS $50 for troubleshooting. I said I should get a full refund as they still did not know what was wrong with it AND that I had driven out here TWICE before and the issue was not resolved. Jashon said he could escalate to his manager and I ended up leaving as no one else was working and I did not want to wait. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE as they do not TEST their repairs. A service center should know to test their repair BEFORE calling the customer to pick their item up. I took my phone in for a screen replacement and as Im walking out the store my phone says that the display is not an original Apple screen so okay, nbd; but then the display starts turning just black while I can feel the vibration from notifications, so Ik it's still on. I take it back in because it's supposed to covered under the warranty I bought, and all seems fine- dude says that the connection from display to phone mustve been a little loose. again nbd as long as it's fixed- well it wasn't and I found myself in an emergency situation and to go back and forth between functionAl and not the temp solution was to tap the phone against something to engage that connection. well now bc it was never properly taken care of in the first place now my fucking back glass is broken. im not a complainer, and being a server myself i try to be very considerate of service staff, but I just spent hundreds of dollars on a decent phone, and then a couple hundred more for nothing but dumb preventable problems that (surprise) they won't cover even when caused by their own negligence. -6/10 if I ever see yall in the wild it's on sight. absolute fucking worst experience with a repair I've ever had. read more

I had a cracked screen- the phone was fully functional. They told me 45 minutes it took 2 hours. When I went to pick it up the screen would not light up and the phone powered off if you it the home button. Another 3 hours and I get a phone call that they need to call in a technician who will need to take it back to his workshop and look at it under a microscope to find out what is wrong. He then said my phone would be ready for pick up on Wednesday (I took it in on a Saturday). The explanation given was perhaps the screen was incompatible and "we are working with a lot of small moving parts." No apologies, no sense of urgency. read more

I called to get my phone fixed because of it not charging or not turning on, I go in to get quoted $69.99 for a battery that was supposed to be brand new. So I paid $30 that day..left the phone to get fixed, I get It next day, I PAID $93 ALL TOGETHER. I go to plug it in, I LEFT THAT PHONE ALL NIGHT TO CHARGE AND IT DID NOT, so I called them and they said possibly it is a defective battery. So they said they put in a NEW BATTERY FOR FREE. I had water damage to my iPhone, and they fixed it at $200 even though the cost should have been a little over. Their policy is that iPhone damage cost cannot exceed $200, so that was nice. However, after they fixed my screen, I dropped my phone and the home button stopped working. I was within warranty, but they still made me pay a $75 charge for the parts. I have dropped many of my iphones in my day, and I never had issues until my screen was replaced by Fix You're Gadget. Not even a month after I got my screen fixed, my phone slipped and fell on a tile floor. The screen cracked and I could hardly use it. I called them and they said it is a $150 charge to fix. I feel like the service and the effectiveness of the shop is nice, but the quality of their products is terrible. I was ready to go to fix my gadget because it was the closest. On the phone they quoted me $149.99. When I got there and the girl saw my shattered screen, she immediately upped the price to $189.99. I walked out and went a little further to THE DIGITAL STORE. They fixed it for what they quoted me on the phone $149.99. That was two days ago. My phone is working perfectly. Phone had a black face; nor could l swipe to get anything to show. I took it in to Pekin's establishment on Court St. to get a battery. The gentleman behind the counter, Lucas, after 15-20 min. and 3-4 phone calls, said he didn't think it was the battery. He made some adjustments and my phone worked! Seems like some people had luck with this business. I have not. I say that in the present tense, because at this time, I still don't have my phone from them. Brought it in to get the back of an iPhone replaced. They replaced it with a different color than the actual phone. Got it home, the volume down button did not work. Took it back they fixed it. Got it home, phone had a rattle to it when picking it up, then the battery stopped working and would not charge. The "replacement back piece" also cracked. Took it back in, they said they would order parts. They received the parts, thought they fixed it, called me to come get it, drove there for them to tell me that they just noticed it wasn't charging. Said they needed to order a battery...god only knows why they did not order a new battery to begin with, when I told them it was the battery. It was supposed to be in first thing the next morning, but fedex tried to deliver when the store was not open and said they will try to deliver later. Through all this I have received 1 call from them for an update. I will never use this business again and I would suggest looking elsewhere first before coming here, and be prepared for them to have your phone for an extended amount of time. read more

I had a batch of generic Android tablets that I took to the University store to get a repair estimate for. The manager said she could give me one, but for the best opinion she asked that I take my equipment to the War Memorial store to speak with the boss. I arrived at the 2nd store a few minutes later and spoke with Larry. Basically, I was asking for them to assess and repair as many of the tablets as they could without ordering parts for any of them. He quoted me an extremely fair price, and then let me know it would be about a week until he would have any results for me. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I got the automated text message in 2 DAYS that I could come and pick up my tablets because the work was already completed. These devices have been back out in the field for several weeks already working as intended with no issues. Thanks for everything guys!! I'll be back again next time I need service. read more

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. Be alert - this company will scam you for more money. My story is long but an important read. I made a Yelp account just for this review. For background information, I am a Bradley University student and my MacBook Pro's backlight went out the week before my finals. That being said, I was in urgent need to fix my laptop ASAP. Thankfully, I called Fix My Gadget and I was told it would cost $250 and would be fixed within 48 hours. Within 24 hours, I picked up my laptop - completely fixed... or so I thought. When I dropped off my laptop initially I was informed that if there were any other problems with the laptop, they would fix it and ultimately up the price. When I picked up my laptop I was informed there was slight water damage but that it was nothing significant that would damage my laptop. I was only charged the $250. I was also informed that if anything else happened to my backlight that their guarantee would cover any future issues. Fast forward to a week and my backlight goes out again. I drop my laptop off and informed the worker that I was told I would not have to pay for the backlight to be fixed again since I was given a guarantee. The worker confirmed this statement and added that if there were any other problems with my laptop that Fix My Gadget should have noticed it and that error would be on them. A couple of days go by without any updates so I decide to call. I am then transferred to the initial individual who I picked my laptop up from. She then informs me that I have SEVERE water damage on my motherboard and that an additional service is needed. For those who may not know, motherboard cleaning costs roughly $350. I am then told that she was able to get the price down to $140. At this point, I am confused since I was given multiple guarantees that this mistake is not on me and that I would not have to pay for it. She then explains that the "slight water damage" was actually a severe problem that was causing my backlight to continuously go off. There was a note left by the individual who fixed my laptop that noted that my laptop would break again due to this issue (most likely in the upcoming weeks). Yet, I was not informed of this information. Instead, the information was twisted and I was lied to. For background information, my MacBook Pro is from 2012. This company knew that if they had told me that my motherboard needed to be fixed as well as my backlight, I would most likely not drop $600 on such an old laptop and therefore not use their service. I was scammed. They knew my laptop would break again (I was not given that information until later) and that I would need it to be fixed again. Eventually, after talking to the manager (Samuel), he pushed the price down to $90. Ultimately I paid $340 for this laptop to be fixed. Not to mention, it took them almost a week to fix it the second time when my finals were going on. I find it absolutely DISGUSTING that this company withheld vital information regarding my laptop that ultimately altered my decision-making process - if I was given all the information, they knew they would lose a customer since no one would drop $600 on a laptop that is from 2012. Went in for a shattered screen. Hadn't been dropped but I bumped into something and it hit perfectly in between the case and gorilla glass shattering the screen underneath. That's life, right? Well I brought my phone to them on my lunch break and they fixed it in 20 minutes. Awesome, right? Well in the week following my screen stopped responding to touch. I'd have to shut it down and turn it back on for it to respond again. Before I got the chance to take it back in, I woke up one morning and the phone wouldn't turn on and she hasn't come back to life since then. They told me that I likely fried my battery (even though the phone wasn't dead as a phone call would go through to it) and if my battery fried their screen or whatever, they couldn't give me any of the $280 back that I had JUST GIVEN THEM a week ago. So basically I find it odd and an extreme coincidence that a week after they were in the phone, it dies, but naturally, it's not their fault.. Phone was working just fine before they touched it with the broken screen. If you have an iphone, don't waste your time with them. Bite the bullet of not having a phone for a little bit and send it in to Apple to have it fixed and done right and also done with actual apple parts. It's A. cheaper (even if you don't have applecare or it's out of warranty) and B. you have a better chance of your phone not being broken a week later. Take my advice or don't. I cannot believe what a negative experience I had with this place. I will never go back there again! I took my laptop in for a minor repair because one of the hinges broke and the screen casing had started to separate a little bit in the bottom corner of the screen, due to the broken hinge. They quoted me a price which I did not think was unreasonable, said they could fix it, they just had to order some parts and I left the store relieved and excited that I was finally going to get it fixed. I had explained to them that I am a professional photographer and I use my laptop every time I work at the hospitals so it was going to be a real burden to not have it for any amount of time, and they reassured me that I would have it back within a week or so. They wound up having it for 3 weeks!!! Over the course of those 3 weeks, they flat out lied to me several times promising to call me back once they found out what was going on and why the parts they ordered hadnt been delivered yet. Hell at one point they said they couldnt even find the tracking number for the part they had ordered or say for sure if they even actually ordered the part yet! And to make it even worse, they did not even end up fixing the hinge or the screen casing! Their explanation as to why their "fix" did not hold was simply to tell me that HP laptops are known to have this issue and its just going to keep happening over and over. So I left, with my laptop in the exact same condition it was in when I had dropped it off 3 weeks prior. I wound up taking my laptop to a clients husband who works on computers and he showed me where there were 3 screws missing inside the monitor casing by the hinge and said well no wonder their "fix" didnt hold- they didnt put any screws back in it! I could not believe what I went through with this place. The staff honestly seemed like a bunch of kids who had no clue on how to run that place, or handle any sort of customer service issues...I am a little shocked to see that they have any positive reviews at all! Maybe they need to stick to replacing cell phone screens and not give the impression or the promise that they are capable of fixing anything more than that. read more

They fixed a cracked screen, water damage, and charger port in a reasonable time and a fair cost. However, the screen shattered again two weeks later, in my back pocket. I was sitting on it but that wasn't out of the ordinary in the last two years I had the phone. I called and they don't offer a warranty on this type of breakage because it's assumed to be my fault. It makes me feel like this was a cheaper glass or something because it shattered without a fall or drop. I took my iphone in for a shattered screen. I'm not sure what happened to it, it wasn't dropped and I do not recall bumping into anything, but I pulled it out of my front pocket and the screen was shattered. The girl working said that the whole LCD needed replaced. She pushed on the LCD and it made a shadow (I can do that to ANY LCD and it will make a shadow). I think she just didnt want to replace the glass because it takes more time than plopping in a new LCD with the glass already attached. The LCD was fine,again there was no trauma to my phone. I left and went to a competitor. They fixed the glass only and was even more reasonably priced. I saved $50 by walking out the door and my phone works perfect, including the LCD. read more

This place is a joke. I went in to get an estimate for a glass replacement on my Note 2 (already an ancient phone but I'm waiting for the GN5) and they said it'd be over $220!! I asked for a reason, saying that the glass is less than $5 shipped on Amazon, and they explained that most will break the screen when replacing the glass. I said "So you assume you're going to break the screen when doing a simple glass replacement?" to which they had no answer. Absolutely ridiculous. I went to fix my gadget to have the adhesive on my glass reapplied because a corner was coming up from the phone. I have a Galaxy Note 4. I was quoted $75! And the salesman stated it was all for labor. And that's only if they didn't crack the screen, to which I assume I would be charge the $250 for new glass, which is ABSURD! When we came back an hour later (had some errands to run) the phone was done. Looks and works just like new. Price was a few dollars less than some competitors were advertising. I broke my screen and took it in and they fixed it- BUT after that, a few weeks later I noticed the glass was peeling off. I took it in and they fixed it again, but the same thing happened. I've been in 5 times and each time they fix it, only to have the same thing happen. FINALLY, I asked them to fix it right and they did... but this time the dictation function and siri didn't work! Then I took it in to get that fixed and now the finger print ID doesn't work and the battery life in almost nothing. Each time it has gotten worse and worse. read more

I went in at 3:45 and they quoted me an amount a little higher than my insurance but when I told them what my insurance was going to be they matched it. It was done by 4:05 and it looked brand new! If someone comes in at 10:45am, and you close at 1:00, don't tell them you'll get their phone done by 12:45pm. Showed up at 12:45pm to pick it up, and found out they hadn't even started on my phone.
