I cannot express how thankful you will be if you go literally anywhere else for your repair.
My experience started on March 5, 2026 last year, when I spilled water on my macbook. I contacted FixMobile because they are local, and I am a student so I needed a quick fix. It started with him quoting me for the repair, which went smoothly, so I dropped off the computer with the idea that he would get the part in about a week, and he would repair it when he had time after that. He also stated that if this repair didn't fix the issue, I would receive a full refund. Unfortunately, the part took a while to come in due to shipping, not his fault, but then on the 17th he said it needs more TLC and he ordered a few more parts. On the 23rd he informed me that he had to order a different version of the original part, as he ordered the wrong one. So 20 days in, and we're starting over again. Once this was done on apr 1st, I asked if I could pick it up, and he said "you cool with letting it do its thing overnight and I'll test it tomorrow. Or do you want to come grab it". Then prefaced it with "no clue if it'll work" followed by "...might be best for you to come grab it".
This is where the repair became a smaller issue, and his attitude came up. I got the computer back, and it still wasn't working after charging so I called in before he closed. He essentially said it's your fault you wanted to come get it before I could test it, and that he needs it back to do more. During this conversation I swore, not directed at him, and he flipped out on me over it. Ended up getting him the computer back and he texts me later saying "Apologize for being direct. I'm beyond slammed and it's taking its toll." It ends up needing a new battery, which he replaces. On Apr 7th, I finally got my computer back, "working flawlessly". Little did I know, over the summer, the laptop would have more issues and eventually start losing connection with the battery, becoming unusable very quickly. After texting, he says it sounds like a defective battery again. Over text during this, he was relatively professional, but in person, had a crazy attitude, and found a problem with everything I did. I had a friend come with me once, just to see what I was dealing with, and he immediately thought the guy was super disrespectful. He told me it's working, and that he adjusted the touchpad, because he didn't do it right the first two times I got it back. Over text: "I loosened the tension and it def seems better". When I went to pick it up again I ask if he cares if I test it real quick before I leave and he says, "I'm not sure what you want to test, I didn't change anything like I told you" in a crazy rude tone. The trackpad was better, but still not functioning like the original.
Finally, the computer started having issues where it would fully power down, trying to reboot, cutting out, and repeating. I text him information from this, and this was his reply: "Clearly doesn't have anything to do with hardware or battery". There was much more said, so check the google review for those screenshots please. short summary bc I can't include photos: He told me "this has to stop" bc I texted him late at night on the number he gave me for his buisness contact. I told him hes been a pain in the ass and that I was leaving reviews and reports, and then he threatened to report me to my universities student affairs office; an organization that is completely inapplicable to the situation, and I'm left with an unbelievable amount of wasted time, down the $285 for the repair, and an unusable, expensive laptop. I have now bought a new one because I was so frustrated with the situation, so I am out another $1,000.
Also, I looked up the issue, and it can be caused by battery issues. Not saying google is super accurate, but after my experiences, I trust it way more than this man's opinions. Not sure what his name is, seemed like the guy that owned it. read more
