Tonight I'm having dinner with a couple of friends, and it's our first time dining here. Tucci's…read morehas been on my list for quite some time--I've walked by it over the years always saying, "We should eat there someday." Well, today is that day. It's located in a busy, very popular area, and on a nice evening the atmosphere is hard to beat. Families, couples, and food lovers stroll through the charming Old Town Dublin streets. After dinner, it's common to wander across the bridge to Bridge Park or join the long (but worth-it) line for ice cream. Honestly, don't stress about the wait--where else do you have to be? Just relax and enjoy the night. Walking in was a "wow" moment. The sunken dining room has a beautiful, garden-like feel that immediately draws you in. I loved the ambiance right away, and we were greeted warmly as soon as we arrived. One small surprise--I expected to be hit with those rich Italian cooking aromas, but didn't notice much coming from the kitchen. For dinner, we ordered the rosemary focaccia with truffle butter, sausage and shrimp rigatoni, chicken fettuccine alla vodka, a Caesar salad, and a house salad. The focaccia was a hit across the table. My friends both ordered the fettuccine and really enjoyed it--I tried it as well and agree it was the standout dish. Unfortunately, my Caesar salad and the sausage and shrimp pasta fell flat. Both lacked flavor and were disappointing. I did try the house salad, though, and its dressing was excellent. So it seems like I may have just missed on my menu choices. Service, however, was the biggest issue of the night. The restaurant was not busy, but our waitress seemed to lack attention to our table. We often found ourselves looking around trying to track her down. When she did stop by, she would leave quickly without checking if we needed anything, and we had to call her back multiple times just to place orders or ask for help. She was friendly, but the service felt inattentive throughout the evening. Overall, we loved the atmosphere and the vibe, but I don't see me coming back any time soon for the food.

The staff made us feel right at home and were very attentive. Our server, Sammy was very sweet and fun! My favorite touch was their pre-printed birthday menus. They definitely know how to make someone feel special. We ordered a bottle for the table to pair with our tapas. We tried the churassco, wine braised chorizo, and ordered a paella de marisco. The tapas portions are enough to have as a meal or 2 to be really stuffed. The paella portions are huge and are enough to serve about 2-3 people. I was pleasantly surprised how good the paella turned out since moving from Miami I have been very skeptical of any Latin or seafood in Columbus (sorry...) but the flavors were delicious!! They also gave us a free dessert for my boyfriend's birthday and it was also sooo delicious. I would definitely return, especially after finding out about their happy hour. It's a great little spot for a date or a celebration of any kind but make sure to let them know ahead of time so they can make your night special.

YE Gurl Says: A Lucky Find During Barcelona's Independent Restaurant Week…read more Place:Barcelona (Independent Restaurant Week Find) Date: March 2026 Sometimes the best meals are the ones you didn't plan. A casual drop-in while exploring Barcelona turned into a full experience thanks to Independent Restaurant Weeks--and not just a few days... weeks. Now that's how you support your local restaurant scene. We happened upon a spot participating in the $45 prix-fixe menu, and without hesitation, we were in. Since we lean pescatarian/vegetarian, we navigated the menu accordingly--and honestly, the options held their own. First Course Options Included: * Gazpacho (chilled tomato, cucumber, olive oil) * Ensalada César with aged manchego and guajillo crouton * Sopa de Ajo (garlic soup with jamón, egg, saffron) Second Course Highlights: * Paella de Barcelona (classic mix with seafood and meats) * Paella Roja (beetroot sofrito, beans, cauliflower, fenugreek yogurt) * Salmon with leeks, olive tapenade, asparagus, mushrooms, crème fraîche * Chuleta (pork chop with a full composed plate) Dessert Options: * Tres Leches de Fresa (strawberry three milks cake) * Johnson's seasonal sorbet or ice cream * Plato de Quesos with figs, lavender honey, and rosemary crostini We opted for the pescatarian and veggie-friendly selections, and the standout for me was the Paella Roja--a creative, earthy twist that didn't feel like a compromise. Balanced, flavorful, and thoughtful. The structure of the meal was clean, no substitutions (respect), and paced in a way that let you actually enjoy each course without feeling rushed. YE Gurl says: Stumbling into Restaurant Week while traveling is a win every time--but Barcelona doing it for multiple weeks? Even better. It's a reminder that some of the best culinary experiences happen when you stay open, go local, and let the city surprise you.
