They will smile in your face and take your money . I bought a car here and it arrived with mudd all over the seat . They botched the instalation of my hitch cut out so bad ,it looked like they used scissors to cut through plastic. When I informed Stephen Murphy I was un happy he avoided the issue for a whole year and then kept on avoiding the issue . The owner personally insulted me calling me a cry baby also telling me I wasn't a man . The owner also demanded to know what I did for a living and when I told him it was none of his buisness he also called me rude. I will never buy a subaru ever again due to the way I was treated by these people . With subaru five star service stops at the buck and I would recommend buying any other car. After buying two vehicles and taking three cars here for service over the course of over 15years I can say that they mean what they say when they say they have HEART. Every time I'm there I am reminded of why I continue to take my cars there. Everyone there asks me if I need anything, have I been helped, how can I be helped. They never recommend services that I don't need, and if I have questions they take the time to show me the answers respectfully. Also I really appreciate their new service acknowledgement system. Our Experience was with Elise when stepping into your dealership on Saturday May 3rd. She treated us with a quiet respect while sharing with us her knowledge and background of selling cars. This absolutely beautiful women won both of our hearts. Within a very short time I realized how super intelligent and confident Elise was, we looked at several of your used Subaru vehicles and drove a couple before we left and within 24 hours we were back to drive a 1922 green Forester and of course the end of the story is Elise knew what we could afford and how unhappy we were with the 2022 Nissan we wanted to trade in. After test driving the Forester we immediately signed paperwork and this story has a happy ending. we took it for a long drive and couldn't be happier. They're in it for the money. We bought a Subaru here and the transmission died after 100,000 miles. They offered us $200 for a trade-in, despite the fact that we'd just put $2000 of work into the car the day before. They also sent us on a wild goose chase for a month with Subaru of America to try and get some support, and I was told at the end that they new the request would not go through. My 2 year old crosstrek was making a noise in the blower fan and I thought it was under warranty but since it was just a cabin filter they charged me $55 just to diagnose the car and changed nothing. Took them an hour to figure that out. Have your car diagnosed elsewhere to figure out if it's an issue covered under warranty. read more

I'm not a huge fan of having my car serviced at dealers, but it was the only place that could take me for a NY state inspection. I saw a special on-line, so I tried them. They were very nice, they even let me use an office to get work done while they were inspecting my car. I don't own a Subaru so I was pleasantly surprised. read more

Love this place! Bought my Subaru here five years ago and have been back many times since for maintenance and emergencies. They're fast, friendly, and reasonably priced. Even better, the people who work here are real human beings you can actually talk to. I always trust them about what needs to be done and what doesn't. And even though they're always super busy over there they never seem impatient or irritable. Ask for Jeff to buy a car. I took my vehicle to this dealership instead and they diagnosed and fixed the problem ahead of schedule and informed me that the repair was covered by warranty. I took my 2007 Subaru Impreza in to the shop because I was having a problem where the key was stuck in the ignition. My car is currently under an extended warranty covering all parts and labor. They diagnosed the problem as the Viper remote starter--literally the only part of the car not covered by the warranty since it is 3rd party and added after purchase. This seemed suspicious to me because a stuck key is generally a mechanical problem and I don't understand how a remote starter (which is electric) could have an impact on the mechanical key system. I took the car into the SUNY Delhi autoshop, where they charge $20 for all work they do (they don't do everything, but they do a lot, and are very friendly). It took a student an hour to determine the two problems, neither of which had anything to do with the remote starter. They replaced both of the faulty parts and now the car works perfectly--including the remote starter. This was not the first time I've gone to Five Star. I've generally been left with the impression that their main goal is to sell un-needed or overly-cautious service to paranoid people, and when they can't do that, they resort to scare tactics. One person told my wife that she was risking her life by not buying new tires right away (they needed to be changed, but not immediately--they had 1/8" of tread left). I was really irritated by their refusal to service the car, which was under warranty, by searching for the only part which wasn't covered. Turned out to be completely wrong. Either it was a shady and dishonest diagnosis or they don't know what they're doing. In any case, I'd avoid their shop. On top of that, about a year ago, I had an overheating engine, and I knew that this model of car if famous for a bad head gasket material, so I suspected that. I took it in, and they identified the radiator, which was not original Subaru but a 3rd party, as the problem. So I let them replace it and paid for it. That did not solve the overheating problem and a couple of days later, I had to return and they finally admitted that it was, in fact, the head gasket. They finally did that job, under warranty, but not before fleecing me for $400 for a radiator swap which didn't need to happen. They are very, very good at calling and reminding you of scheduled maintenance and basically any other thing to get you into the shop. But in my experience, they're not good mechanics. Plus, they're either dishonest about their diagnosis or they're not skilled. In either case, you're better off with anyone else, including students at the local college who charge $20. I've also had much better luck with Rich in Delhi at the intersection of Main ST and RT. 28. Basically, I'll never go back to these jokers. Even with a full warranty which doesn't expire for a year, I'll drive the extra distance to have it serviced by a more honest shop. read more

I had the best car buying experience of my life at Five Star Subaru. Best price, no hassle, no hard sell on bogus add-on stuff like undercoating, etc. They throw in their own extended warranty at no additional cost, which makes their price even better. We traveled from Binghamton 60+ miles because the local guy lied to us, and the guy in Ithaca was apparently not that interested in making a sale. We knew what car we wanted, they had it on the lot, and we were able to drive it home that same morning. They keep their website updated and they respond in a timely fashion to e-mails. We will get the car serviced at Five Star also as they seem to be a class operation. read more

If i could leave minus stars I would! Brought car in for inspection and oil change. Some how they loosened my lug nuts and never tightened them i almost died on the highway. Then they left me leave and my car was shaking uncontrollably. I took the car back they did address the problem but under their care the muffler was taking off and put in my trunk. I had no idea they did any of this and now my car cannot be driven. Do not bring your car even to get inspected to this place! read more

Brought my car in for basic service with the understanding I will be driving for or a week straight putting on several hundred miles. I have brought my 2009 Forester to Five Star Subaru twice for some maintenance and service. I know I could probably get the work done cheaper somewhere else, but I really trust these guys. I find that they are very thorough, honest and realistic. If you can go another 5k miles without fixing something right away, they'll let you know - but at least you know what to expect after 5k miles. I am very comfortable bringing my car there for service and will continue to do so, even for oil changes. read more
