They have treated my yard for the last 3 yrs. I have consistently expressed concern about the terrible condition of my grass. My yard deteriorated to the point that it was 90% destroyed. About 7 months after I moved in, my neighbor stopped me and said he couldn't believe how much better my yard looked. I have a full acre, and somehow it looks better than some of the tiny, perfectly manicured lawns in the neighborhood. All I do is mow. That's it. I let 5 Star Fertilizer and Weed Control handle the rest, and they absolutely crush it. Thick grass, deep green color, barely any weeds. They make it look like I spend hours out there every week when in reality I don't. Now my neighbor uses 5 Star too, and between the two of us, we're basically the envy of the neighborhood. This company destroyed my yard & killed my 20 year old red oak tree by using roundup ( Ranger pro)!! He was operating WITHOUT a license from May 31, 2021 - November 18, 2023 and was fined by the TDA!! The Texas department of Agricultural opened a case against him the damage is so bad & he lied about what he was using for the treatments on my yard. All of a sudden he couldn't access his records when the TDA showed up! To this day he has not taken responsibility for the damage & continues to lie about it. read more

Brandon and team destroyed my lawn. I handed my lawn over to them because life was getting too busy to handle it myself, and I thought they'd help keep it looking good. Instead, it's now the worst-looking lawn on my street. I've had to spend money and time on re-sodding and re-seeding just to try and bring it back to life. Every time I called them about missed spots or other issues, they just promised to fix it the next time but never actually took any responsibility. When I finally contacted them to cancel my contract, they told me that I need to get rid of Bermuda because it doesn't do well here -- except that literally all my neighbors have great lawns w/ Bermuda and I had managed it myself for about 5 years w/o issue. He told me that my neighbors probably have weeds and that I do not. I don't see any weeds in my neighbors yard but he is correct that I don't have any weeds -- I also don't have any grass. If you hate your grass and want the worst lawn on your street, I recommend them. Otherwise, stay away. read more

Five Star is a great local family-owned company. I've been using them for years . They treat my yard for grub worms, lawn insects & have been tackling away at my Dallis grass -crabgrass . Communication is wonderful and I highly recommend five Star. read more

I have been using this company for a few months now, and my lawn looks terrible. There are about 5-8 different strains of weeds in the lawn, and they are all doing just fine. He performed a lawn aeration service for me as well as applied a weed killer / fertilizer treatment all for a fair price. He was friendly and showed up on time to do the work.
