We have been coming here for over a decade every year for the bluegrass festival. John and Joyce are wonderful people. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. This is a little bit of heaven in West (by G-d) Virginia.

I volunteer here and it is an absolute pleasure! The owners couldn't be nicer or more accommodating to their visitors!! They go above and beyond! Even to the point of going to pick up and pull the camper of one of the visitors when their truck blew up! I also know how clean their bathrooms and showers are! It's a beautiful campground and you're missing out if you don't give them a try!!

This is our 2nd time visiting 5 Rivers Campground and once again, we had a delightful experience. The staff is extremely helpful and every campsite is river front! We loved hanging our hammock next to the river and the firewood bundle delivered to the campsite is a great deal. The owners are very responsive and we loved that we could bring our dog for river fun as well. Cannot wait to return again. The weather is always so great here, nice and hot in the summer, but cool evenings - perfect for a fire! This is close to Blackwater Falls, Davis, Thomas - cute little towns with nice shops. Next time I want to check out the brewery!!

I had the pleasure of spending my Fourth of July holiday at Five River Campground with a handful of friends and I was not disappointed. The Five Rivers property is made up of several acres nestled next to Shavers Fork near the Monongahela National Forest. The grounds are very well maintained and there is more than ample space for many, many tents. RV Sites are level and the people RVing I spoke with were extremely nice. As far as campground facilities go, this is pretty top notch! The shower & restroom facilities are *very* well maintained, clean and as a welcome surprise very spacious. If that wasn't enough, the showers and sinks are fitted with Kohler or Moen fixtures. On-site washer/dryer facilities are also a great touch to help with clothing after a swim in the river. For those that need it, they even offer WiFi for a fee. Costs to stay the night, be it RV or Tent, are very reasonable. They do get you a little when it comes to firewood ($5/smallish bundle), but that's really the only negative thing I can possibly think of. All in all, Five Rivers Campground is a very lovely campground with friendly people that I look forward to visiting again. A few things to keep in mind while planning your visit: 1. There are absolutely no picnic tables. Make sure to byo table or be prepared to use your tailgate for everything. 2. The McDonalds, less than a mile away, sells bags of ice for only $1. 3. AT&T has great cell phone reception here. The other carriers, not so much.

This place is a hidden gem. There are endless grass fields for kids to run around in, a gorgeous river to swim and fish in, and a clean peaceful camping area backdropped with stunning mountains. The simple amenities are just right, the grounds are well kept, and the owners are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. We loved our stay - favorite campground find on our trip by far!

Debbie and Gene were super nice and very welcoming with plenty of stories to tell. Loved the song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver played every night. There's a dumpster where you can leave your trash instead of packing it out. Seems well-run. You can't see the river from the campsites (not ours, at least) but it's quite accessible. Our site (number 39) had a path (somewhat treacherous and steep) down to the water. Once you complete the circuit, it's a short walk to ride by again. Some of the rapids are a bit rough and could be dangerous for kids. Bring everything you need. Once you're at your campsite, it's a long way back to civilization to pick up anything you forgot. It's a fairly long drive to Dolly Sods but hiking there is beautiful. Things to know: BYO tube. Bring water shoes. River can be a bit shallow with big rocks and you need foot protection. Three packs of firewood for $20. Buy earlier in the day rather than right at dusk. Bring cash. One picnic table per campsite. Road in is a bit rough and twisty. There are signs about how to take care of your food and trash as to avoid attracting bears. There's a pole you can hang trash from at your site, which is convenient.

We found all the staff at Eagle's Nest to be very pleasant, friendly and accommodating. We had about 15 rigs, and rented one cabin. Paul placed us in sites very near each other, and close to the pavilion which perfectly met our needs for the event. The pavilion near the creek, with electricity, lighting, a nearby restroom, and running water, was a great set-up for our group meetings and meals. Paul even set up a fire ring near the pavilion for our evening campfire and music. The camp facilities were very clean and level, with full services at each site. The restaurant on site (Fireside Inn) has an extensive menu. Try the cauliflower soup ... it is FABULOUS. Eagles Nest is conveniently located near Cumberland, MD - a great local tourism spot with museums, shops, restaurants, and a scenic railroad ride. The campground is still a work in progress and we look forward to going back to see how it is coming along. Paul has a great vision for further improvements and is working hard toward that end. With a mix of seasonal and transient residents, most in self-contained units, there is little need for public facilities. Some in our group might have preferred a public bathhouse (in future development plan), but the lack of a public bathhouse would not prevent our return. Happy trails ...

We had a great experience at Eagle's Nest September 2019, our 39th annual 'Rolling Thunder' rally. The camping, accommodations, food and entertainment were some of the best we have enjoyed. I enjoyed flyfishing on Patterson Creek, on the banks of which I pitched my tent. The Club had a great time and we will surely return in the future. Thanks Paul, et. al.! John T.
