    Cabin 10

Harman's was a great place to spend a few days. Cabin 10 is perfect for a couple, the bed is comfortable, the kitchen is spacious, the bathroom has great water pressure and the hot tub is secluded. The check in process is easy, stop by the main building that is across from the cabin grounds. Let them know you've arrived, pay your balance and right off to your cabin. The staff doesn't come around much but is helpful if needed. I had an issue with the fireplace but once quick visit and the issue was resolved. Location is isolated, no cell service but they do have WiFi in every cabin, WiFi was good enough for keeping up with the outside world but not good enough to maintain streaming through any video service. This is actually for the better, being there should be about enjoying company or the beautiful surroundings. They do have satellite television for those that want to binge or for later at night when it is too dark to fish or hike. Great place to take a break from the world and enjoy the beautiful property and nature around it.

Yep, I still love Harman's! This year we stayed at cabin 19 which is a pet lovers luxury cabin. You would not know it when entering the cabin as it smells fresh and clean! Wifi and direct tv were clutch as it was a holiday weekend and football Sunday. The cabin is perfect for "glamping". The downstairs shower has full force water pressure which I love! There is a great fire pit in the back yard with a picnic bench and the hot tub was definitely put to good use! It is close to smokehole caverns which is a excellent tour and close to dolly sods hiking. There is no cell service for miles so that definitely took some getting used to. Another observation, there was a neighboring house that prominently displayed a confederate flag. The view was not as spectacular as their many other cabins as cabin 19 is located off premises among a small neighborhood a few miles down the road. A bit hard to find considering there is no cell service to adjust your gps, but it is the only dog-friendly luxury cabin we've found in wv that is worth driving to. I will always live Harman's cabins and I'm very certain my family will visit every year!

Beautiful setting - lovely cabins. But don't forget that West Virginia has bears! More characters to meet minimum of 85.

The location is amazing, the beds are incredibly comfortable, the hotel and grounds are spotless, and 24/7 free coffee is great. Now on to the bad. The biggest disappointment of the trip was that this is the only dog friendly place in the area that isn't an expensive cabin and you can't even leave your dog in the room by itself to go outside to smoke a cigarette- there were 2 things my boyfriend and I wanted to do without the dog, go to Smoke Hole caverns (which doesn't allow dogs you can't carry) and go have a sit down dinner 1 night and we couldn't even go smoke a cigarette without having to harness her up every time. The other complaints are that a second floor walkup sucks with a ton of luggage and having to bring the dog back and forth each time, there wasn't a chair in the room which made eating uncomfortable, the shower pressure was so bad I couldn't wash my thick hair in under an hour, there was seemingly no cold water in the sink or shower, there was no clock in the room (which I still appreciate in the age of cellphones), the complimentary breakfast was basically just pre-packaged cake, the complimentary toiletries were worthless, but what was crazy to me was that they didn't even provide hand soap or a bar of soap at the bathroom sink, and, as everyone has said, you can hear everything through the walls. Through it all, I would stay here again simply because of the location, this is an area where you want to be outdoors most of the time, but I really would have liked to be able to leave my dog in a room that I'm paying an extra $100 to have her in.

Each room has it's own outdoor space, and the area behind the property has been thoughtfully done to give guests plenty of places to sit, swing, or just hang out by a fire. It was too chilly for the pool while we were there, but it looked very inviting. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, and the entire place was kept impeccably clean. There is even a self-service area for snacks and drinks, or things you may have forgotten to bring along from home. There is access to the lake, as well as a place to dock a boat, if you have one. There are also plenty of interior gathering areas that are comfortable to hang out if the weather isn't cooperating. I would highly recommend Cove Creek Lodge to anyone looking for a place to stay at Deep Creek.

We stayed on the lake view in room 216, with two queen beds. The room was lovely. We were surprised there was a microwave, dishwasher, glasses, plates and utensils along with a mini fridge too. It was perfect as we had brought some cocktails with us and were able to keep them chilled and do a little tasting of our own. It felt so fancy. We enjoyed so much of the property. We sat on our patio to read, went to the lake and sat and enjoyed the sunset, my friend went kayaking and saw other couples enjoying the kayaks as well. We hopped in the heated pool and enjoyed some corn hole. The first night we were easily able to walk to Honi Honi and Unos and the Casstleman Bakery and cafe we enjoyed walking to twice for lunch and breakfast. It is a busy street to cross without a cross walk, but we crossed at the light when it was on green. Hopefully a crosswalk will be added for additional safety. Unfortunately the internet/tv was out during our 2night, 3 day stay, but it wasn't really a problem as there was so much to do and we were really able to talk and enjoy each other's company and conversation! I would definitely recommend visiting and will absolutely be back again! Don't forget to take a trip to the FireFly Market and cheese shop. Cheese and wine pairings are so much fun and not far at all!
