It appears to have been recently renovated but still shows its age in certain areas. The room was large and the beds comfortable but ours hadn't been cleaned very well. There were dried in food particles near the coffee maker and we found a baseball cap in the closet and socks under the sink. The elevator doesn't look like it was touched in the reno and the bathroom still looked a little rough around the door and shower. Also the doors block absolutely no sound. We were woken up by the conversations of every person walking by each morning. And they were not yelling. It was just normal people leaving their room volume. We actually had to move rooms because the first one we were assigned was 58 degrees when we walked in. The thermostat was set to 52 and it wouldn't stop running even though we turned it up. The front desk clerk was very friendly and quick to give us another room though. It wasn't horrible but considering it was basically the same price as several other hotels in the general area you have plenty of other places to choose from.

I think the hotel is in the…read moremidst of a renovation because the rooms all seemed new, but the elevator was kind of old, noisy and dirty. Also there was absolutely no furniture in the lobby. Very weird to walk into a hotel and not see any seating in the lobby. Blow up Christmas decorations were there but nothing else. I'm assuming they haven't finished decorating or haven't gotten the furniture replaced because it doesn't look anything like the photos online. Good location near town and very close to several restaurants and shopping.

This was the BEST miniature golf ever. We had such an amazing time here…read more This is an indoor, black light, 13 hole course and even if you don't LOVE cryptids now, you will once you finish this course! We found this course because we were checking out the West Virginia Paranormal Trail and when we arrived it was raining and they were closed but we decided to wait a while outside until they opened and I am SO glad we did. It's $12 per person but you can go through again for only $5 if you want. We probably would have done another round ourselves but time wasn't on our side. They give you a "lore card" and a score card so you get to learn all about the cryptids they feature while you play through and it is just so much fun. My favorites were the Flatwoods Monster and of course the Moth Man but it was cool to learn about some I had never heard of before as well and honestly we were tickled and smiling the whole time we were inside. It is small and does get warm inside and we were lucky that there were only a few other people when we went because they started getting busy as we were leaving and it was pretty cramped. If anything I hope that encourages them to open a larger spot and add even more holes. The owners were lovely too. They were warm and friendly and they had a super eclectic and well curated gift shop at the end of the course. We ended up getting a candle and some snacks but believe me, I wanted everything. I even asked about buying a display stand they were using for merch because it was so adorable and they made a joke about everything having a price. Then, as we were walking out, I saw a mask on the wall that I knew my hubby would love so I walked back and asked if they would sell me that. It turns out they had one in the back that they had had forever and were happy to sell it to me. The price was reasonable too so it was just a cherry on an already incredible experience. I beat my husband by a WHOPPING 11 strokes btw but that tidbit is really just for me. I hope the rest of the review was helpful and entices you to head over and support this fantastic establishment. You won't regret it.

Spooooooky!) but the theming and elaborate props make it a worthwhile experience. The holes are fun, and each one is based on a local or semi-local spooky story. The staff was excellent, and had a wealth of knowledge and information about West Virginia cryptids, and general spookiness and mysteries well beyond what's covered in the course. The gift shop was very impressive -- small, and packed with cool things. We spent more money there than I was intending, but I also wouldn't mind returning to play another round and make a few more purchases. My kids could have also spent hours having their questions answered by the staff. I highly recommend this course

Contacted Rich's Farms in June, and spoke to Garrety (sp), lovely lady, intelligent conversation, and she advised me of 90 warranty which would consist of exchange only, and what to look for regarding the tree's progress. Since their warranty is only for 90 days we returned tree today after it was clearly dead. I was speaking to employee Beth and a employee by name of Tara arrived, pulled tree out of bag, stepped back with what I perceived as dramatic behavior with affect and posturing that appeared to indicate all of her senses had been assaulted, stating "root rot!" I said I'm confused, all the other trees are doing fine. She looked at me, and said, very slowly, enunciating each syllable with pressured speech, "ROOT ROT!" Lovely way to begin one's day, being treated as if I were an idiot and she possessing the right to insult me in such a perceived condescending manner. i later expressed my upset with Beth to which she indicated Tara was an expert in plants. I indicated I was an expert in my field and would not ever treat or speak to my patients in such a condescending manner. Suggested Tara not interact with public in the future. Having purchased three other trees, I do not see myself exercising my rights to exchange. Life is too short to be exposed to such persons. I do however, want to express my gratitude to Beth. She patiently and professionally explained root rot to me; precautions to take with new tree; proactive measures with other trees we had purchased; what to look for and what to do if certain signs of rot appeared. It's a shame that my patronage and enjoyment of this facility was tainted by one person. The two stars are only because of Beth. The overall experience was unpleasant, and she took a lot of the sting away.
