Another serene outlet for me. Out of all of the parks I've visited thus far, Five Islands Park makes me the happiest. The park is surrounded by water and includes walking trails, picnic areas, a small children's playground and a Gazebo overlooking the water. FIP used to have a decent sized beach area, possibly man made, but has since washed away. During the Summer months group and individual Kayaking/Paddle Boarding lessons were offered. Unsure if these activities are still available due to the recent pandemic. There are plenty of benches scattered around to allow you to get lost in your thoughts while being one with nature. I enjoy the stillness and calm of the trees, I delight in watching the different species of birds while they flock together in flight or seamlessly paddle through the waters. I appreciate the playful antics of the squirrels scurrying about and most of all the tranquil, sun shimmering waters. FIP provides all these things and gives me that serenity I crave and if willing can do the same for you too. Covid 2020 TIP: Spring/Summer 2020, only New Roc residents were allowed entry to minimize occupancy.

This is a decent park if you are a resident of New Rochelle. It is not that big but there is good scenery with views of the water. There was a small area to BBQ and also a small area with sand, though I would not really call it a beach. It is a quiet and peaceful park, but not worth going out of your way to visit if you are not from the city.

This place was fun! There is a running/walking trail and lots of benches where you can sit and relax. The views are great, too! I'd definitely come back to walk here again. It was very relaxing. There were lots of kids here though. And the park doesn't allow dogs but almost everyone had one.

Additionally, it's kept more private, but not there's not tons of eateries so you have to bring your own food, but the bathrooms are amazing. Kept beautifully clean with changing rooms galore. It's an easy walk to the beach plenty of parking outside and people do go to the park outside, so it's wonderful there as well. Life preserves are given freely to those who cannot swim and encouraged, which is totally a plus as well. We sat there on the beach, waiting for the tide to come in. Had our food played some games with their hours and everyone was pleasant and nice too that came around. I actually would like to do this next year. I'm sorry I found out about this place this year at the end of the summer.

Lovely visit to Glen Island Park…read more While this park is restricted to Westchester residents only...there were no attendants when I visited on a late Friday morning in November. This restriction may be during the peak season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) but I am not sure. Lots of parking in large main lot. Again, I believe there is a fee for parking but that may be effective during the peak season only. Lots of space throughout the park. Some tabled, grilling and gazebo areas throughout...some of which require reservations for. Lots of paths with great views of the Long Island Sound and the marina.

I know that many parks on the western side of Westchester County require a Westchester County Park Pass or proof of Westchester County Residence. There were no signs or anything that said anything of the sort so we parked up and played. This park is lovely. It is very well kept. It has a lovely playground which is right next to the basketball courts. The courts have 4 regulation height hoops as well as 2 shorter hoops, which my little one loved. There is adequate space there to kick around a soccer ball or even fly a kite (yep, we did both). There is a baseball field there as well. I would imagine that the baseball field and the open field space (maybe used for soccer) is used for organized sports such as little league during the spring and summer. There is also a nice trailway which does not have too much to see besides some nice houses (I'm sure the residents there are thrilled with having tons of people look at their property, then again it could make for some great advertising). Overall we had a great time and I will likely to be returning. The park had everything we wanted and was clean and quiet enough. Also...gives me an excuse to go to Half Time...
