This place is so close to a 5... they meet the marks for what you'd expect of five guys food (fries n all), the folks behind the counter are easy to work with, and the times were pretty reasonable? Why the deduction? The facility needs to be cleaner. When we arrived, the tables were dirty, the floor slippery, and the bathroom... not great to put it nicely. Out of all the things this place needs to focus on, being more tidy needs to be elevated to the list. Overall, we'll be back, but I sure hope they clean up their act (or facility in this case). Food was absolutely awful Fries 1/2 the amount that you use to get and we're cold I asked for small fry cup so I could put vinegar on my fries cuz my husband didn't like vinegar and they refused to give me a dang cup like I was gonna still soda or something. Chain burger-joint in South Hill, site of impromptu family dinner "on the road" (pre-Thanksgiving travel). Access from Route 58 requires driving passed it, then double-backing through the neighboring gas station. Decent lighting and close proximity parking. Restrooms were dirty, complete with the slickest slip-n-slide inducing tile floor I've encountered since "back in the day" Denny's! Straight forward menu made ordering easy, though we did have 6 people taking advantage of the CYO limitless toppings perk. Counter service was fine, not overly bubbly but efficient. 1 cheeseburger, 5 little cheeseburgers (when in Rome) and 1 large fry totaled $46. Order number, printed on receipt, was called 10-15 minutes after ordering. Plenty of time to enjoy the free peanuts perk while waiting, though I had to ask for "boats" to be restocked. Beef patties were hot, juicy and tender. Noticed cheese on my burger wasn't melted buuuut, once opened, didn't stick around long enough to have a second chance. In a word, fries were perfect! Hot, golden brown, and slightly salted. Bottom of bag fries were saltier than others, sure tickets to high blood pressure (but still delicious). I was very happy Five Guys opened in Burlington. I love their fresh cooked hamburger and the fries are always the best. The place is small but adequate. The workers are very friendly and took extra time to make us feel welcome. The service was quick and the serving size was generous. The hamburger was tasty and the buns are very good quality. They have the new soda machines with many product selections with options like adding Vanilla, cherry, etc. The place was very clean and the cashier was always cleaning the tables, chair and floor after the sloppy customers. I have been to several 5 guys in different states, this one I was most skeptical about eating at since we had driven about 45 miles without seeing to any chains we recognized on 85 to stop at. However, the restaurant was clean (bathrooms and dining room), staff friendly and professional, the food was excellent all 5 guys could benefit from stopping in here. Staff was out in the dining area cleaning (saw 3 of them attending different things during our time there) and when we left the All wished us a Happy Holidays. I've been in here a million times and have even received a gift certificate from the manager for rude service years ago. With that said this place is hit and miss. Food is always good for the most part. Your order may be messed up slightly but usually not. The main thing here is the service.
