This was our first visit to this Five Guys location and, being a new location, everything was pretty well spot-on as far as a great Five Guys visit can be. One of the things I both like and dislike about Five Guys is menu choices.  I love that you build your own burger.  The menu is a list of items to add to your burger as you choose.  There are no pre-defined menu items.  You get to build your own bridge.  At the same time, sometimes my brain doesn't want to be a bridge builder, it just wants to look at a menu and pick a number. Not a detractor at all, but sometimes Jim's brain doesn't want to have to think too much. You have two choices for fries:  Regular and Cajun.  Jim's handy tip:  Get The Cajun.  And be hungry.  You'll get more fries (even when order a small) to feed 8 or 12 people.  I'm not joking. (ok...exaggerating maybe).  The fries are cut fresh from fresh potatoes in the store several times a day, which makes them just about my favorite. The red and white decor is fun and harkens back to the  soda fountain/burger joint days when people wore paper hats and aprons.  The overhead music is a good blend of old and new, and is not too loud.  The walls are decorated with newspaper articles from across the country singing Five Guys praises. The music on this particular visit was a bit loud. Actually it was REALLY loud. So loud that I could barely understand what the woman who was taking my order was saying. Between the mask and the louder-than-it-needed-to-be music, she'd have been better off using ASL because there was no conversation to be had. Do I like Depeche Mode? I LOVE Depeche Mode. Just not so loud that I feel like I'm in the front row at a concert when I really want is a frickin' burger. I think, too, that either someone else said something to one of the staff or someone heard my not-too-subtle comments about the music because about halfway through our meal the audio was turned down and auditory conversation could begin. Five Guys burgers are cooked when ordered, not like some other places.  Sure, it's going to take you a few minutes to get your food, but you'll know that it's fresh because you can watch the entire process.  Not all burger places give you that kind of visibility.

3/13 Update to previous review. This establishment is still doing a great job with socially distancing but I had to knock the rating down due to three different guests coming in not wearing masks as per the signs on the doors. I would hope this establishment would take it seriously being as they are a restaurant and should be ensuring their guests are safe by requiring customers to wear a mask. I hate that I have to say this but it is important and relevant in the current situation. Other than that, another amazing experience.

Hadn't been to Five Guys in a few years but was excited for this new addition on Veterans. The first time I placed and online order and all went smoothly. I will say the burgers and fries end up being a bit pricier than your average fast food because you have to buy everything separate. But I will also say that I believe it to be superior to other fast food burgers. If you go inside and order, expect it to take a little while as I think they are still training staff and working out the kinks. However, the service I have received on my handful of times in have all been good. Also, this last time I balled out and got a malted milkshake, and I'll say that I was not at all disappointed. The fries are some of my favorites, too. All in all a quality meal if you're craving that burger hitter.

Solid looking storefront.

If you've ever visited a Five Guys then you probably already know how warm and inviting the atmosphere is. The free peanuts and joyful attitude of the cashiers is very welcoming. Now the burgers, let's just say they're fantastic. Excellent toppings and thoroughly cooked patties to juicy perfection. I really appreciate their attention to details like the purity of the meat. No excessive fat or chew allowed. Their toppings are also diced nicely so you don't get any accidental burger slippage. Their fries accent the burger perfectly. They're fresh cut and salted generously. There really isn't much to complain about here. Just excellent burgers and fries.

My order was all wrong and cold and everyone seemed in a rush to get me out the door so they could close a little early.

We can't believe it took us this long to discover Pearl Street Taphouse. Although it's been around,…read moretonight was our family's first visit--and it absolutely will not be our last. There were six of us, and every single person at the table was genuinely thrilled with their meal. The food was outstanding across the board--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care--and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portions. We also enjoyed the drinks--a cider and a chocolate stout--both of which were excellent. It's rare to find a place where everyone walks away happy, but Pearl Street Taphouse managed it effortlessly. The unanimous decision before we even left was to meet back there again next week for dinner. That alone says everything. Highly recommend this local gem--we're already looking forward to our next visit.

A group of four that arrived after us was served, and left before our waitress brought our food. Our waitress was pleasant enough, but she was a ghost - we rarely saw her. Even water was slow to arrive. One man in our party went to his car to get his own water bottle. The fish nuggets in the fish and chips were not done. Potato salad had little flavor. The huge pretzel was a hit, but not much else. Too bad. We had high hopes. Addendum: the owner's response is basically the same excuse she's repeated to nearly every less than good review. 1,) I wish I'd read reviews first, 2,) they should actually work on improving food and process rather than making excuses if they don't want to close the doors.

Visited Grind Burger Kitchen in Louisville during a family trip and had a pretty mixed experience…read more We arrived around 6:30 PM and were told there would be about an hour wait, which was fine--we're new to town, so we figured we'd walk around and explore while we waited. We were told to come back at 7:00 PM, so we did. When we returned, we were seated, but then told it would be another hour before our order could even be taken and our food brought out. That part was really frustrating--if we had known that upfront when we first put our name down, we could have planned differently. As for the food, it was decent. The burger itself was delicious and definitely the highlight. The fries were very oily but crispy--I personally liked them since I prefer well-done fries, but my daughter wasn't a fan. The layout of the place was also a bit confusing--it took a while to even find the restroom since it was tucked away in another area. Service-wise, I also had to ask for a refill--and only got one--which was disappointing, especially with such a big burger. Overall, spending close to three hours from arrival to finishing our meal just didn't feel worth it, especially with the lack of communication about wait times and limited service. Not a terrible spot food-wise, but the experience could definitely be improved.

I was getting nervous. They are about to close. They said Uber driver picked it up about 4 minutes ago. I said ok I wait some more. I called again at 10:13pm. They were kind enough to pick up and confirm again it was Uber. The problem is I didn't order with Uber I ordered on their website. "Contact Uber for the refund," was the response. I don't care anymore. I want a refund. 3/18/26 they called me from the app. I sent an email. Turns out Uber driver picked up the order and then cancelled. I was refunded and offered a free appetizer (even though you can grab a flier and get a free appetizer that way too). Anywho, got my refund.

Actually really surprised at how much I liked this place…read more I expected it to be just a run-of-the-mill casual burger place. Honestly just stopped here because we were tired and hungry. But the service was SPECTACULAR. Once the hostess learned we were first timers, people came over to give us cards for a free appetizer the next time we came in and i think it was the manager who thanked us for coming in and trying the place. I've seen that done at fancy places, but here? It was really great and definitely something I will remember! My friend ordered the Big O' Rings, which were onion rings with a tempura style batter. These were the only things I didnt really care for, but I personally have issues with this type of batter so it is really just me. The onion pieces themselves were thick and sweet and lovely. I ordered the Garlic Knots and chat, this shit was BANGING. 10 out of 10, nothing less! (Scratch-made pizza dough, baked, with garlic butter & Parmesan. Served with marinara) This dough was incredible and made even better with the garlic and sauce, I would eat 10,000 of these and still want more. My entree was the Seasoned Salmon (Chili seasoned and topped with sweet honey lime sauce.) Served with rice but I asked for mashed potato instead (with gravy) and broccoli. If you do this, dont get the gravy. It's white, and I thought it was a sausage gravy at first but its not, it has a sweet taste to it and it doesnt work at all. A brown gravy would have been fire but that is OK, i had my calories with the garlic knots so I didnt need more! The salmon was a good size piece and was cooked great. No issues there. All in all, a cool place. I would definitely come back and not just for the free app!
