Lunch with Vicky O seemed liked the perfect chance to try the latest addition to the Bullrings food lineup. Five Guys is an American chain that opened it's first restaurant in the UK last year. So firstly, there is loads of seating; upstairs, downstairs and outside. Even during a busy lunchtime we were able to get a table quickly and without much hassle. It's nicely laid out, although some signs would be nice as we weren't sure where the queue started. We were served quickly and didn't have to wait to long for food. I loved the open kitchen, you can see all the food being prepared in front of you. The kitchen staff also seemed in good spirits singing along to the music while working. For some reason that made me happy to eat there. The music is also awesome, lots of Nirvana, Foo Fighters and Kiss which I loved. Now, the important part; the food! There is so much choice! Pick a burger or a hot dog and then pick your toppings. Toppings are all free, have as much or as little as you like. Or you can go "all in" and have everything. There are also sandwiches and veggie options. I went with a standard hamburger with pickles. The pickles were crunchy and not soggy. The bun was warm and not too chewy. The meat was really, really good. It didn't taste like the cardboard offerings in some fast food places. You could tell it was actually meat. Well cooked and tasty. The fries are cooked in peanut oil with the skin on and again they were really good. Slightly too salty but crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. For drinks, you can either go for free refill soft drinks or a limited selection of beer. The free refills come from one of those coca-cola vending machines with over a 100 choices. I am now a convert to vanilla cherry coke (my next visit will have raspberry coke). Overall, I was impressed but it is expensive. At £24 for 2 people, it was way more than a standard fast food lunch but the quality is better than a standard fast food lunch. My top tip: if you want to avoid the queue you can order online and pick up your food from the restaurant.

I've been to the London one before it opened in Bullring. I loved their food and was glad they opened in Birmingham. I just have to say last time I had cheese burger I had food poisoning and became more of chicken person. I hardly go for beef. When my friend told me to try Five Guys when was in London, I fell inlove with cheese burger again. I love how they don't have freezers, so you know meat is fresh. Peanut Oil used for fries. And have to say best fries I've had in a long time. The portions are big for a small, and burger itself is big. Two patties and add as many toppings as you want. Their burgers are amazing, wrapped up in foil and by the time you unwrap the bun is moist and soaked all the grilled onions and other toppings you added. Juicy and patty cooked just right. A range of carbonated drinks from the machine that I had never tried before. I tried their hot dog and it's just as good. Though I have to say it was a little salty but I didn't mind it. I always try different toppings each time and find the right burger for me. Interior is minimalistic. White, red and black paint job. I love going in grab a take away end of the day and go home. Fries are still fresh by the time I get home. Now I'm back to being a cheese burger fan.

I'm old enough to remember McDonald's and "fast food" being a fuss when branches opened around Birmingham and the Five Guy's fuss is pretty similar to that. Regular fries means a bag full of fries and a Little burger is actually a regular burger. My friend and I had a regular fries between us which was more than enough. It's not posh and but our food was ready in less than 10 minutes and free drinks refills kept us busy until then. It's a bit of a crush while you wait for food as the toilets, drinks dispenser and condiments bar are all right by the food collection point and it looses a star for that. Great if you want to treat yourself to a naughty burger or hotdog.

Cherry, chocolate, and banana milkshake- surprisingly excellent combo (forgot my aluminium straws though, ahhh)

Here ye, here ye, Hannah M, chain hater of the yelposphere. I really wanted to give them less stars- I've experienced them before, the burgers are overdone, with soggy buns- and I thoroughly stand by my opinion that Five guys is to McDonald's is as Nando's is to KFC (A more expensive version where the less foodie among us believe acceptable to take dates without extending tastes particularly and you still have to go up to the counter, I don't care that they do different flavour sauces, I'm still a proud avoider of Nando's) But, as much as I am a chain hater (the Supercard dude who tried to stop me on High street was not impressed, and I'm fairly sure he thought I was trolling him), I am even more so a famed milkshake lover- and last weekend, my brother slagged off the burgers but told me that their milkshakes are mega, and I have to try one- he laid on thick the fact you can have as many flavours as you want without adding to the cost (I would recommend this, as £5.25 for a chain milkshake is a little steep- especially if you only want banana or strawberry (or the least great of the milkshakes, chocolate) and considering I've had "freakshakes" for less. Also no additional cost to have whipped cream- so if you aren't vegan or dieting, you may as well go with all the bells and whistles. They aren't as big as Ed's milkshakes, and of course they come in plastic (I'd forgotten my aluminium straws after having to move to a smaller handbag- this woman's nightmare- America uses enough straws in a day to lap around the world two and a half times, don't you know), but they taste great, and are good and thick- I'm normally a banana and peanut butter girl, or maybe a malt, but with cherry as an option it changed my mind- I had banana, cherry and chocolate- a pretty awesome creation if you ask me, and with little chunks of cherry in it, so i'm guessing not just made with syrups and powders. Overall I'd conclude, the staff are pleasant enough but do all seem like they don't want to work there. Milkshakes, for a chain- 5* Value for money/calories on milkshakes- 4* (If you have everything) Burgers- 1-2* Attitude to vegetarians/gluten free/other dietary req- 1* So on average- 3* Have a milkshake here- but eat elsewhere.

As Dave M says, this is basically just quality fast food with good service and, priced at £10.50 for the little cheeseburger/Cajun fries combo, plus soft drink, isn't for everyday but it's good for a treat.

Overall the burger was extremely tasty with generous free extras and the onions and jalepenos really hit the spot. The only issue here was that at almost £9 for the burger, I probably could have eaten 2 - maybe 3 due to the hunger I had - the burger was pretty damn small!! I didn't get fries but my beer was also pretty warm which wasn't great. Based on the burger I'd give it a 4, but the cost and size let it down.

This has been one of our locations three times now, and I'm beginning to wonder why it's not been more. Service during the day is casual, sit where you like, here's a menu, back in 5. The food selection is BBQ tastic, and is served very similarly to the big states places, on a little red tray. Nice but small craft beer selection, nice range of cocktails and spirits. There's even PBR if you're looking for the complete USA experience. My friend always goes for the Buffalo Black burger, which I have to say is phenomenal. I've varied and gone for the brisket one, and the pulled pork meal. Sides include "loaded" chilli cheese fries - which deserve a mention on their own. Burnt ends (side of more meat please!) and 'slaw. It's all been good, I've not experienced a bad bit of food there. Price isn't bad, for two of us last time it was £45. That was for the two burgers, burnt ends, mac n cheese, chilli cheese fries, and four beers. I'd like to see something like a Nashville hot chicken plate on the menu with the BBQ stuff, but other than that, this place is wonderful. It sells all of the things I like. Bravo. This place generated a ton of buzz before the doors were opened mid November, so naturally I wanted to try it! After stalking their Facebook, it seemed the best time to grab a table and avoid long waits was right at opening. My dining partner and I turned up shortly after noon on a Saturday and were seated immediately. The first thing i noticed is how intimate the venue is. There really is only a handful of tables. We opted for our own high top table as stools aren't the most comfortable seating. The menu is simple and specific. I'd check it out ahead of time so you know what you're in for. I thought the servers were great. Timing of food, not as great. They were rammed but we were the first people sat for the afternoon so I'd expect less of a wait than 25 minutes for starters. We shared some wings and beef chili cheese fries. Now, I am from Buffalo, NY. The chicken wing capitol of the world. We invented and perfected chicken wings. Its hard to compete with our wings in this country. Back to the review, here the wings were left still attached which I kinda liked. Usually you find the drums and flats separated so this was actually a nice change up. I do think they needed more sauce. Ours were nice and crispy but dry. Overall they were a nice choice for a starter. Ooh and the cheese fries are lovely and served in a little baking tin. As for my main, I had a buttermilk chicken sandwich which was juicy and crispy goodness. The roll was a bit too hard for my liking. I left most of it on my plate. But the chicken was amazing. Random fact about me: I love pickles or gherkins as you Brits call them. It's always a nice surprise to see a place over here serving pickles. I asked for some on my sandwich and only got one tiny piece. Step up your pickle game Buffalo & Rye! I almost forgot to mention the cocktails!! Such wild and crazy concoctions here. I tried a grape fizz and red kool aid inspired drink. Grape fizz blew me away. Kool aid was a bit uninspiring. Not as sweet or flavorful as I imagined. There's also milkshakes that looked wonderful. Sadly I was too full for one. I really liked this place. Although I can't see myself visiting it as often as the other BnTs, it's still worth a pop in. Plan accordingly. It's busy!

You can pick up a Donner Kebab alongside salad and of course chips, all for under a fiver, in fact it is priced at a surprisingly good three pounds ninety. I say surprisingly good because the quality of food here would lead you to believe that it was pricey, clearly this is not the case.
