I'm not big on burger chains, so Five Guys isn't exactly my go-to when I'm in the mood for a cow patty. Just so happens that this Tuesday night almost everything in the area was closed, and I was trolling the area for a shake and fries. I've never been to this Govans location, and I was pleasantly surprised by the greeting at the door. Great service, short wait, clean facilities and a good atmosphere made this an especially nice experience. Oh yeah, the shake was thick and creamy- everything I expected. I placed an order through the app and scheduled it for a later time. My personal schedule changed so I got there earlier than expected. I went to the app and clicked the "ON MY WAY" button, and when I got there I clicked the "IM HERE" button. Assuming this notifies the establishment, bc what else would it be for? I checked in with the cashier, he didn't really read my app confirmation but I just sat down and waited. After 40 minutes or so I ask the cashier the eta on my order and expressed that it's been a long wait. There's a promotion going on so naturally it's going to be busy-got it. However, this one gentleman comes up im assuming he was the manager and starts asking my name. His approach was dismissive and rude. He kept naming other names and asking if they were mine...after I told him multiple times what my name was. Then he proceeded to tell me I placed an order under another name. I showed him my app with my name and the order. Then he says oh your order is scheduled for a different time so that's why it's not ready or showing up in the system. I agreed that I did order it for a later time but I also notified them through the app of the change by clicking the prompts...IM ON MY WAY, IM HERE. The guy responds rudely with oh im just letting you know what you put...after I just explained the app to him. He says I'll get your order started and walks off. Of course he didn't acknowledge that I clicked the prompts in the app, or even offer any explanation on what may have happened. The worse part of this was a few minutes prior I watched a grown man, a white man throw a tantrum at the register due to the excessive wait. He stormed off twice and both time times the workers yelled for him to come back asking to fix it with a refund or a free milkshake while they start his order. Not only did they explain but they apologized for the situation AND rectified it by giving him a free milkshake. I didn't get the same treatment and it was disappointing. Though the employees filling the orders were super nice and working as fast as they could, the manager's attitude overshadowed it which prompted this review. I wouldn't have left a review regarding the establishment being busy because that's normal-places will be busy. What's not normal is a manager escalating the situation by being dismissive and rude. I don't think five guys should have promotions if they do not prepare or provide additional support to each location to fill the orders. The uptick in orders seems to impact the service. read more

Hamburgers were great. Lots of ground beef. Fries are mandatory as I was told and I'm happy I listened. Got a small fry which was a medium dumped in a small cup with the rest at the bottom of the bag. More expensive Than fast food burgers cause the quality is better. I especially loved the sautéed onions on my burger. read more

I really can't explain the magic that is this place. My first five guys experience was last week and holy moly my mind has been blown. I don't know if it's all five guys or just this one but this place is something special. The head lady I think her name is Aviona or maybe Taylor I'm not sure is basically something straight out of heaven. Greets you when you walk in the door even if it's busy, helps you select the best meal and is just friendly and pleasant. Then pretty much runs the kitchen like a nice version of Carmy bearzatto. The food takes a bit to prepare but certainly not unjustifiable or too long and it's worth every second. Amazing burger great service. Thank you for putting care and quality into an industry where they often sacrifice both just to make a buck! Loved it and have been back twice since. I'm hooked. read more

I was so happy when we finally got a Five Guys in the area. I absolutely love their food. But, suprising, this visit wasn't for a burger. I really was in a mood for a shake. I've never tried their shakes but I was in the area so I thought it would be cool to try a shake from here. Service was friendly and quick and the restaurant looked clean. My shake didn't take too long to make. For $4.99, I was expecting a bigger shake. I had an Oreo shake. It was good but I think it could have been mixed better because the oreo pieces were clumped at the bottom, which made it hard to sip through the straw. The flavor of the ice cream itself was good and rich. I will be back for my burger fix but I don't think they have won me over with their shakes. read more

Pretty clean place. The staff was very attentive. Order was prepared quickly. Social distancing was happening. All staff had on gloves. I just got a carry out order for dinner. It was delicious. Wanted a fairly quick option for something to eat. The burgers, though a little over priced, are typically pretty good. An order of 2 burgers and a medium fry came up to roughly $25. There is something about their fries that are not my favorite (maybe because they always seem a little over cooked). Not my vibe. Service was pretty quick and typical of any other 5 Guys I've eaten from. We stopped in around 8:30p, there were not any other customers there, so that allowed for quicker service. Not sure if that is typical of this location or not. The cashier was nice. She had a little sense of humor (which is always a plus). Stopped in here late on a Friday on our way back from the mall, and was very pleasantly surprised! Like most other Five Guys locations, the food here was delicious. Juicy burgers, toppings galore, and the fries are what dreams are made of. However, what made this location stand out to me was the people! We were greeted warmly by the cashier, and our order was taken with special care. The whole interaction felt so genuine. The wait wasn't too long either, especially for the fresh food that you're getting. I could tell the staff all got along well with each other, since they joked and laughed together, all while delivering speedy food and service. Every customer was tended to in a timely manner and seemed to leave content. We should all support a location with happy employees --the food tastes better! I look forward to my next visit back to this location, which will be very very soon!! read more
