This is my go-to spa for any and all services! I've been a member for about 2 years now and I can't…read moreimagine ever stopping or switching to a different spa. All the facilities are always incredibly clean, from the lobby, to service rooms, to bathrooms. I have never met a staff member who did not go above and beyond to make my experience a great one. I regularly see Tina for facials and Hector for massages and they are AMAZING! Their techniques fit for what I like in facials and massages. When I walk out of a massage with Hector I feel lighter, less stressed, and physically ready to take on anything! I have never felt pressured or "upsold" by either of them. Tina will tell me about new services (like dermalinfusion which I highly recommend) or products she thinks will work for my skin but never pressures me to upgrade or buy things I don't want or need. Every time she has recommended a new product for me and I've purchased it, it is SPOT ON and helps my skin so much! I have been going to this spa throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and they take every precaution in protecting their guests and staff. I feel very comfortable going here with everything going on in the world. Heck, I NEED to go here with everything going on in the world! I can relax and forget the stress of 2020 when I visit the Hand & Stone of Carle Place.

I went to Hand & Stone in Carle Place today to use a gift card I purchased for about $70, which…read morecovered one massage or facial (normally $140). I opted for the facial, and during the service the aesthetician asked if I wanted an add-on. I agreed to a $20 mask. She also mentioned she would "leave some Hydro jelly face masks for you upfront" to help with hydration it was made to sound like a little bonus because I had the gift card. Based on what she said, I understood that I'd only be paying for the $20 add-on plus a tip. However, when I went to check out, I was charged for the masks, bringing my total to about $70 -- essentially paying the full $140 value of the facial on top of the original cost of my gift card. I felt blindsided. If the masks were going to cost extra, that should have been clearly stated beforehand. It's not about the money so much as the principle the whole interaction felt disingenuous. I was actually planning on booking my next appointment before I left because I initially liked the aesthetician, but after this experience, I won't be returning. Transparency matters, and this just left a bad taste in my mouth.

After purchasing a $39 Groupon, I went to Manual on Myo for a Signature Massage. After filling out…read morea short form, I was led to a "room" where my massage would take place. I use the word room in quotations because it was created with curtain dividers. In addition, there was a long mirror against the wall, almost like one you would see in a dance studio. This also, made me a little uneasy. Now, because the rooms are separated only by curtains, you can hear discussions at the front desk and in other massage rooms which can be a little disruptive. Aside from this, the massage itself was fantastic! My massage therapist used Swedish massage techniques and included hot stones and a hot pack. The massage was so good, I purchased a package of 10 massages. I do recommend this place if you can turn a blind eye to the other stuff...

I was able to purchase an Amazon Local for a one-hour massage from this provider. When I called to…read moreschedule, I was told that I would have to pay an additional "$8 transaction fee." I asked what transaction they were talking about, and how it added to $8; the person on the phone was unable to answer. She just said "Our boss told us to say that." I stated that I was reading the entire Amazon Local ad; there was NO MENTION of such a fee. The person on the phone insisted that I would have to pay it. I canceled the massage and made a formal complaint to Amazon Local, where a customer service agent agreed that she had never heard of such a thing and that they would be launching an investigation. I guess they've made a few extra bucks this way from people who don't know any better, but one has to wonder; is it worth the negative review or the investigation?
