I first signed up with 5 eggs when I was getting a full knee replacement in January 2020. I had decided to take one month of my recovery and do the Whole30 diet. After searching nationwide, it worked out that Five Eggs was local, organic, and had a full 3-meals a day plan for Whole30. Easy! During those 30 days I had no problem sticking to the Whole30 plan using Five Eggs. The food was incredible, included many various ethnic dishes, it was filling, healthy, and varied every day of the month. My favorite breakfast was Sweet Potato toast with Cashew Butter (OMG - so good), and I can't begin to list the best main courses - The fried "rice" (cauliflower) is great, the zuchinni spaghetti boats are fantastic. There were 30 different meals! Really, everything is seasoned so well, and I felt like I was getting resturaunt food at home. Better yet, I lost 40 lbs over the month I subscribed. This meal plan clearly worked for me and my body type, right? I had a lot of weight to lose. But in one month, eating only Five Eggs Whole30 food 40 lbs!?! Physical Therapy was the only exercise I did. That's remarkable. I'd never felt better in my life! But then, I thought, I should go back to doing it on "my own." I can "save money." Ha! I downgraded to the Whole30 -7 meals a week plan. I have not saved money. I've ordered out more times than I can count - door-dash or uber-eats, and those expenses add up. Plus, it's harder to maintain the weight loss. With Five Eggs, whether I choose to order Whole30 or the regular meals (which my son loves), they are all delicious and healthful. I can choose a subscription, or I can order a la cart. If I want three orders of soup and I don't want pork for the week, I can do that! The flexibility is fantastic. Not only that, it's incredibly easy to communicate with Five Eggs. They are small (so far), and I actually text Sarah with changes or requests. She responds within an hour, and makes it happen. 99% of the meals come in a microwavable container, and are covered in a plastic film that you remove before microwaving. Instructions and ALL ingredients are listed on the package. I usually keep 1/2 of the food in the fridge and freeze the rest - for the latter part of the week. My only mistake has been not removing the sauce cups before microwaving. Whoops. they melt. And that is a complete bummer, because the sauces that accompany the meals are some of the best I've ever tasted. Another excellent part of this is the door to door delivery. Literally to my door! The food (prior to COVID-19) came in reusable freezer bags with ice packs which I put back out the following week to be re-used. With COVID-19, Five Eggs is using super strong plastic bags to protect the food. They have responded to COVID by going above and beyond to keep their kitchen, the food, their workers, and their clients, safe. I get an e-mail on Sunday with a Monday delivery time, and then a text when the driver is five minutes out. The driver also texts me to make sure I am home, and she waits for me to answer, since I live in an area where other people can see my food - She then texts after dropping to make sure I got the food, and waits for my response. What other company has people like that? Here's the bottom line. I now appreciate and actually PREFER TO EAT food that is HEALTHY for me. Five Eggs has changed my mindset about eating. I have been wanting that, and this company did that. Was it pricey? Yes, I suppose. But it's a lot less pricey than my medical bills would be if I were to get gastric bypass surgery or have all of the complications that go along obesity and/or an unhealthy, sugar-filled, process-food filled diet. It's never too late to change your habits. If you already have healthy eating habits, Five Eggs is the company you should try, especially if you are busy and want less time with food preparation. If you want to become healthier, Five Eggs is the company you should try. Whether you use their "regular menu" which is still locally produced and organic, or whether you try the whole30, you will not be sorry. On a final note, regarding their pastries and desserts, if you are tasked with bringing dessert to a party, BRING THE SALTED CARAMEL CHOCOLATE CHIP BARS. Sarah and the whole crew at Five Eggs is great. I've used them off and on for the last 6 months and am just finishing up their 28 day Whole 30 Re-set which was great. They have always been incredibly responsive and willing to make updates/adjustments when needed. Also, the help during the COVID-19 outbreak not only to myself (I have an autoimmune condition) and giving meals to those on the front lines during the crisis speaks volumes about them as a company and as people. Prepared healthy food that just needs to be warmed up has been around forever. 5 eggs is different. They source their food locally. If you have a question you can call the owner directly. I once heard someone say that if you do something nice for me, I am appreciative. If you do something nice for one of my friends or loved ones, I will remember that forever. One of my friends caught COVID. Both himself and his wife. They are somewhat elderly and at a higher risk. I wanted to do something for them, so I contacted Sara. She rushed the order out and my friends were beyond appreciative. They didn't have to cook over Thanksgiving, and the food, because it is healthy tasted great the next day as well. Sarah and her team did all the work and I got all the credit. I like that . :) If you don't hire Sarah and her team for fresh, really good prepared food, you should consider stabbing yourself in the cheek with a fork. Thank you Sarah and 5 eggs. They provide door to door delivery which is a great service! While they once delivered a frittatta with broken eggshells in it and a few times a subscription where they placed a few small slices of grilled chicken over a heap of lettuce and doubled the order even after i asked them not to send me a salad as i always keep a salad of my own making in the frig i like some of their meals typically but with any food you're not going to love it every time. But 2 weeks ago i had problems getting their website to provide evidence that my selection was confirmed as received so i tried re-entering and ordering again. Sarah called me to doublecheck and i was very appreciative of her care and she said she would cancel the 2nd order but instead i not only received the 2nd order as a duplicate of the first i was charged for 3 orders. I left a msg and no one returned my call. After a week or 2 of waiting i called again and sarah never apologized for the over charge, kept diverting the topic to see when it was we spoke (as if that would solve the problem -alas i dont keep a record of my calls) and in turn i started to get frustrated. She warned me we would have to speak thru email when i asked for a refund and in her frustration hung up on me. That's it! Terrible grasp of how to apply customer service skills. I dont recommend them because of not listening, not returning my call, not reassuring me she would refund my triple expense and accusing me of yelling when i was getting anxious (which maybe annoying but it is not yelling) because she wasn't acknowledging me and then hanging up after she provoked the anxiety in the first place. If you want to keep your customers you need to remove her from customer care because she did not know how to verbally demonstrate care today. And needless to say she hasnt emailed me which was her solution. So i feel screwed by an unapologetic and indifferent person who is likely overworked but i dont need to keep using their service and i hope ive helped someone else make a better decision. read more

There are many great things about five eggs .. their food is good and tastes fresh and their delivery is fairly reliable. However I gave them two stars because I had an extremely disappointing experience with their customer service . Be advised to read ALL the fine print of your contract with them because they will hold you to your subscription REGARDLESS of the circumstance. Our food was stolen from our cooler last week and throughout the week I spent time trying to figure out an alternative for the coming week . Unfortunately we were unable to come to a resolution by their " deadline ". When I emailed the owner and asked her to suspend my subscription temporarily for the week as I was concerned that the thief would return on Monday again and steal our food , she responded that she could not do that and that I was required to pay for the week as per the " subscription ". It felt a little like a slap in the face after being a loyal customer for five months . Even some small gesture would have eased the sting of a week of no meals and a lost $100 , but instead I'm being charged for meals I never ordered and may never actually get to me . A little kindness from the company would have gone a long way and ensured my loyalty . read more

I signed up for Five Eggs meal prep and delivery because I follow the "Whole30 lifestyle" and as a small business owner, have a hard time finding the time to cook meals I actually want to eat. I searched long and hard for a service that 1. Is ACTUALLY Whole30 and 2. Doesn't look or taste like dog food. Let me tell you, I have been IMPRESSED with Five Eggs since day 1 (I'm far from an easy person to impress- trust me, I hate this about me more than anyone else does). To start, the communication from Sarah is on POINT. So helpful in answering all the questions and explaining the process. Which leads me to talk about the process- it's freaking flawless. Everything runs so smoothly. Again, as a business owner, I know how hard this is to achieve and Five Eggs knocks it out of the park. Finally, and most importantly (what you really want to know when reading a review about food, anyway) is that the food is SO GOOD! I'm also a bit of a food snob because I am a pretty dang good cook when I have the time and well, Sarah is way better than me, ha! The food is so tasty, nothing bland, nothing gross, nothing overcooked, even when microwaved. How does someone perfectly poach eggs or cook salmon to not be gross when microwaved?? No clue. Five Eggs is a delicious, healthy, simple, economic, and convenient way for my family to eat weeknight dinner. I travel a lot for work and Five Eggs gives me so much comfort that my husband and son will eat well and a nice variety while I'm away. The food from Five Eggs is great quality and super delicious!!!! The price is a few dollars less then the food delivery services where you cook the ingredients they send you, and it is already made!!! I tried a couple of similar places and didn't like the food at all. It was to highly seasoned or tasted like glop. It helps that Five Eggs packs their meals so that if there are different components that need to be kept separate until eating, they are packaged separatly. I also love the variety they offer.
