People in the reviews raved about the freshly made frittatas, sausages, and other items, so we were excited for a homemade breakfast. We stayed for 3 nights in the pricier rooms (El Capitan and Clouds Rest). The first morning he made us a vegetarian frittata and it was fantastic. The second morning he came to our room, complained that accommodating our dietary restriction took too much time because he had to make meals for all the other guests and asked if he could bring us porridge. Like what?! Every other patron gets a freshly made breakfast and we get porridge? We asked if he could at least make pancakes. He whined, complained, and huffed about, and begrudgingly complied. We thought that was a very easy/understanding compromise (they definitely didn't taste as good as the vegetarian frittata, so it was a compromise for us). We felt very awkward after his tantrum and tried our best to avoid him. It really soured our stay, which had started off delightfully. He also ran our credit card twice, said it didn't go through (it did) and we had to go through the credit card company to cancel the extra charges, so watch out for that. We've come to Yosemite about 2 times since and while we would love to stay at the Blackberry Inn, we remember the unpleasant owner and choose not to go back. If you can't handle a modest amount of customer service (it's a bed AND breakfast), maybe don't go into the hospitality industry? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We just spent a perfect 2 days at the Yosemite Rose Bed and Breakfast…read more. We rented the caretakers cabin, and it was so cozy and comfortable. The place is super dog friendly, they even have a ranch dog on site to welcome your puppy. The main house is the bed and breakfast, and is decorated expertly to invite all who enter a charming and warm welcome. And while the trip into Yosemite National Park, with our reservation and $20 was a complete and total disaster, the time we spent in Groveland more than made up for it. The caretakers cabin does not offer the breakfast part of bed and breakfast, but we were still treated to home made cheese cake prepared by our hosts and it was just ever so tasty. While we were enjoying a lovely cross breeze threw the cottage, a guest puppy found us and invited himself in for a bit of a quick sniff before his mom found him with his new friend Bernie(that's our dog). Our stay was just wonderful. Just a thought, the upstairs bedroom with its queen and 2 twin beds (all done in very comfortable and warm décor) does have steep steps on the outside of the house, not a problem for us, but could be an issue for anyone who is mobility challenged. We were also entertain by the abundance of non-human entertainers, there were horses, a pig, and some turkeys tending to there newly hatched babies. The morning song birds announcing the day were music to my ears, and the abundance of bees and butterflies gave me hope for our planet that all is not lost. after the past year and the pandemic, this little gem did the trick at changing my perspective back to a place of hope and goodwill. I highly recommend this to all you weary travelers.

Yosemite Rose Bed and Breakfast was perfect. The hospitality started even before we hit the road when I received a phone call from them. They asked when we might be arriving, and when I said between 9 and 10 PM depending on traffic, they said no problem and explained how we'd find instructions directing us to our room when we arrived. Further, they said they saw the note I made when I booked that we'd be leaving early in the morning, so they would pack our breakfast in a bag with our name on it and leave it in the refrigerator. Everything was exactly as they said it would be. We arrived at 9:30 and followed the instructions to our room without having to disturb anyone. The room was very comfortable with its own bathroom, outlets for charging, and good wi-fi. In the morning we had no trouble finding the bag with ample breakfast and lunch items and left without disturbing anyone. That evening the power went out in Groveland, but the staff had a backup power source kick in within the hour, and wi-fi never even went down. The shower felt so good after a long day of hiking. The next morning was similar to the first morning except we left our key in the room signifying our checkout (no need to wait in a hotel lobby line to close anything out). We loved our stay but lamented that we hadn't even begun to scratch the surface of all of the amenities, including a great breakfast if you stick around in the morning, coffee and tea and brandy available anytime, chess, pool, and piano options, great books and reading nooks, and a moving tribute to family devoted to each other and our wonderful country. I can't thank the proprietors enough for a weekend that my son and I will never forget. Someday I hope to return.

We arrived to Sonora by way of Ebbetts Pass, winding down through crystal alpine lakes, faerytale meadows and boulders and forests that speak in quiet and ancient tongues. The pass opened upon amber grasses contrasted against lovely sagey-colored trees and verdant yet rugged vineyards. It turns out the Victorian-inspired Barretta Gardens is overseen with a care as golden as the hue of sepia-colored days gone past and motherlodes once legendary for their bounty. Yet breakfasts are as simple, elegant and memorable as any contemporary B&B can boast. The proprietors Astrid and Daniel run an inn as refreshing as the Moroccan mint tea set out every afternoon to greet us from a hot day exploring Gold Country. We found Barretta Gardens flexible and welcoming to our two boys as well. Our only suggestion is that if they choose to turn off each room's A/C while guests are away for the day that they would turn it back on in anticipation for their return in the evening. Baretta Gardens B&B is a rare treasure I hope more visitors to the area will mine for years more to come.

When we arrived, the front desk staff were so nice and friendly and answered all our questions with ease. It really was a wonderful weekend - everyone is so nice and made our stay even better. The Tavern has lots of delicious choices for breakfast, with a wait staff that made sure our coffee cups were always full. One staffer saw us trying to figure out where the ceremony was happening, and they literally stopped what they were doing and walked us to the beautiful ceremony setting; well above and beyond his regular duties. If you have the opportunity to visit Yosemite, a 100% recommend staying at the Evergreen Lodge- we will definitely be coming back.

We stayed on-site for the Christmas holiday and ate all our meals at the Lodge restaurant and tavern. 1) Lodge Accommodations -We always stay in the Deluxe Cabin - King. It's wonderful, cozy, spacious, and always clean. -The staff has always been exceptional, welcoming, and helpful, especially or despite working over holidays. -The nightly s'mores don't hurt -This holiday trip, Dez and Deneja, did a tremendous job with activities and were overall delightful. -Plenty to do (between hikes, games, and relaxing) to unwind with time away from electronics. 2) Restaurant and Tavern I'll start with the good: -The salads are really good and portion is large. -They have several options to accommodate different dietary restrictions. -Elk meatloaf is consistent and delicious -Sea Bass on Christmas was delightful (my husband's entree dish) -Servers & bar tenders are wonderful The bad: [Christmas Eve] Avoid the trout & gnocchi; trout was extremely dry and I'm not sure you could call whatever we received gnocchi. The "gnocchi" was too mushy, not much shape, and had a very off putting taste & fragrance. The worst: [Christmas] It was a prefixed menu, with delicious sounding options. One of the options was a Scotch Egg, seemed like an appropriate choice given the holiday. My husband chose the salad. I wish I had chosen the soup. When the scotch egg arrived, it looked good. Upon cutting, the pork/sausage was raw. The server, Cara (who was amazing the whole meal), apologized and took the dish back. The kitchen made a second attempt and the restaurant or kitchen manager stated that she watched them cook this one longer to ensure it was fully cooked. Well, it was more cooked than the last attempt. However, there were still clearly raw sections closer to the egg. Now, I can understand this isn't a regular menu dish, things happen, usually not a big deal. Yet, the restaurant or kitchen manager (didn't catch her name), decided to gaslight me instead. She said the pink bits are expected given that they use paprika (If that was the case, the rest of the meat wouldn't change colors when cooked nor would it be a different texture). She stated they only had the salad or I'd have to accept this, they were out of other options. Fair. Obviously, I didn't want food poisoning and didn't accept it. Cara did provide a 10% discount and, again, was extremely lovely the whole time. The tone and gaslighting from the restaurant or kitchen manager was completely unacceptable and off putting. We've stayed at Evergreen Lodge multiple times, included over the holidays; dining at the Restaurant and Lodge the majority of meals, with acceptable or great experiences. We'll continue to stay at Evergreen Lodge, but either dine at Rush Creek or select safer/regular menu items when dining here again.

Smoked Duck Leg - 5/5 Smoky and crispy on the outside but not overcooked, the rich duck leg pairs perfectly with the creamy sweet potato puree. A must. Cioppino - 5/5 A spicy tomato-based seafood soup, packed full of halibut, scallops, shrimp and mussels. Entree-size. If you're in the mood for soup, this is where its' at. Bison Chili - 4/5 Good flavor, and very heavy on the meat. This one will fill you up. Charcuterie - 3/5 Some of this is quite good, but I wasn't too wild about the pickles or pepperoni. There are better options. California Cheese Platter - 5/5 The two gentlemen in my party who split this gave it rave reviews. Tiramisu - 2/5 Perhaps the only dish we ordered that resulted in any level of disappointment, I'm given to understand there wasn't much coffee flavor to be had with this one.

The team clearly loves what they do, and it shows in every interaction across the resort. This was our family's first visit to Yosemite, and the resort felt like a true haven for both our son and us. There were so many thoughtful touches--from daily activities to easy access to beautiful trails. Our son especially loved the programming, from bingo to making clay animal handprints, and it was amazing to see how much he learned and enjoyed himself. The spa experience was a highlight. Alyssa provided the best facial I've ever had--her warmth, expertise, and attention to detail were truly exceptional. The spa facilities themselves were also fantastic and added to the overall sense of relaxation. The food was excellent, and we loved starting our mornings with coffee and fresh bakery items from the gift shop (which also had great finds for friends and family). Another standout was Mary Jane from the room service team--her service was best-in-class, always thoughtful, with extra touches like additional towels and personalized notes that made a real difference. We also appreciated the welcome gift for our son--it was such a meaningful and memorable touch. Rush Creek Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. We can't wait to return.

This place was a gem to find! It has four beautifully furnished rooms with super comfy beds. The linens and bedding are top quality. Everything was clean and fresh. We had the Yosemite Room in the back. It is large and has its own bathroom and is really quiet. The front room also has its own bathroom, plus a balcony that faces the Hotel Jeffrey and "downtown" Coulterville (about 10 buildings). The other two rooms share a central bathroom. The kitchen and dining area are fully stocked with everything you need to make breakfast. You can put your own food and drinks in the fridge. Its basically like a house upstairs. Again, everything is in nice condition, clean and ready for you. Fernando pays attention to every detail. He lives downstairs. He owns the antique store downstairs and the saloon across the street. So he is always available. Coulterville is a cool little spot at the southern end of the wine country/gold rush country of Highway 49. We have been back to see Fernando and stayed two nights in March. We really loved it. Thanks Fernando!!
