Love the selection of international candies, sodas and snacks but would love more if they also had more savory items. I skip the Funko pop and cards portion of the store but I do enjoy the board game collection and the photoshoot props! This time the sale section was abundant and had savory items like instant cup noodles and chips! Between the BF and me, we cleared that section out, hahaha! We finally signed up for their rewards but because Medina is so dang far from both of us, their expiration on the points you earn is only 1.5 months or something, which is quite ridiculous! Make the points never expire and encourage people to come in every once in a while to redeem! I did hear about an Independence location opening so I'll probably check that out!

For the most part everything is well organized with the exception of some of the random areas. They just have so much it takes awhile to look through. I think they'd do better putting less out so it doesn't become overwhelming for the customer. Lots of fun candy options though. They have a huge Asian area of candy and snacks. The store was clean and the few workers I saw were nice. Definitely with a visit if you are in the area.

I don't have a problem with the nursery not guaranteeing their trees.. The problem I have is I questioned the staff on the health of the now dead tree I bought . In addition, I followed up many times by email and phone on advice of the tree. The staff never returned my email or phone calls. I'd probably buy a tree from this place again, but I'd trust my instinct better than the trees nursery staff's advice. The staff is no help and they won't respond to any questions after you have tree planted. Horrible customer service

Retired from the Marine Corps some years back, and I finally decided to purchase the evening dress uniform. Before ordering the uniform, I went in and asked when a good time is to have the alterations done, this was around June or July 2024. I asked because they are a small business (only one seamstress/one sewing machine) supporting the military community (active, reserve, national guard, and retirees), I was told the best time was August/September timeframe. Mid to last August I took the uniform in for alterations, to be fair I had to get a larger size trousers which took a few weeks. I was told the uniform would be ready October 19, 2024, I received a voicemail on October 17, 20204 stating they were busy, and it would be ready the following Saturday October 26, 2024. On Friday October 28, 2024, I received a voicemail stating that my uniform was there and asked for me to call. When I called back later that day, what do you know, my uniform wasn't ready, AGAIN!! When I asked if any work was started, I was told no. So, for two (2) or three (3) months they sat on it. To be fair, they did offer to complete the alterations overnight. Not sure how everyone else feels but I am not comfortable with a rush job on my military uniform. I had my heart set on wearing it at the Marine Corps Ball this year. Before you use them for alterations, look around, they have uniforms awaiting alterations that are balled up, tossed into piles behind the counter and only one sewing machine. This amount of disorganization explains their deficiencies. It's unfortunate that they have carved out their little niche of the market and are able to treat Veterans this way. The shop is medium sized, nowhere near some of the big stores, but what you will find is really high quality items at a great price. The Discovery Shop has a nice if not huge selection of clothes, they have just recently expanded the men's area in the back to allow for more variety. Most of the items are high end and usually very current. Where the Discovery Shop really shines is the selection of art, decor and interesting items. It seems that they get more upscale donations then most thrift stores, plus they are raising money for a great cause. Other items include books, media, all kinds of kitchenware, plates, glasses and jewelry. Prices are reasonable, what makes it even better is that they have a 50% discount color every week and the last weekend of each month the entire store is 50% off. Over the years I have found some really nice sports coats and a number of carved wood items at the Discovery Shop. Well worth a stop to check out if you are looking for some great items at good prices, plus it is great to support the American Cancer Society. I also want to shout out the volunteers at the Discovery Shop, they are always friendly and helpful and the store is well set up, organized and attractive.
