I've been to the Toms River, Hamilton, Lawrenceville, and Old Bridge stores. Toms River is my favorite of the 3 and Old Bridge my least favorite. Sometimes I find great deals and sometimes I don't. You do have to know your prices though because there have been items I passed on things due to knowing I could do better elsewhere. They used to have Pantene shampoo often at lowest price anywhere but I haven't seen that in a while. I got a better deal on a brand new Hamilton Beach K-Cup coffee maker there a couple of years back which was cheaper than Amazon and Walmart at the time. Don't go with expectations and just look thru the whole store. I always leave with several items even if they weren't a thought in my mind prior to walking in.

If you are tired of a "Big Box Store" salesperson, whose only knowledge of the appliance comes from reading the description card set above it - run to Ocean County Appliances 4 Less. I am never very comfortable there. There is a manager there named lisa ....she is about 60 with blue eyes sort of blonde hair. I called her many times and left my phone number with my name and my receipt number, which is something that their contact line requires. I felt that as a consumer this was quite disrespectful. So I went on yel p because I feel that a person should be treated correctly even if they complain and say they saw a mouse. I appreciate her taking the time to contact me and all that she's doing to rectify the situation. I would like to speak with someone...ANYONE from Big Lots in Toms River about what I found in my couch cushions but no one will return my calls or emails. We purchased some furniture back in September and since we got it there was this weird cracking sound in one of the BACK cushions on the loveseat. We jokingly referred to it as the "empty water bottle" seat whenever anyone sat there and leaned back against it. It sounded like an empty water bottle but I figured it was just part of the construction. This morning I had enough with the sound and found a zipper underneath that back cushion. I didn't realize there were zippers on those because they aren't removable so why the need for a zipper? Anyway, I unzipped and reached my hand in there and immediately felt a stinging pain. I pulled my hand out and I was bleeding. I got some gardening gloves and pulled out what was in there and it was a half of a crumpled monster energy drink can. Sharp edges and all. It seems to me that it's someone's idea of a joke and I don't find it funny at all. I've now cut myself on someone's nasty can AND I do t know what else is in my loveseat. Are you kidding me?? I could have done some real damage and I'm waiting for an explanation from Big Lots as to how the hell this crap can happen. That is so dangerous. I'm considering calling an There is no place for me to send a private message. I've sent emails and called the store for a manager to call me but no one is responding. If you would like to email me at deanastowman@yahoo.com that would be fine. If I don't hear from someone by tomorrow morning I'm going to pass it on to an attorney. I'm so mad I could strangle someone. Forget about the cut on my hand....how about not knowing what else is in the loveseat and or the couch because someone thought it was funny? It's not funny. Not to someone with lung cancer and no immune system. I can't even get a tetanus shot without risking my health in the ER. Totally unac

All this would have been nice to know up front, before I went shopping. So. The store is HUGE but unlike other wholesale stores, it looks clean, brite, easy to navigate, signs clear and the aisles really flowed well and were organized, very little navigation issues. Produce selection and freshness blew me away. They had the typical apples, oranges, onions etc, but PLUMS? Watermelon?? A lot of variety. Then I moved to the open seasoning aisle and just wow!! Because behind that was nuts, seeds and sweets. All bins were clean and they have an attendant making sure it all stayed clean and no one was sampling AND once you chose what you wanted and bagged it, the attendant weighed and priced it. I appreciated the attention to keeping this section clean and attractive. Prepackaged fruit was definitely a win! The sliced mango I bought was sweet and at about $5. It was a good price because it was sliced thin, ripe and it was about 2 mangos in this packaged. There are a few freezer sections and the meat and poultry section is incredible. I checked out the yogurt section and there were brands I had never heard of, I just bought yogurt yesterday so I had to pass, but I'll be back, but as with a quick look I gave, I didnt see full day yogurt, which I prefer. All in all, it has good prices on cleaning products, the chocolate section is a chocolate lovers dream, the fresh produce is exceptional, I lost Tammy and Emi in the chips & snacks section, lol, but found them back in the pastry section where the baklava was calling my name. If you are in the area, check it out. I think it was the manager, though I'm not sure, that let us know the front aisles with tbe special chocolates and such would be moved soon to another section of the store, due to the Purim Holiday. Super friendly staff all around, I plan to return soon.
