Don't miss the best thrift/vintage shop in Milwaukee!!…read more If you need cool boots, Sole Salvation is the authority. Vintage dresses & coats, oh yeah! Fine quality leather, biker vests, and jean jackets, totally! They even have neat jewelry from local artists, estate sales, & older pieces that are perfect for cosplay or a night on the town. If you want clip on earrings that are affordable & hip, they got those too. For a smallish location with tight hours, I can't believe how much value they have packed into one location. It's just off brady on Humboldt, right next to Art Smart's Dart Mart. Ooh, plus if you catch them at the right time, often their selection will include 50% off sales, which is a godsend to an artist on a budget. The staff is incredibly knowledgable, & they have been really sweet to me on rainy days. They even have had some epic vintage jerseys that got snapped up before I could snag em myself. If you're there, don't forget to check out the cool stuff in back & to look up! The whole place is a throwback to the glory days of Milwaukee vintage. I try to get down there at least once a month.

There was a ton of clothing, and some purses, shoes, and jewelery. All at a steal of a price! They also have a formal wear area and some very nice fur and leather coats in the section further to the back. The best part of our trip to the store was Debbie. She was so very nice and I had just the best time ever chatting it up with her. If you're into great prices and wonderful people, I highly recommend stopping by. :)

You'll find Permanent Baggage at a lot of vendor events, such as Brady Street Festival. I almost…read morethrew my paycheck up in the air when I heard they have a store location on the Eastside. They have been in-store for around a year, and are happily growing. If you can't find the store front, it's because you are probably annoyed with how atrocious the parking situation is. The Eastside gives everyone that feeling. The store environment screams Pinterest and Etsy. You'll find leather totes, baby clothes, tiny aloes, air plants, coasters, headbands, jewelry, candles, lotion, homemade cards, ceramics, chapstick, beard oil, bar soap, men's facial care, and more. This store sells Permanent Baggage, but also inventory from other Wisconsin artists, like Big White Yeti, Ginger & Waldo, Artery Ink, and James Steeno. For the essential oil fans, Doterra is sold here. The store is also part studio for employees to work on their artwork. It looks very convenient. The space is small, but not cluttered. Prices are $$ to $$$. Be sure to sign up for their e-mail newsletter, which includes exclusive discounts and store events. E-mails are sent out sparingly. Purchase and you'll receive a 10% off card for your next visit. Mention Yelp and you'll also receive a 10% off discount for your first purchase. You can also find store inventory and some discounts on their Facebook and Instagram. This place is great for gift giving and treating yourself. You'll feel right at home.

Part of the retail storefront is a work space, which is really cool because you can see products being made. I also love that many items utilize Milwaukee as a focal point of inspiration, such as a leather wrapped flask or mug with a map of the city. Stop by this store. You won't regret it!

This is my favorite boutique in Milwaukee. I have since moved away, but I have very, very fond…read morememories of shopping here, especially when Tracey was around. Tracey truly provided some of the best retail service I have ever received. Talking to her was like talking to a best friend, and she always helped me find exactly what I needed (including things I didn't know I needed yet ;)). All the workers here are very friendly, the clothes are beautiful, and the store smells amazing thanks to the wonderful Votivo red currant candles they use in the store (and sell!).

I adore Lela -…read moreI've shopped there frequently in the last several years and always had a top-notch experience with service and merchandise - used and new. However, my most recent experience was not good and hopefully it was a one-off. I stopped in to browse on a Saturday. I did not recognize any of the women working there (4 ladies), which is unusual because there's usually someone I'm familiar with. Anyhow, I was in the store for probably 15-20 minutes and no one greeted me, no one asked if I needed any help (even though one staff person was right beside me a few times putting clothes back on the rack). At first I was surprised and thought that I should say something to them, like "hey how are you doing" etc. However, they never stopped talking amongst the 4 of them - so much so that if I had said anything I would have felt like I was interrupting them! It was very disappointing and unusual - they didn't even take time to say have a good day or anything when I left. There was a Desigual t-shirt that I wanted to try on and purchase but I decided I wasn't going to give them my business since I had felt unwelcome and ignored. I went home and ordered online. Like I said, hopefully this was a one-off and they were all just having an off day.
