I'm really surprised this place is so popular. I tried a variety of their chocolates from milwaukee…read morepublic market. They were all a similar quality, maybe a half step above something like a gold brick egg or the unbranded chocolates you get on easter or valentines day. Each and every one of their chocolates was made out of an identically flavored, identically consistent hard chocolate coating. The "coconut clusters" were literally just the same exact chocolate used for coatings, with a small amount of shredded coconut mixed in, in a solid glob that you have to gnaw on. I truly believe I could make a better coconut cluster at home in my kitchen right now with no experience. No mind was paid to ratios: the delicate honeycomb candy and whipped vanilla candy had such a thick hard chocolate coating on it that when you bit into it all you could taste was the chocolate and not the filling. The truffles... didn't resemble a truffle in anything but appearance. They were some type of fudge (again, think unbranded valentines day box) covered in the same super duper hard and thick chocolate coating. They were actually hard to eat. The ubiquitous chocolate was overly sweet and had nothing interesting about it. If I'm going to have too-sweet chocolate I prefer something like a hersheys bar. The only items I thought even had an appropriate filling to coating ratio, density, and flavor matchup was the jelly candy and toffee. The toffee was just identical to a heath bar, but I do like heath bars! The only compliment I have for this place is it's relatively cheap and would delight a child who could pick out a variety of things to try. I guess if you're looking for a local alternative to stuff stockings and easter baskets with, this would be a good idea. Due to its placement in the market, the typical chocolatier display, and the individually priced pieces of chocolate, I assumed this would be an artisanal product and was disappointed.

Sea Salt Caramel Corn: Lolli & Pops (L&P) is a chain of candy stores that was founded in 2012. I…read morewish I could expound on that, but their about us/our story section on their website is not very useful. I also can't elaborate much on the shop itself as this tube of popcorn was a Christmas gift. That's okay because it's what I thought of the popcorn that matters, right? Before I share my thoughts, let me clarify what caramel corn actually is. Standard popcorn is mixed with a heated caramelized candy syrup and allowed to cool. Depending on the manufacturer, the caramel corn is sometimes baked in an oven after mixing to increase the crispness. L&P takes there version up a notch by splashing in some sea salt. Although the sea salt is not the strongest, I do have to say that this is still one of the better caramel corns that I've had. It's sweet, crispy, crunchy, and tough to put down. I'm just disappointed I didn't receive one of their more exciting flavors as the website lists: Birthday Cake, Cookie & Cream, Caramel Cold Brew, Peanut Butter Cup, French Toast, and S'mores. So, you can see why I think Sea Salt Caramel was a little boring. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews
