I purchased a refurbished Precor elliptical trainer from Boris at Fitness Warehouse. It was a great buying experience. I was given lots of information at the time of purchase. The delivery process was two-steps, and the time to delivery was several weeks, likely due to the time required to refurbish a unit. My elliptical was very carefully packed and first delivered to my garage on a pallet. A couple days later, technicians came and set the unit up in the room I use as a gym. The unit is in great shape and works perfectly. I am delighted. From beginning to end, my elliptial purchase was handled professionally and attentively. The most difficult things to find during Covid-19...toilet paper, clorox, paper towels, purel and dumbbells. I've found it impossible to find dumbbells anywhere and finally found what I needed online, but that was weeks ago and they still aren't here. After trying to make do with my wimpy weights for a peloton bootcamp class I called Fitness Warehouse to see what they had in stock. I was delighted to hear they had weights of every size. I asked them how to purchase (I've basically forgotten how to shop during these times) and they told me to come on by. I put on my mask and gloves and made my way to Fitness Warehouse, which is open til 6pm during the week. I was greeted a few friendly men who showed me a few different options. I was thrilled they had had exactly what I needed and weren't price gouging the weights like the rest of the industry. They were also nice enough to throw them in my trunk for me. I stopped at weights, but they had tons of cardio equipment, balls, kettleballs, bands and everything else one needs for an in home workout. They weren't wearing masks themselves today so I was glad I had mine on, but kept a good distance and I felt safe shopping there. read more

Untrustworthy. Sold me a lemon and nearly 20 months later never made it right. I purchased a "reconditioned" Precor 835 elliptical trainer from them. It arrived with a malfunctioning elevation motor (never corrected) a bent rear drive shaft (also never corrected) and unstable "arms", the pads we peddle on. Broken Promises, literally dozens of unreturned phone calls and flat out lies. And a machine that, to this day, is taking space and is unusable in my gym. Do your research. Their website lies and falsely posts a BBB rating of AAA+. A quick review of the BBB website reveals they've been delisted as of the fall of 2021. They operate in bad faith. Their service is horrible, they did not honor their warranty and I'm out $4k. Run away from this company. Find another source for your exercise equipment. read more

Buyers BEWARE!!! This company is a SCAM. Richard is a cunning liar, fraud and untrustworthy. We agreed upon price for a fitness machine, scheduled shipping and delivery date. Equipment was never delivered. Contacted Richard twice for refund and he ensured me the refund had been processed. It never was processed according to my credit card company. Filed a fraud complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's Office. Case is pending. DO NOT DO business with this company. Boris was a pleasure to deal with and explained all the steps and time frame from when we ordered thru shipping, delivery and install. Overall we are very pleased. BUYER BEWARE...UNTRUSTWORTHY - Do not purchase "reconditioned" equipment from them. They do not honor their warranty. If you investigate Wisthoff Fitness Warehouse on the internet, you'll see that their BBB accreditation was SUSPENDED in the fall of 2021, yet their website still falsely displays a AAA+ rating! Do not trust them. I experienced repeated broken promises, literally dozens of unreturned calls from 3 different employees (Richard, Rich and Boris) and I still have an inoperable machine, over 18 months later. I purchased a "reconditioned" Precor Elliptical Trainer - 835 model. The unit arrived in June of 2020 with a dead battery, a flawed drive assembly, an error producing Elevation Motor (the ramp wouldn't operate correctly) and dangerously unstable arms (the pads we "walk" on). They initially conceded that the unit "should be replaced." Then they reversed course and "promised" to repair it. After a year of calls, one of the 3 major issues was eventually attended to - replacing the arms. During the replacement their technician actually over-torqued the bolt during the install and the bolt sheared 90 days later. The machine is now entirely inoperable. The other 2 issues were never attended to, even after committing in July of 2021 to ship the parts "next week." In January of 2022 they lied and said "everything shipped last week." When I challenged and asked for the tracking number - mind you this was after several unreturned phone calls - they confessed that "they were wrong and the parts didn't actually ship; they had the wrong parts"(yes, after 7 months of saying they'd ship within a week). They're either the most incompetent and overwhelmed employees or they're entirely deceitful. Either way, they're untrustworthy; but they can be trusted to take your money and charge your credit card. A perfect illustration of a Lose-Lose relationship. None of us benefited from this relationship. Terribly disappointed and cheated out of $4k. They can make this purchase right by refunding my money. read more

I reached Richard, who could have just told me it was time to replace it, but he sent me AJ, who patiently and clearly showed me where the problem was and how he was fixing it. Their attentiveness and knowledge saved me over a thousand dollars through inexpensive and expert repair. Be careful, I warn you not to deal with this company and to do further research into them. I am not sure what is going on here but they appear to be selling items they do not have in stock at the very least, and holding people's money for long periods of time in order to try to find the item or something. It is a strange operation. Unless you can confirm they have your item in stock ready today, do not deal with this company. I ordered a stairmill very early into the Covid situation. After a conversation with the charming owner and several other more local places I opted for Fitness Warehouse for good pricing and their charm. It's arrival was a scenic route for a host of reasons including COVD but the team of people, most especially Mike was dilligent and refused to give up despite a plethora of shipping snafus. pickups etc. I found Mike beyond helpful and would have been livid if he hadn't been able to problem solve to the extent that he did. My husband and I were looking to create a fitness center in our home. We had researched numerous: treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, steppers...etc. We went to numerous fitness distribution centers to help us. During our search we realized this was as terrible as looking for a: car, house, or appliance...etc But when we stumbled upon Wisthoff Fitness we had felt the most comfortable with their Sales Staff and their knowledge, pricing, easy to work with, informative information, service and technical advice...etc. and this place did not feel like being at a car dealership store. Normally we like to Shop at Abt or Sears for everything but in this case Wisthoff really was the most impressive; they also had free delivery and setup plus took away some older pieces that were junk. They even helped us move a couch! We really had a great experience and would recommend this company to anybody! Lastly we had a problem with one of the machines within the first week and this company made and effort to come out and fix the machine! Great service...great everything! Thanks! They set up a gym in our basement that does not take up a ton of room. It is very efficient and top notch quality (I also work out at East Bank Club, so when I say "top notch," I mean it). We have had it for four years and use it several times a week. I have probably logged in over 4000 miles on the treadmill. At one point, I needed to replace the board on it and they sent someone out and got it done. The equipment has held up beautifully! read more

I was looking for a "Certified Life Fitness Technician" and google brought me to this site. I placed my first call at the end of June and did not have my elliptical fixed until the middle of August. The communication was sub-par. I was told on numerous occasions by the owner, Richard, that he would call me with updates and I would consistently have to call him. The first tech misdiagnosed the problem and I ended up waiting 6 weeks for the wrong part. The second tech, AJ, was the only bright spot in the entire process. He correctly diagnosed the problem and was professional, helpful and efficient. If I could deal directly with AJ in the future I would, but otherwise I would go directly to Life Fitness and save myself a huge hassle, a lot of time and energy and a lot of frustration! read more
