Came with a friend a few times. Overall nice gym, very basic equipment you'd find at a gym, but it's hit or miss with the staff. Sometimes when i'd workout here I see a few of the front desk staff just walk around & hit on girls, including the owners! Especially when the trashes are overflowing you'd think they'd be on top of it. I recommend mountainside fitness or lifetime fitness if you are closer to one! read more

Been a member here for 3 years and love it! They greet me by name, it's incredibly clean (you could eat off the floors here), all the equipment works well and when things break, they fix it really fast. The gym owner is really kind and is always paying attention to little things to make the place better like bright new bench covers, rearranging equipment to make it more functional, and just general upgrades for the showers, machines, etc. They really care about feedback and it's the best gym you can get for this price. It's a 20 minute drive from me but it's worth it even though there are many closer gyms! It's never too crowded and as a girl, sometimes I like to hide in a corner or a room by myself, and this gym is perfect for that. You guys are the best read more

This is one of the best gyms I've ever been to and I've been to expensive gyms in san francisco and liftetime fitness in scottsdale. Of course this is a more budget gym compared to the above mentioned and don't have sauna or pool... But for me whos only trying to bodybuild, i love it! I almost never have to wait for anything even at 5pm! Usually I like to keep these gyms empty for myself, but I've been feeling bad because not enough people come here. Like... look at the photo I posted at 5pm! The staff is super nice, its 24/7. They have sledding (great for knee health). Even lifetime didn't have sledding... Anyways. This gym is a well-kept secret. I don't want to rate it so high because now more people will show up. Excellent variety of machines. Lots of cardio options. Lots of free weights and good free-weight space. Several press benches. Several squat/deadlift stations. An entire studio room for boxing, dancing (mirror walls), and active classes. Another room for active classes, soft floor turf. Very helpful staff. Very clean. read more

I was a member for one hour. On my first visit I received a really rushed tour, the girl really didn't want to deal with me trying the equipment. We got back to the front desk, and I asked a question about looking at a specific piece of equipment and was told that we couldn't. I guess you only get one shot at the tour. I asked for a day pass so that I could check it out on my own... her response: "$15". I asked for a complimentary pass... she said they don't do that. It's the first time in over 40 years that I've even heard of a gym that didn't give out complimentary passes. They were having a special, so I went back 2 days later and just enrolled for 1 month. I walked around the floor and observed that they are really short on plates. A guy was doing 1-legged presses on the leg press machine because there weren't enough plates for him to use both legs. There were 2 leg presses and 2 hack squat machines in a row... and less than 1,000 lbs. for all of them to share. The seated calf raise had 3-35lb. plates on a rack 10-15' away, if you need more you have to steal them from another machine. It was the same story on other plate-loaded equipment. I only saw 1 free-standing plate rack. They're several 1,000's of lbs. short on plates for their equipment. It was hilarious when a woman showed up and wanted to use the 2nd leg press... she and the guy who was already there kept bumping into each other as they tried to scrounge plates. I tried the cable row... the close grip parallel handle had old dried-out rubber falling off of it, it wasn't even 1/2 covered. They have the oddest cable machine I've ever seen! The stacks have DOUBLE pulleys! It's a 4:1 mechanical advantage. I was doing the entire stack on stiff-armed pulldowns! Did I mention that they keep it really warm? At least 4-5 degrees warmer than other gyms. I spent an hour there; it was more than enough. On my way out I dropped off my tag at the front desk and asked them to cancel my membership. They didn't give me a receipt of any kind. Hope they don't pull an L.A. Fitness on me! read more

This place is great. The manager Fernando is a very nice and attentive to the gym members. I love this place! The staff is always friendly and willing to help. It's clean love how they have spray bottle of cleaning solution at the paper towel dispensers and the other gym-goers have always been respectful of space. My favorite is having a personal trainer have a 24 hit class . Aviana really helps to keep me focussed and motivated. She really knows how to keep it interesting. Definitely do a trial week and get to meet a trainer (also I really like the way they price the gym- it makes going as a couple much easier too!). The greatest yet is they added a new kids club that is very inviting and fun for kids. read more

A lot of new equipment in this gym. My favorite is working out on the patio. Every dumbbell, kettlebell and machine you could want or need. There is a desperate room for classes or alternative style workouts. The ability to open the door with phone outside regular business hours is legit. The staff Eric and Patrick are friendly and personable, always helping members. read more

Not a very good first experience! I woke up at 5am to come workout. It's currently 5:40am I'm outside trying to get in and have been for 10 mins. I see one person inside. I've tried knocking, calling pushing the button on the side. What's the point of 24 hours if I'm here early and ready and no ones letting me in? This is pretty terrible service. I'll update how my actual workout is if I ever get let inside. Update: I called the later that day after I wasn't able to get it. The guy notified me then that I was supposed to download an app and that would take 24 hours to give me access. Why I wasn't told that the day before idk. I already lost out on one day and then now another 24 hours. And I was on a 3 day trial. He knew that and was just like oh ya that doesn't give you much time. Ya duh. Also no one tried to reach out or anything after. It sucks cause I was actually planing on signing up me and my husband. But I guess to EOS we go. read more

This review is for the Mesa-Mckellips location, which does not have a separate yelp profile, it appears. I had the strangest, most negative experience at this gym. It started with this staff member having problem with where I reracked step-ups but never directly talking to me about this issue. When I learned of the problem from someone else, I suggested that a compromise could be made. Instead, all the step-ups were locked away so that nobody could access them. My first and only interaction with this staff member was to ask her for access to the locked away step-ups. This staff member immediately treated me rudely by threatening to deny my request unless I agreed to return the step-ups back to the locked room. Later, when I attempted to return the step-ups, she had left to gone home and left the step-up room locked. Needless to say, I was infuriated and voiced my anger. The problematic staff member heard about my angry comments and cancelled my membership for being rude to her in a conversation in which she wasn't part of because she was at her home, not unlocking rooms that she wanted equipment to be returned to. I've never experienced this level of pettiness and drama in my life, not even when I was a teenager. I'm truly confused, angered, and saddened by this whole experience. EOS is right across the street, so I highly recommend giving them a try before 1440, frankly I wish I had done that too. And I wish you all the luck and support in your fitness journey. read more

I stopped in the Mesa Gym and canceled with two days left in the trial period. I was told I would not have to pay anything since I canceled on time. About three weeks later I was shopping in that shopping center and had a 30-minute wait on some work I was having done in another shop. I went over to 1440 fitness to make sure everything was taken care of with my account. I was told there was no record and I would have to pay the monthly and annual fees. The place is a ripoff and I suggest not going there. They must learn to allow those members injured during a workout to cancel during the trial period without scamming to charge unearned fees. Do not threaten any member. The manager threatened to keep charging monthly and annual fees during any dispute process I start, though I shall only have worked out in the gym that one time and have canceled my membership. The manager says he can refund the fees, restart the membership, and then charge late fees and the original fees after the dispute is completed. Thus, effectively denying members legal recourse and due process of law. DO NOT JOIN THE 1440 FITNESS GYM. read more

This gym is incredible. I've been a member here for 2 years and it has only gotten better since its opening. The gym is very clean, it has plenty of new and modern equipment, a large turf area, great aesthetics, friendly staff, and a diverse crowd of members. In short, it has everything. I worked with a couple trainers here and they were very helpful and effective. Management cares about the members, equipment, and cleanliness. If a machine breaks, it is quickly fixed. There is plenty of space and enough equipment for everyone. They offer various classes and have great membership rates. Of all the gyms I've gone to over the years, this one is my favorite. Had to pay $100 in order to get a "free" first month and because I'm moving out of state and my work schedule I only got to use my membership a handful of times. I have to pay a $48 payment to cancel. First time and last time here. The employees are nice but I don't plan on coming back.I was stuff having to pay more than $284 in fees for a membership I couldn't use. I was in the process of moving out of state and I kept having to mention about wanting to cancel my membership only to be told I can't do it over the phone. I finally was able to make time to come in and they canceled my membership in less than 5 minutes not even checking my id ( they would tell me that they can't do it over phone was for ID policy) . A month into my new place and I was receiving notifications about account withdrawals from the gym. I called and they told me that it would be a 45 day profess after I was told that it would be immediately. I ended up going back and forth for over 2 months and ended having to get the bbb involved because body was taking me serious and I was being told different things. read more
