I called ahead to make sure they had the selection of plates I was looking for. Staff answered phone quickly and told me exactly what I needed to hear. I drove to the store and went straight to the front counter and told them what I needed. They rang me in, filled my car, and off I went. I wasn't on the premise for more than 10 minutes. Staff were all wearing masks. Hand sanitizer and masks are available at the front door for customers. My advice, this store is massive. If you want service, don't wait for them to come to you. Grab the bull by the horns and go to the front desk and ask for help. read more

Went there to buy a stationary bike. It was about a 40 minute drive one way. Waited, waited and waited some more. There seemed to be more staff there than customers. A lady came in about 10 minutes after me looking at stationary bikes as well. They served her first. Here is the question to ask, "Who's next". It really is not that tough. Untrustworthy business practices all around by this place. I was researching their website and talking to staff for over a week as I planned out a rack/weight setup. Days before Black Friday they increased the price of several items on their website by $50-$100. I inquired a couple of times why this change occurred and if they would honor the prices I was quoted but never received a reply. I tried to return a stationary bike that I purchased only weeks before. The bike is still brand new and not even removed from its box. The thing that angers me the most is the fact that they don't tell you that your purchase is final. You need to read it in the fine print on your receipt which in 99% of cases is when you get home. We have been customers of Fitness Depot for 12 years and just purchased our fourth group of gym equipment. After comparing with Flaman, we found the manager, Sandie, more knowledgeable and helpful by far. She helped us as soon as we walked in. Delivery was set up quickly and "not around 3 weeks.....". The quality of their Canadian Built product was appreciated and they didn't resort to "American built" and "American Steel" as their main focus. Would definitely recommend Fitness Depot. read more

I purchased a bench press and a rack with the intention of using them together. I purchase the rack after the bench but informed the sales person what bench I had when selecting the rack. After assembling them, I found they can't be used together (bench is same width as rack). I called the store and they told me I had to buy a new bench from them (at cost or so they said) and I had to sell my new bench on Kijiji to recover cost. What a terrible approach in customer service! I have dealt with them for years and not had any problems, but this is enough for me to not recommend shopping there and enough for me to never go back. read more

I purchased a Bremshey elliptical from Fitness Depot and was assured it was a good quality machine. Shortly after I started using it one of the foot pedals broke. I contacted them and was given their warranty department down east. After talking with them they did send me a replacement part but it took several weeks. Eventually the other side broke and I first contacted them over 2 months ago. As the machine is still under warranty they said they will replace it. After a month I had not yet received the part so I contacted them and found out that they didn't have the part in stock and so ordered it from the manufacturer. When inquiring about the length of time it would take to receive the part, I was told it was sent by boat from China. Obviously this is not a quality machine and I am totally unimpressed with their service and I will not purchase from their company again. read more

This company is the most unprofessional I have seen. We went to look at the M2 home gym and walked through all of the feature of the gym was given a brochure of what it would look like as there was not a display set up. First was told that Fitness Depot buys all home gyms with 200lb stacks so decided to purchase when we went to pay the guy says it only comes with 160lbs so discounts the price to make the upgrade which is normally $133.00 cost us $13.00 so fine load the machine and take it home, unload it all in the basement and start looking at the instructions. The machine is not even the same one that he showed us in the brochure. It was missing some of the features. Call them the next morning and they said they would talk to the regional manager and get back to us. He calls back and says that they will give us an M3 older model but brand new but we need to bring the M2 back but keep the pads and shrouding. As you can imagine it is a lot of work but we reload the gym and call in the mid morning to tell him we will be there at lunch. Then the Manager says there is no way they are giving us the M3 and we need to bring everything back so they expected us to go home and get the pads and shrouding. They never apologized and acted like they were doing us a favor because they have a no return policy. The Manager even said now she has an M2 floor model she doesn't even want. Needless to say we took a refund and would never deal with this company again. read more
