I had a very disappointing and humiliating experience at the Mesquite Fitness Connection location that needs to be addressed by management. When I arrived with my 3-year-old grandson to use the kids club, the supervisor named Silvia immediately told me they would not watch him because she insisted he was not three years old. I calmly explained that he was in fact three years old and even provided his birth certificate as proof. Despite showing her the official birth certificate, Silvia continued to question me repeatedly as if I was lying. Instead of apologizing after seeing the documentation, she continued to argue and treated me in a very dismissive and accusatory manner in front of others. From the moment I walked in, her attitude was hostile and unprofessional. As a paying member, I expect to be treated with respect. Being repeatedly challenged and embarrassed even after providing proof was unacceptable and made me feel singled out and discriminated against. Supervisors are supposed to resolve issues professionally, not escalate them or make members feel uncomfortable. This experience left a very negative impression of this location. Management should seriously address how customers are treated at this facility. No member should have to go through an experience like this simply for bringing their child to the kids club. I hope corporate reviews this situation and ensures better training and accountability for staff moving forward. read more

If I could give zero stars I would honestly horrible staff and gym environment to be in. Having too much trouble dealing with them for my membership and my moms as well.They overcharged my card I paid cash once for my Moms may payment I guess they guy did it wrong on the system cuz it shows it hasn't been paid canceled my membership for those reasons. Another reason for us canceling was when I brought my friend with me to work out on a pass the front staff guy gave me too much trouble and was being racist and mean toward my friend couldn't believe it. He said supposedly he was the manager when I asked for someone else to speak with and he still couldn't act right that's hilarious. The customer service at this location has went way down hill, they can't even keep up with there own policies or anything no one wants to take accountability on things that are going wrong up there. not to mention I asked and they put in the system to cancel my daughters kids club membership 3 months ago on top of that they start charging me 5 dollars more on my membership with a notice also the fan in the Group class room has been out for the last 6 to 7 months so what are they using the money that we are paying for membership and maintenance fees then I called customer care they are no help as well and they act even slower and no help as well this company is just horrible now and there are to many other gyms out right now read more

I've been a member of this facility for years and I can't relate to the reviews of it being unclean. Particularly since Covid, I've seen the cleaning staff clean during operating hours and make sure that trash bins are emptied and the disinfecting sprays bottles are full. I even noticed how much cleaner the women's locker room/restroom has gotten - major plus! Is this facility spotless, no... but I wouldn't expect it to be with the amount of foot traffic it gets. To expect the cleaning staff to clean after every individual who drops paper towel (or leave trash somewhere) the moment it happens, is unrealistic. The staff is very friendly and have always worked to assist me with whatever issues at the time. I love that they always give friendly salutations when entering/exiting. Zero complaints, W staff. The only reason(s) why I didn't give this facility 5 stars is because of its high crowds in the main and women's training area. It wouldn't be as bad if people didn't stay on machines too long or nurse 2-3 different free weights at a time. Not sure how that can be regulated, but it's an issue. I hope they consider going back to 24hr because it would definitely alleviate some of the crowding. There has been a couple of incidents at this location that was a cause for concern, but you can see that management made steps to limit those things from happening in the future. I really like working out here both for the amenities and the cost I got for a special they have. First, I'm no gym rat but have gone to a few gyms and the inventory of machines is impressive. Sure some are worn and need adjustments but I often see a repair team here taking care of the machines which is reassuring. The cardio area is also pretty huge w several options. Classes, an open "grass" workout area and basketball court are all part of the gym. The only time I'm ever really frustrated here is how they allow members to blare music from speakers. It's such a distraction and I do wish staff would implement a rule about it or just take time to monitor the gym floor. Otherwise the staff has always been friendly and helpful and I'm still happy to come back and get my workouts in. read more

If I had to describe this gym with a single word, it would be "unreliable". I've been a member of this gym since it first opened, so it's a shame to see how bad it's declined over the years. It used to be open 24hrs a day and it was the most reliable gym in the area - sadly those days are far behind. It's become so inconsistent, that I've had to start looking for a backup gym or one to ditch fitness connection altogether. I've lost count of how many times this gym has decided to open late, close early, or take an entire day off - always with extremely short notice or none at all. Members are literally left out to dry, having to walk up to the door only to find that it's been locked and the gym is closed. If a consistent and reliable schedule is important to health and fitness, how can you continue to be part of a gym that doesn't value its members or their time - slashing its hours and not even bothering to maintain its shorter schedule. It's pretty frustrating and not something you'd expect from a good gym. read more

Never again, dirty bathrooms and showers. Overall, was able to get in a decent workout, but it surprises me how there are several workers on the floor, yet the restrooms are filthy. To add, the lack of gym etiquette is off the chain. I have never seen so many plates on the floor and out of place. I've been to others locations like Hulen and Allen Fitness Connection and they are way cleaner with less employees. This gym is promising, as they have a cool smoothie restaurant on the inside. I am so livid with fitnesses connection. I canceled my gym membership back in January and I am still getting billed for this place. This company is refusing to refund my money and will continue to bill me. Yes I have followed the cancellation steps that where on the paper that I received yet still laura in customer service is still stating that I will continue to get billed and no refund. Leaving a voicemail with Cari a supervisor . Lets see what they say. I will never recommend ANYONE to ANY Fitness Connection. They give you a paper showing how the cancellation process is done and at the bottom of this page it says in bold letters That Certified Mail is recommended, Not that it is required. Then when you call the 1800 number you talk to a live person and they tell you No its Required and we can't help you unless it was sent Certified. This company is taking people's money!!! So heres my reply to your response.....Okay again i see what you wrote and trying to still charge me....You stated that its in the contract that you need to send a certified letter...etc....I sent a letter to the address on this page that your establishment gave me. I went here for a fitness instructors event. This gym has only been open less than a week. The parking lot has some construct debris, it smelled like fresh paint, and bathroom doors were still being installed when I was here. But based on what I've seen and experienced the 3 days I was here, I was pretty impressed. The whole gym is bright and well-lit. It's huuuuge. They have 2 floors. Lots of machines and free weights. They have filtered water stations, basketball court, a group fitness room, and a childcare center. The staff and management here seem to be friendly but I must say the front desk staff could have a bit more pep. They're the first thing members see as soon as they walk in and to some members, getting to the gym is a huge deal but if you see an unfriendly frowny face, that can change your mood. When the gym isn't crowded it's a nice place to workout. Other than that it's a mess, it's not very clean, they don't even clean the basketball courts, you'll slip and slide all over the place. People STEAL here constantly, and they have all these rules and only in force like 5 of them. They really should go back to 24 hours so people can actually come and workout, which would help decrease crowding at the gym, and it might actually give the cleaning crew time to actually come and clean the gym. read more

Somewhat clean location. Its not the best parking lot a lot of broken glass, and the bathrooms are very dirty. 24 hour fitness vibes. I've been going to this location since June, moving back to Texas from California, and even though this gym isn't 24 hours, it still has a lot of machines and a price that is pretty unbeatable. I was paying twice as much back in California with the childcare included. I will admit when I first started going here, some of the staff was more concerned with going on breaks and interrupting gym sign ups than checking in customers. Since then, the staff has been nothing short of amazing. The young Hispanic girl at the front is always so friendly, nice, and welcoming, upon arrival and leaving. I believe they they have new management and that management is really on it with demanding good customer service across the board. The dumbbell area is ALWAYS going to be packed anywhere you go, but for the size of this gym, the amenities, and the price, the amount of complaining is just a bunch of Kyles and Karens that feel they need to give input to be noticed. So why the 4 stars, right? My only drawback is that there are machines that are constantly down, and it's usually the same machines. I'm sure it has to do with mishandling because some people that work out feel they need attention when they're lifting, but that's the same at any gym. This is the second time this week that I come to workout early in the morning to get a great start to my day only to come and find out the staff isn't here. I come at 4AM to workout! And they're not here when they're supposed to open. As I speak it's 5:30 AM and still, no employee has showed up. There's been people at the door with me and others at the parking lot since 4 waiting to workout. I've seen people come and go and still no employee has come. I've been here an hour and a half and it's frustrating coming to the gym and nobody being here. Overcrowded you will spend your time waiting on equipment instead of exercising. Or you'll spend your time walking the entire gym trying to find weights or equipment that are never put back / picked up. There's next to no cellular signal in the building (for all carriers) and although they have a WiFi good luck getting on it! Which wouldn't be an issue unless you're trying to watch something while doing cardio... they have a ton of TVs but they're all on sports and no closed captioning. You get what you pay for and here is even a little more than gyms of this quality. It's for sure showing signs of wear. read more

The staff there are friendly although the personal training staff could use some humbleness as they act unapproachable and some act better then the rest. Membership is really cheap although it is a pain to cancel it if it's not a fit for you. The gym setup of weights and equipment is very nice. They have everything you need. However, beware if you pay to utilize the services from some of the Certified personal trainers at this particular (Mesquite) facility. Their most senior personal trainer (Jose) was rude and disrespectful to me once I decided not to pay for the utilization of his services, as he wanted me to sign up and pay to retain him as my personal trainer. Personal Training sessions are not included with the standard gym membership costs. They only give you the first consultation with a trainer free, then you must pay for all follow on sessions if you want to continue to use them. Other trainers may be good there, but my experience with Jose was definitely a negative experience. I advice anyone looking for personal trainer assistance to stay away from Jose. They have several other trainers on staff, both male and female, you can go to instead, to help accomplish your fitness goals. read more

I have been to many a gyms and I must say so far this has been one of my favorites! This location is very big and has an abundance of equipment! The staff is very friendly and seems to be pretty knowledgeable..for the most part. They have an expansive assortment of machines which is very nice. One of my favorite things about this gym is the 'women section' which is a moderate size portion of the gym strictly for women, that includes a 'cardio' media room (basically treadmills and such with a big screen in front). All in all I'm impressed and don't mind giving them my $10 a month. read more

I have both pros and cons: Pros- I absolutely love this gym! I get my workout in first thing in the morning and have never run into any issues with staff or members. I also have never had to wait for a machine or weight, which I love. For $10 a month, I find that it fulfills all my needs. Cons- That being said, I have two cons: 1) The lack of re-racking your weights has gotten ridiculous, especially in the women's only section. Walking in this morning, the women's section looked to be missing dozens of weights but in reality they were misplaced everywhere. I have made it my warm-up to re-rack weights and I get here at 5:30am. It continues to get worse and I know it's on both members and staff, but please people, have some pride in your ability to always put stuff back. 2) The music has been broken for over a week and is rather infuriating. I cant give this location a five-star as I wanted to. me and my husband are new to the area so we had to change locations the closest one to us is the Mesquite location. However this location I came here couple times before but since I moved closer I'm starting to come to this location more often the only reason thing I don't like this location is the smell coming in and coming out. I know it's a gym and people sweat.. I never had a problem with the other location we was going there for 3 years. It's a great idea to suggest the smelling problem of coming in and coming out. They are known for their rip off tactics - now they added a new one - you want to work out, you need to have gloves on, and if you did not bring them, they will sell you a PAIR for $5+tax! My 1-star rating has absolutely nothing to do with the gym, however, membership services have a business model that prays on members attempting to cancel their membership because they refuse to cancel the membership unless you write/type a letter to corporate and send with certified mail. My first attempt to cancel I sent a letter through regular mail and 8 months later I realized I was still being charged. Shame on me for not doing my checks & balances on my financial statements, but give me a break and just cancel my membership. I live in the DC area and I enrolled in membership just to work out for a week in Mesquite Texas. Over crowded but I found coming later at night is a bit better however, the tvs are not always turned on and no one at the front desk is allowed to work the remotes at night. There's about 40 tvs and 35 of them had the same baseball game while it was Game 6 of the GS and Raptors finals, and the other tvs are on golf. The front desk didnt have permission to change it. The women section tv is often on Fox news :/ read more
