After the remodel and new management was put in place, this place is great! It's clean, there's plenty of equipment and the classes are great! The only downside is that the sauna is ridiculously small (at least in the women's restroom), so if you go in there, be prepared to sit snuggled up next to someone else. I have been a member for many years. Staff customer service skills are lacking. Not enough stations available to wipe down equipment. Most people don't wipe after use and leave massive sweat behind. I have tried to cancel my membership for the past six months. They make so difficult to cancel. I have not been in the gym in over a year, but continued to pay monthly. When I contacted what was suppose to be corporate and requested to cancel my membership due to medical reasons, the individual was extremely rude and dismissive. She gave me some spill about a contract. I do not have a current contract. The last contract I had was a one year one in 2023. This is 2026! I spoke with her in March and requested immediate cancellation. She did not submit the cancellation until April and said it will end at the end of April. this gym has spacious floor space and lots of machines, a dedicated cardio room & team member Anthony provided top tier customer service!! this location does not have a pool. there are workout classes and even a designated women's workout area. got one of the showers to produce hot water however one of the showers didn't seem to be able to turn on and had a non-user friendly faucet handle. read more

Not very clean. Half the machines don't have pegs to adjust weight. People don't wipe off equipment because the cleaning stations are super spread out. Don't have many cable attachments or a rack to hold them (so they get nasty on the floor). Bathrooms (female) needs a renovation-- stalls smell like pee daily because the plumbing sucks. I had the worst experience here yesterday when I tried to exercise with my main man. I had received a 5-day free pass from the Greenspoint location and the people there only told me the pass could work in 24 hours. I didn't use it anymore that day. I come here yesterday trying to use it and I get interrogated by one of the managers or the fitness trainers. He basically took me into his office, not telling me why we were going in there. Justin, was his name. He was the most disrespectful individual and his first impression to me was very sour. He had a major attitude; I don't know what crawled up his butt and died! He assumed that I had used to free-day pass multiple times and he judged me when I told him no, I couldn't afford a membership for $10 a month. He didn't take no for an answer. He made me feel so uncomfortable--I felt like cussing him out and honestly I didn't wanna be there anymore. He lacked customer skills on the real. He told me that I needed to pay $5 right now or pay $289 and I told him no that I wasn't because this is my first time to exercise at this gym. I repeatedly told him that this was the only time I was going to exercise and that I didn't need a paid membership when I can just go to my school they have a FREE gym. It just doesn't make any sense to me to pay for a membership--when at my college we have a same equipment, a lot friendlier there and a lot less people, plus it's free--that sounds like more a deal to me! He again persuaded me to pay. He was like a dictator that couldn't understand the word NO! I told him that I didn't want a membership since the word is that it's difficult to get out of a contract; he then thought of some ridiculous excuses to shove down my throat telling that it was simple to get out of a membership. Heck, already my temper had turned raw and I just wanted to get out of his office. He was definitely money-hungry and he only getting paid minimum wage..he wouldn't get off my back. He finally let me exercise got a few and kept my driver's license. When I asked him why he was keeping my license and rudely said, well I just told you why. Honestly, it was quite difficult to understand his words because he was mumbling like his lips were glued to his teeth. So, yes he was by far the meanest staff member there. Now, the girl in the front was nice and didn't give me a hard time at all. Now for the gym: it was super packed. TV's everywhere playing different channels: fifth element, boy meets world, cooking network, all was playing. Elliptical trainers, treadmills, weight room area, some machines were broken, and they didn't even have all of weights for the bar. The quantity is good here, but the quality is crap. The gym at my campus is a whole lot better. If I could report Justin to higher authorities I definitely would. He has too much hot air in his ego. He shouldn't treat first guests like crap. Beware of Justin and the hint of a free five day pass. It isn't really free, to be used 5 everyday (consecutive) days, and once you use it that one time they will mark their initials in each box on the back, also they keep the card once you leave. I want to add that the staff at the Greenspoint location was a lot nicer too. I definitely won't be coming back here. read more

I've been member here since January 2005. The gym was well kept. As years past it 's upkeep Became very poorly. So bad that I even hurt myself on a broken bike that wasn't tagged as being broken. I tried Pasadena's location and it was ok with the exception of the moldy dirty tiles. I continued to pay membership. Finally August 2018 . Almeda was remolded with new and better equipment. As of October 2019 there's machines That I'ver reported broken and still in use. They have no capacity to change channels on screens. The time changed two weeks ago and the clocks remain the same. I'm a member at 24 hour fitness and came here with a coworker. This place is super clean and have all the gym necessities. Also, there's a lot of space. The only thing I didn't care for was that there were not a lot of platters available (no 35??) and there was only 1 water fountain on the first floor that is close to the front. I've done the membership at many, if not all gyms. My dad and brother have always been fitness nuts. Me not so much, but I refuse diets, so exercise is an essential. Fitness Connection has everything I need at the price I desire. I don't believe in paying a lot of money on unnecessary extras. You're either going to get the job done or you're not. I actually prefer free, as in pavement at the park or social bike rides, except in the winter. They have plenty of machines to workout on and so far all the one's I've tried are functional. Some of my favorite workouts are the classes. Insanity, Yoga, Boot Camp, Body Pump are among my favorites. I have a Zumba class I enjoy outside the gym. Where we Work it out Bitch! Just know Fitness Connection offers that too. Come shake da booty and Pump it! Pump it! Pump it! I do try and stay away during January and February from the New Year's Resolution folks. Parking is awful, the gym is crowded, it's just crazy. Don't worry by March it's back to normal. Right NOW is the best time to get a membership. Let me tell you why! If you do the VIP membership for $20, you have access to all the Fitness Connections and you can bring a pal. WAIT that's not ALL, they don't have to have a membership. They don't receive a week pass, a month pass, nothing. They DO get to be your guest when you want as long as you want. Dude, bromance in the making! Ladies, bring your best motivator. This place was just remodeled and the place looks so much better and not so dark. More machines and a separate cardio area (with more machines). Men's sauna area was increased and got a face lift. The only suggestion I would make is that they need to put water bottle fill up stations throughout the gym. read more

It is an economical gym! If you are on a budget this is the gym for you. No hidden fees! When you are signing up, tell them you don't want the vitamin package to lower your cost. They also offer group classes like kickboxing, zumba, cycling, & others. They have trainers for those who would like them too! They have a number of machines, kids area & women workout area. Compared to my past experiences at a gym, Fitness Connection @ Gulf Fwy is the worst of the worst. I have never felt the need to write a review of a gym, but this must be said. LADIES DO NOT COME HERE!! The men here will stare and make you feel extremely uncomfortable. I can not emphasize enough how uncomfortable I felt in the past two days I've gone here. Currently I'm using the 5 day free pass, but after the pass ends, I will not be coming back. There are so many creepy men here, one tried to hit on me, and others stared at my friend's CROTCH when she was working out. The amount of men staring at me and friend when we were trying to workout is so disgusting. Even though there is a women's area, it is limited and will most likely not have everything you need to complete a workout. The weights and machines are dirty, and there is no gym wipe in sight. The free weights are unorganized and it's extremely hard to find the weights you need to rack your machine. There's also not enough squat racks here either, and the ones who use it hog it. The people here also do not re-rack their weights after a workout. It's the staff's job to put everything in an orderly fashion, but there is no staff in sight. With the lack of cameras, maybe the staff should be walking around monitoring proper gym etiquette. All in all, this place is disgusting, unorganized, full of perverted men, and is NOT worth even the $10 a month. read more

I have been coming to this location for about 3 months now and the spinning classes are full for the 6pm classes. People have been signing up for their friends for class when they aren't even at the gym to sign themselves up. So people who are here on time aren't able to sign up for a class because of this ongoing issues. Class begins at 6pm and now I have to be at the gym at 5pm to make sure I have a spot. Craziness. IIt's a good sized gym with good selections of weights and machines. The gym is extremely poorly maintained with dirty floors, dirty smelling bathrooms, dirty showers. The gym guests are inappropriately dressed like from the streets. No managers care or no friendly service. Its very hard to cancel your membership. The 1800 number is a voice mail, plus they charge you even when you cancel after one month. The parking lot invites thieves and cars are constantly broken in. Your car is NOT SAVE. Oh my gosh! If I can give no star..I would. Gave this gym a second chance after having continuous problems with their bathroom facilities and unavailability of staff when needed. Once again I'm having trouble exact same issues. I was told by an employee that I needed to send in my key tag to cancel my membership and I did just that in a January of this this year. Shortly after I was charged an additional month and they say my membership was still active. Why do I have to get charged an additional month just because their employees don't inform their customers with the CORRECT process. I get charged money because it got lost in the mail? Makes no sense...What happened to the customer is always right ? I then sent in yet ANOTHER form of cancellation and it was surprisingly received. Now I'm left with an additional month topped off with a late fee. Wowwww makes no sense when I tried to cancel in January with the help of an employee.
