Life fit wall.

I've been going to Life fit for over a year now. I have seen the gym grow through the people that attend the classes. Fabian writes great circuit workouts, 1 hour of your day has never gone by faster. Adrian, Angel , Lucy, Maria and Valeria are all super helpful and can tend to any needs you might come across. Every hour there is a new class, restrooms and lockers, I leave my stuff out and I have never had a problem with my stuff being taken. It's truly a judge free community. Want to try a heavy rep? Do it, someone's got your back. Want to eat better? Say something, someone will help you out. Everyone here wants you to be your best self. They will push you, but can see when you reach your limit. Everyday I am there I am disiplined to push myself, along with Fabian, Adrian and Lucy to push me even more. I love it. You'll love it. First class is free!

The only exercise I looked forward to were my weekly walks a girlfriend because we could catch up on life. A year later... on and off dieting.... no results... I didn't gain but is sure didn't lose anything either.... I was that person who has been wanting to try Crossfit for years but thinking there is no way I'll make it through one workout. Guess what - I did and continue to every single time! It has been one month and I have lost 10 lbs; and 1.5 to 2 inches all over. What is even more surprising to me - I ENJOY it! I read plenty of reviews about different crossfit locations that talk about community, inspiration, and motivation and have been extremely skeptical... until now. At Crossfit Vertigo, instead of community, I feel like I have found a family, yes in this short of time. On my first day and in every class since, if I haven't met a member, they will come and introduce themselves. EVERYONE is genuinely nice and encouraging. Just when you want to say forget this and want to quit, your family is right there to remind you that you're almost there and you CAN finish. This sense of family is instilled by Crossfit Vertigo's coaches, Kurt, Laura and Keri. Each coach is approachable, knowledgeable, and supportive. They are all impressive athletes, who care about your progress. They are able to scale their approach to coaching a complete newbie (ME) to a seasoned CrossFitter so that we all participate in the workout of the day (WOD) together. CrossFit Vertigo is accommodating, supportive, challenging and motivational. I couldn't ask for more. Thank you Crossfit Vertigo!

I am way overdue for reviewing Hotworx-Pearland…read more This is my regular/daily workout since Cyclebar Pearland closed. Infrared Heat Benefits At first I was resistant to the hot sauna aspect of the workout since you already get hot during a workout and I'm already a sweaty lady but now I absolutely love the infrared heat! It really does flush out toxins, is great for your skin, reduces/eliminates soreness that can come with a workout, also relieves pain and stress. I always come out of my workouts feeling great! It's perfect after a long days work, to kick off your day or for a midday pick me up. Workout Sessions I love the variety of workouts which makes for great cross training. The workouts are a variety of HIIT/cardio and isometric/floor exercises. Since they're hot (it's recommended the workouts be in the 120 degree range for optimal effectiveness), the HIIT workout sessions (cycle, blast/elliptical-ish bike, rowing) are only 15 minutes long and they are a little more challenging than a longer workout since they're shorter. The iso's (yoga, stretch, Pilates, core, bands, Barre, buns) are 45 min . I typically do a 45min - 1.5 hr workout combo of the different sessions or a quick 30 min if I'm low on time or energy. The saunas There are about 7 different hot sauna rooms that play on demand virtually instructed videos that run every 15 minutes (HIIT workouts) and every 45 minutes (Isometric workouts). Supplies You're given a mat and towel with your membership, that are specifically designed for the hot sauna and it is the only mat that will work with the saunas' heat. Cost Hotworx is very reasonably priced at $59/mo for one studio location or $79/mo to workout at all Hotworx location, which is nice bc they have locations EVERYWHERE so it is a great way to keep up with your workout if you go out of town. You also get a month free, if you get to 25,000 calories burned within a 3 month period which is tracked through their app.Its very easy to rack up 25,000 if you're going regularly. Booking thru the app You reserve your workouts through the app, which is nice bc you can see if anyone else has also booked a sauna during a particular time. Although, you're welcome to use a sauna without booking if a spot is available. Each sauna holds 3 people. Staff The staff is great and super friendly. I love that they always run to open the front door for everyone. It's especially helpful when I'm struggling, trying to hold my mat, water, towel etc. Side note, you have to use the Hotworx app to buzz yourself in at the entrance. So if you don't have a membership, you can't get into Hotworx outside of regular business hours. Cancelling The only negative about Hotworx is it's one of those places where you have to provide a 30-day written notice to cancel. Luckily for me I don't have any plans to cancel anytime soon.

I saw an ad online for a free workout. I shared my info and received a text and email to complete registration for the free workout. Nothing major- just my name, contact info and the type of workout I wanted to do for my session. I decided to do a full body workout which was called the Hot Iso. What's unique about these workouts is that they all occur in an infrared sauna. Each pod has space for three people. As a first timer, however, I was given the space to myself. A few things to keep in mind-no shoes in the saunas, you are to wipe your mat down upon finishing the workout, you can control the temp and volume of the workout which is lead by a virtual trainer and the workouts are only 30 minutes! The sauna and the workouts are suppose to provide optimum benefits with less time working out. That is a win. I also liked that the workout provides 3 ways the modify each exercise led by the instructor. However, I could see during peak times when you may have to share space that maybe there's someone who desires a less than hot sauna or maybe needs the volume louder during the workout. Could be problematic...but as my guide shared, non peak times will give you the most space and choices to workout. You may also decide you want to try out several different workouts during your visit. That's fine. Just as long as you sign up for the class. People can sign up for classes up until the last minute before the class starts, so just be aware. You may be wondering how this place compares to a typical gym. They actually have a free weight area that also have virtual trainers to lead random exercises with you. A stretch area is also included in the small space. Two restroooms are apart of the gym. One with a shower in fact, but you'd have to use the restroom as the dressing room because this space only has cubbies and small lockers for possessions. That maybe a deal breaker for someone who would come workout before work and runs the risk of several people needing to shower after working out. Most likely, most do not and probably live close to this location, thus running home to get a shower and dress for work. What is great is the 24 hour access to the gym Guests of members can only come inside when staff are present. This particular aspect reminds me when I use to be a member of Snap Fitness. My swipe card allowed me access anytime of tthe day but certain violations would cause penalties or cancelation of membership. I'm sure this place is monitored closely but the distance for me was too great for me to become a member. However, for anyone right in the neighborhood looking to try something new, HOTWORXS is worth a try!

When I began to inquire more about the 'program', the trainer began to grow visibly agitated and proceeded to tell me how he had pulled strings to call the owner and get me that deal. I asked for a physical copy of the contract to read while he was explaining, and he turned the laptop to me and said 'Here!' and started to scroll on his phone. He then said, "It's cool, most people treat me like a car salesman anyway'. I politely gathered my belongings and left. Since when is it a crime to ask questions before I sign my name on a contract? This location is in serious need of deep cleaning. The cup holders on the cardio machines are nasty. The Womens workout area could either use better monitoring or more weights because there simply aren't enough dumbbells. Seriously, if you can make the drive, then just go to the Clear Lake location. They care and are very kind.

For the past year, they've been deducting money from us monthly, I think it's probably more than $500. Today, when I went back to the gym to cancel, the staff said we wouldn't get a refund. I mainly pull up here for the basketball court, and for that, it's not too bad. The court does what a court is supposed to do! No issues, however it use to be what looked like "gunk" and trapped bacteria from humidity on the walls are now gone thankfully, cause it looked terrible Now the rest of the gym? That's where things get a little wild. Cleanliness isn't exactly their strong suit. It kinda feels like they just gave up halfway and said, "Eh, good enough." The locker rooms and weight areas could definitely use some TLC! Especially the men's bathroom, absolutely disgusting Customer service is alright. The staff is cool enough, they'll check you in, smile (sometimes), and keep it moving. At the end of the day, if you're just trying to get some cardio in or hoop a bit, it works. But if you're looking for anything that even remotely resembles a high-end fitness experience this ain't the move!

This place has an indoor lane pool, a sauna, relatively clean restrooms, squat racks, wall wide mirrors, plenty of machines, and folks with pretty ok gym etiquette. As you can imagine, weights are never organized but I never seem to have any issues finding what I need. For more negatives, some treadmills are missing the capability of inclining, some stair masters just dont function, and some seats are pretty beat up. You can find a hole where weights are being dropped near the dumbbells and benches. But I would consider myself a longtime subscriber here. I love going with the wife and the staff members are pretty cool.
