went in the store to set up a monthly membership while I was working in the area for a one month period. I requested that I do the no commitment plan and that it be canceled so that it does not enroll me in the yearly fee and that it does not try to auto enroll me for another month. The team member said that this was done. I called at then end of the month to ensure that this was completed, however it never canceled at this point. I was charged a yearly fee (that was due for members) 2 days after I called and actually got my account canceled. this feed was 2x the monthly subscription price. Also had a negative experience with the gym due to poor maintenance of the facility and the staff. The only was to cancel your membership is to call (but has to be during business hours) or go in person. read more

I Been going for a very long time as I love this gym but recently I had a altercation with the guy in the front desk black guy with braids as he was very rude, very disrespectful, gave bad energy when I was speaking to him, he always being disrespectful. SCAM SCAM SCAM they call center reps are rude and not helpful at all JESSICA FOX was so rude today and didnt help with anything just provided a bad attitude. I have called emailed demanding that this membership gets cancelled and i have yet to hear back from anyone regarding my attempts. I have also not been able to log into the app to cancel this shit and they had the nerve to debit my account today for $67.10.. so of course i called my bank to dispute all transaction also placed a stop payment so they can never do this again. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE go to planet fitness the customer service is better and your not suckered into a trial period that you cant cancel. also filed a BBB complaint against them as well. I cancelled my membership with Fitness Connection the day(June 15, 2026) the annual fee was deducted from my account. I requested a refund of the annual fee due to the fact that it's an annual fee and I would not be a member beyond the cancellation date of 30 days (the end of July). I can understand if I had cancelled a few months after the annual fee, but considering the cancel request was on the same day, I asked for an exception. I spoke to the rep at the gym and she told me to call the "800" number. When I called the "800" number and asked to speak to a manager, I was told to send an email. I sent an email and requested a call from the manager. Instead, I received an email response from a lead customer service specialist. The email wecare@fitnessconnection.com seems like an oxymoron considering speaking to anyone beyond the "800" number is non existent and the bad customer service experience. I have no doubt an exception can be made, but Fitness Connection only cares about the money and not it's members. I will warn anyone and everyone possible to stay away from Fitness Connection. read more

Enjoy going to this gym. Been going here for a year and I can say it's better than Colaw!! Thanks Rochanda for the help!

Gym rats hog the dumb bells and cables. They have more than three sets of dumb bells then hold conversations while on the cable machines. Move on Gym Rat. read more

Gyms been closed, as soon as they open up we get hit with a annual fee and monthly charge. I cancel my account. Then they still charge me the following month. They never answer the phones, corporate never answers the phone either. I had my bank put a block on my account so they can't charge me further and I am disputing the claim so they can get my money back. Why are gyms notorious for making it IMPOSSIBLE to cancel and still charging you once you cancel. Smh read more

Ok gym for the price. Staff was super nice and makes up for equipment issues. Lot of equipment; but also lots of stuff that is clearly broken with no sign of staff marking it as such. Not really issues with free weights. All the cardio machines (except the one squeaky treadmill) seemed to be working just fine. read more

I have been to fitness connection in Carrollton and I will say this location is so bad. There is no comparison. The machines look like they will fall apart in like two seconds. It smells so bad. Like I understand it's a gym, but the smell was so overbearing. There's very limited machines of each exercise, and the cardio section is just tiny. If you only focus on a couple of machines it's not that bad. And the customer service is actually good. read more

This place is run by crooks and should be shut down immediately. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT get a membership here. I have canceled my membership over 7 years ago, by mail, email, in person... EVERYTHING and I STILL have people calling me for money. Of course I have asked for my contract and nothing has been provided. I repeat DO NOT join this place, it is he definition of disgusting crooks trying to scam people out of money. read more

I have no problem with the gym itself. But as to its unethical and unrighteous business practices, Fitness Connections deserves to be sued. I've had 2 horrible experiences: 1) Late fees and penalties on top of late fees: If your credit card company updates your credit card (in my case, because I got mugged, had my wallet stolen, and had to have every card replaced), Fitness Connection will not notify you that your automated monthly payments aren't being made. Instead--months later or whenever you realize it yourself--you'll find that you've been billed $20 to $30/mo in late fees and penalties. There's no mercy, and if you want to cancel your account you won't be allowed to until you've paid the fees and penalties in full. Imagine how many people have slowly stopped going to the gym, forgotten to cancel their account (or been unwilling to admit they're not working out anymore, and kept it live), had credit card info change over time, and then when they finally decided to cancel found that they owe $100 - $500 in penalties and late fees, but were never notified. 2) Cancellation: Unless you're willing to dedicate more than an hour to cancel your membership in order to save $10 - $20/mo by canceling your membership, you cannot cancel your membership. So time and time again you try calling to cancel, but whether you're caller #52 in the cue or caller #31, when you realize how long the call is going to take, you give up and try calling later...only to find you're stuck. I would guess the company makes the majority of its revenue by members who don't come to the gym but have either forgotten about their monthly fees because the fees are relatively small and billed automatically, or because it's so difficult to cancel that most give up and tell themselves that even if they just go to the gym once or twice a month, the fees are worth it. But of course they don't. So the company keeps making money from countless people every month simply by making it prohibitively difficult to cancel. read more

For the money, this gym is well worth the money. Yes in the past it was difficult to cancel. However, I had several people on my membership and I was able to cancel at the front counter. It is a large gym with many pieces of equipment and free weights. There is also a day care for kids, basketball, and other amenities. There is no pool and the selections of classes is slim. For the money though it is worth it for sure. Great staff and good atmosphere. read more

Spin class on Thursday is a must try! Get there early! Seats fill up by 6:15pm! The gym is large with plenty machines for all different fitness levels. The bathrooms are clean and the sauna is large enough. You can't beat that monthly price either. Memberships start at $9.99 per month. read more

Please do yourself a favor and do not get a membership at fitness connection. My wife and I have joined the Gym but have since moved away. I originally called to cancel my membership but was told I had to mail a letter in to cancel; nothing electronically would work. Plus I since I have two accounts, one for my wife and one for me, I have to send in two letters. Which I did but for some reason money was still drafted for my account, so I called and was told that I had to be charged because they need 30 days notice. After being charged again I was told they never received my letter. I decided to go out of my way to go into the gym I joined but was told that I had to mail in 2 letters once again and to send it certified mail so I have a record of them getting my letter. Ohh and don't forget we will charge you for February since we need 30 days notice! Please note that this is also only for the Dallas area, any other area can cancel online but not Dallas! My recommendation is to join Cliff Nelson Rec center and be able to cancel when you want! read more

I'm a member at S. Cooper in Arlington. The new manager Kyle is useless and lazy. I informed him there are 2 empty soap dispensers and he said he'll take are of it. 2 days later they're still empty. I told an associate Aaron and he immediately filled them back up. The ceiling fans at the club are always on except when there's a power outage and must be restarted. I asked him to turn them back on and he claimed several people complained being too cold so they are left off. That's bunch of BS. Fans were never turned back on after the power outage for people to complain. The former manager Ataleo Ford would turn them back on every time unlike this lazy new manager. read more

This is a nice gym and great and great that there is no Contract however, what they don't tell you when you sign up is you need not only a written 30 day notice but, it also has to be sent by mail. I went to cancel mine 30 days out and because of having to send a written notice I now have to pay an extra month for a gym I won't even go back too. This is ridiculous and I will never send anyone I know to that gym!!!! read more

Tried 4 times this week to cancel my membership over the phone. Called the 800-922-7898 and the Arlington location and its the same result. You will waste your phone battery and your time waiting to only be disconnected once you reach 1 in the queue. Anyone that got a yelp response from the Robin F. (Business Manager), were you able to get your memebership cancelled after emailing their socialmediateam@fitnessconnection.com address? Definitely a trend here and want to be sure that anyone else needing to cancel their membership does not have to experience the same frustration and headaches that some of us went through. I'll post an update after I reach out to them via email. read more

The rating is not against the location in Arlington. It is against the Dallas based management team that requires members who want to cancel their membership. They require that you submit in written form to cancel membership, and mail it in. How antiquated this process is. You cannot even talk to someone to do the cancellation. I think that in this modern age of emails and social media that you should be able to cancel a membership. This is total bullshit and I would not recommend that anyone lock themselves into a membership with this company. There are other fitness centers out there that offer the same service. Please read the other comments about this process. read more

Not clean at all. The whole point of going to health spa improve your health, should be clean. Also you have to go through a lot of runaround to cancel your plan . You have to mail A written notice to cancel. Already difficult to cancel as it is but with this makes it harder , that shows a little bit of manipulation. read more

Fitness Connection - Great dry sauna - Gyms Near Me - Arlington, Texas

As a business you should be 110% ashamed of how you conduct yourself customer service wise. It's not okay for this business to make it so tedious to no longer be a member. I have emailed, physically mailed, called and BEGGED for your business to stop charging my account and since doing that back in November 2018 I still have been charged 70 dollars. That is unacceptable and people need to know that what you're doing is theft! read more

Its 38 a month, may as well go to 24 hour fitnes LA fitness or planet fitness. This company has no problem tricking it members with fine print. Cancellation was even a problem when I was getting deployed they wanted me to send a letter with my orders. This place is out dated and a joke. If it was anywhere near the advertised price I'd put up with it. Also they wont accept credit cards because they don't want to deal with the someone like visa that would make life hard with refunds. read more

When I signed up, I thought $10 a month was such a steal! Don't let the "no contract" fool you. I have tried to cancel my membership several times and it has been the hardest thing to accomplish. They make you mail in a statement with your contact information in order to cancel your membership. I mailed in a letter twice and they somehow have not received both. I have triple checked the address, called the Arlington location to get more information and it turns into a dead end. They will have you contact the "billing" department which is just their 1800 number and the wait times are ridiculous. It is all very frustrating to deal with. I give this review 2 stars because they have recently renovated some parts of the gym. I still like a lot of the machine options and the open space however the studio room is still locked most the time and customer service has been a complete pain for the past two months. After a year, I decided to change gyms because I need more locations. read more

After being a member for over 6 years , went to cancel and was told same that i have to mail certified letter, there was a good chance i wasn't going to cancel but now i feel like i have to out of spite. I feel sorry for the few people I've referred to this gym when that time comes and will now on recommend Texas Family Fitness instead. From the comments theirs seems to be a lot of issues cancelling , id recommend following the instructions for "Federal law provides certain protections for recurring automatic payments"(google it) which is after you send letter canceling ( "revoking authorization." to debit your account) also send a "stop payment order" to your bank (can be done online at some banks or in person\letter) read more

I love that I have this gym for my health. This place is clean and there trainers know what there doing. Awesome place for anyone else.

I would highly suggest not visiting this fitness connection or waste your time signing up. The manager Sebastian and the staff member Tiana are rude and unprofessional and only care about bribing people into memberships. I have been a member of fitness connection a very long time and I've never experienced this at any gym I've ever been a member of. I was told when i came back to the gym to pick my son and nephew up i could cancel my nephew's membership. The manager told me that he left at 3pm but never told me if he wasn't there i couldn't cancel the membership. When i came back after driving 45 minutes back to the gym thinking I'd be able to cancel i was unable. I was greeted by another staff member who asked me to wait on the lady staff member named Tiana. I waited a short time and she was very rude and had a nasty attitude. If you love good gym experiences and professionalism this ISN'T THE GYM FOR YOU!!!!! read more

If only zero stars was an option Quinton, the general manager, has killed fitness connection as a brand for me. I've been a member for 5 years and used 3 other fitness connection facilities. I've always recommended the brand to my friends but this is the second time this week I've had a run in with him. Also he is clearly reviewing himself on yelp, all 5 and 1 star reviews? Sketchy. He was rude, arrogant and inflexible. The first run in we literally argued about whether or not I could use this facility due to the fact that I have the "cheap membership" (his term, he said it repeatedly. NEWS FLASH Quinton you work at a gym that advertises the cheapest rate in America) for 15 minutes before I finally said "so I can't work out here at all" and he responded with "we could change your home gym". Why was that not the first sentence that came out of his mouth when a manager was brought to the front to "resolve" an issue. Tonight I brought a friend to try out a bodyflow class. We came early anticipating there would be a sales pitch but forgot ID outside in car. He refused to talk without Id (it's 35 degrees and raining outside). We get ID come back and only have 4 minutes before class begins. I asked if he could hold her id while we did the class then sales pitch after. He refused. I asked why anyone would want to pay to have this type of customer service, like the whole idea was to get my friend to become a member right? He said he didn't care. So we left. I'm literally in shock after reading his other reviews on yelp that this guy still has a job. I Literally don't even feel safe going back into this building after some of his other reviews read more

They are thieves. You pay for your year at the beginning of your membership. You have to do a 30 day written notice and mail it in. After I mailed in my notice they charged me another $43 annual charge even though the man told me that my membership would be closed in 10 days! They received my request on the 26th of October, so why would they charge me for another year on November 19th when they see on my account that it will be closing what should have been on the 26th of November at the latest. But my fiancee's account was requested to be closed the same day as mine and hers is already closed. Which I assume is because they weren't going to be charging her a fee. I cancelled my membership because I moved further away, but I always said good things about them. I wont any more, and I wont refer anyone else to them. They will screw you over the moment they get a chance! read more

The gym is just okay. I received training services from here and was highly unsatisfied. I definitely do NOT recommend signing up for personal training here. I completely wasted my money. The one nice thing about this gym is less people come here so more equipment is usually available to use. read more

The low monthly fee including childcare brings in a ton of members to this location. If you are someone with a regular 9-5 who tries to stick to a weekday routine, expect the equipment to be unavailable before and after business hours. There is a 30 day written cancellation practice but if they don't process your cancellation, no actions will be taken unless you have certified proof. If you need anything regarding customer service, there is no email address available to HQ or locally and good luck getting anyone on the phone at either location. This organization clearly prioritizes maximizing margins over a quality fitness experience. With a low monthly fee and very poor internal communication structure, it's a total bait and trap. read more

Just called to cancel from this circus of a gym and was given the run around about policy and procedure for cancellation. They require 30 days notice by certified mail so that they can still bill you at minimum 1 more time. When I told her it would be much easier to just stop payment as Fitness Connection vendor on account she told me the last bill would go to collections. haha! $10.95? Seriously! This is a month to month membership and I owe no money. I paid 1st and last month plus initiation fee to start so my last month should be the $10.95 I pre-paid. Its not the money, its strictly principle. I already paid in full for membership at 24 hour fitness next door plus I have Lifetime Fitness membership. You get what you pay for. read more

Moved to Arlington from Austin 9 months ago which was when I moved my membership over from the tech ridge location to the Arlington location. Walked in to check in, guy named Brian S. was on his headphones wasn't even paying attention to me and tells me, "Hey man your membership is in Austin I can't let you in." I have been going to this gym for 9 months, I drive 30 mins, and tells me I can't go in because the membership wasn't transferred in their system and that I have to call Monday (Sat night). I tell him "You see I have an active memebership and that I'm here can you just give me a day pass so atleast my trips not wasted, I live 30 mins away." Say nope no can do, talk to member services. Night crew is trash, unprofessional was listening to his beats headphones and texting while working. Trash service and taking my business elsewhere, highly recommend you stay away too. read more
