I've tried barre at Exhale and Bar Method before, but Pure Barre was definitely my favorite. Most barre classes are upbeat and challenging, but Pure Barre definitely has the best set of moves and number of repetitions. No matter how fit you are, this class will beat you up. I really loved that the stretches were scattered in between the most challenging exercises for sufficient rest. None of the stretches felt rushed, which is what I've experienced at other studios. The lockers are easy, there's a key to the lock so you don't have to bring your own. The studio itself is well-kept and clean, and the class wasn't crowded at all at the Sunday 7am class. The instructors do a great job of giving you tips throughout the class to help you with your form. I love the music it's upbeat which is just the kind of music you need when your doing difficult moves and you sense your muscles getting fatigue. I'm going to try and come in the summer a few times. This is just what I need for the perfect summer body.

They immediately call you…read moreafterwards with a bunch of questions along with wanting your credit card number (even though it's a free class) the class was rougher than I thought and my body was trembling at certain points. I understand it's high intensity but there are other high intensity workouts I'd rather try. As soon as the free class was over, they had just enough employees on hand to come to each of us taking the free class ready to get our money. They already had a schedule ready for us, whether or not it actually worked around our lives. If you have the time, money and strength to do this, go for it. But I'd personally prefer a place that doesn't come for you like a shark. You could tell they were following a script as it sounds like what's written in their email communications. And when I said I wasn't ready to sign up and that I don't get paid until next week, I was met with a "well I'll trust you that you don't get paid until next week" I know it's Garden City, however that doesn't mean all the clientele walking in comes from Garden City where they can afford this. It was also a holiday where schools were closed and people were off of work. The surrounding businesses were packed with people, I thought this class would be full with regulars as well. It was only three of us which also raised a red flag because why wouldn't people be getting their workout in on their day off, unless people really weren't going there? My bar also conveniently had a ribbon tied around that a staff member cut off and made sure to tell us a that it was to celebrate someone's milestone in the previous class which to me seemed a bit staged as a way to lure us in.

I've taken class with Roseann, Paige, Molly and Michelle - all are great, encouraging and correct your form when needed. Most of the places I went were repetitious, boring and not productive but Pilates In Style has been an incredible find. Maryellen Greco, the owner, is dedicated and incredibly attentive to her clients positioning and individual needs. Every workout is different but I always have to readjust my rearview mirror when I get into the car after a session because I am sitting so much taller.
