This place is just awesome to workout in. Ive been in and out of this gym for awhile because of my…read morejob and home situation but this plave is top notch. It doesn't have hi-tech equipment, but it doesn't need it either. The plates are very well organized and kept in separate areas for the most part. They always seem to keep updating their equipment based on members suggestions and feedback. A big plus in my book is putting expectations on members. What i mean is: the staff already sanitizes the place but members are expected to re-rack weights, wipe down the equipment when they're done and use discretion when filming.

Strongly recommend joining this gym, I have been a member of other gyms and never gone but this one…read moreis different. Over the last few years this gym was consistently one of the cleanest public places (yes, during COVID), both the common areas and bathrooms with showers. Members are a wide range of folks and most are friendly while mainly focused on their workouts. Very strict rules about filming so it truly is a safe and healthy gym. Always room in their parking lot and convenient location just off of Central and King. The quality of personal training is world class. When you are willing do the work of healthy diet and proper recovery, this is whom can help you get from a local competitor to a world ranked athlete. Only bad part about joining this gym is moving and having to find another.

This is a great gym and I really loved my membership there, but the only reason I am not giving it…read more5 stars is because unless you are a Promedica Employee, it can be pretty expensive (for Toledo standards). I don't remember the specifics, but I think it's something like $70-80/mo with contractual requirements for 1 year, but it's half off for Promedica employees. It would be super affordable for the half off price, but as a student, I could never pay the full membership fee. They do have some discounted summer specials for students, which I took advantage of. The equipment at the gym is fancy schmancy. There are tons of different cardio machines, each with their own TV screens, and I got a kick out of the bikes that have different virtual scenarios. What I loved the most were the exercise classes. During the two months that I used the gym, I went to Pilates, Barre Basics, Tummy Tush & Thighs, Insanity, and HIT Boot camp. They were all pretty good, and HIT kicked my ass. Again, I LOVED this gym, and I just wish they had more flexible and affordable membership options for students.

I actually left this gym a few months ago. I was pretty sad to do it because I know the amenities…read moreare great and it has always been clean, which many gyms are not! Unfortunately, they made some changes and consolidated some spaces, etc. One of those changes was severely cutting their hours. I believe they close at 8:00 p.m. throughout the week now, and 2:00 p.m. on the weekends! These hours don't fit most people's lives, especially mine as a night shift nurse. I can handle rearranging some equipment and even closing the kids club, but if I can't get there because they close so doggone early it's not worth me paying for it. By the way, even though they cut out several hours per week of available gym time for clients, they did not cut out any of the very expensive monthly dues for members. This business is owned by ProMedica and if I didn't know any better I would think that they didn't care about encouraging people to live a healthy lifestyle, and that they only cared about money. And then I remembered that I am a ProMedica nurse and that is absolutely, 100%, the case! They made these changes to the hours from a financial standpoint, not thinking about their clientele or giving a crap if anyone actually visits the gym (so long as they pay their monthly dues).

Parker and Jason were great at explaining the membership options and gym fees. I feel like most of us are excited about joining a health club, and more often than not, we bypass the understanding that all gyms have yearly fees and cancellation fees; this is completely normal. In my opinion, the highlights of this gym include the space and variety of rooms available to ensure a great workout. They offer 2-3 different machines for the upper, mid, and lower body, which is great! For advanced fitness enthusiasts, this means you won't have to wait to complete your workout routine. For beginners, I highly recommend hiring one of their skilled personal trainers to start your fitness journey the right way. Any day is a good day to practice self-care. So far, one of my favorite machines is the standing hamstring curl; this machine is a gem, and I'm super happy they have it. The gym is clean, the bathrooms are neat, the weights are organized, and they offer spray bottles with towels for you to wipe down the machines after every use. I have yet to try the classes and provide feedback, or the smoothie bar, hydro massage, and sauna. Eventually, I will. This health club has a lot to offer for everyone, no matter what fitness level you are at. I'm glad I started going here, and I'm looking forward to making new friends.

St James Club Toledo has operated since the early 80s, providing families and individuals with the…read moreenvironment they need to work out, swim, and decompress. It is a family-owned and operated business, giving it a personal touch that you just can't get from other health clubs. You'll oftentimes be greeted by name, whether it be the front desk worker or maybe a friend you've made in the gym or the pool. There's always something to do here, whether it be to get on the treadmill and watch the news or to get into the pool and listen to the latest tunes. St. James has a fitness center, indoor and outdoor pool, locker rooms with saunas and steam rooms for men and women, and group exercise classes (in the classrooms and in the pool). The club has had new owners since Covid (but still remains in the Gomez family), and there have been plenty of improvements with the new ownership to give the club a fresh feel. These improvements range from updated cardio and lifting equipment, updated classrooms, and the inside and outside have been repainted with an updated deck at the entrance. The camera system has been updated inside, which helps make both members and the employees managing the environment feel safe. Front Desk workers are particularly helpful and will assist you as much as possible. Overall, St. James Club takes care of all of your health needs for fitness and aquatics, and it is a great place to go every day if you need somewhere to just feel better, whether it be because of the people or because of the workout. Membership cost is a monthly payment with no initiation fee, $45 pretax at the minimum for individuals, $65 for couples and $70 for families with one to three kids. Members that pursue longer contracts are able to get lower pricing for their membership (Ex. 3-year individual is $35/mo.). Once a contract is fulfilled, your membership goes to month-to-month, so you can stick around for as long as you'd like without worry. Members may sign up using a credit card/debit card or using their bank account information for automatic withdrawal. Annual membership options require a signature of contract, but may be broken in the event of a medical situation or relocation.
