Dangerously bad. Avoid this gym. Mismanaged. They lock the doors and you can't get in or out. Bizarre. Paranoid

The owner of Fitness 1440 (now Fusion Fitness) is a bully and a scam artist. If you like his gym and continue your membership, no problem. But once you decide you want to cancel your membership, WAY different story. I cancelled my membership nearly THREE years ago, in winter 2015 (before Fusion ever existed). I did a 'buy out,' what I was told was a one time fee to cancel my membership and be done with it. In early 2018, i notice that both Fusion Fitness and their debt collector had been taking money from my account...for MONTHS. Sometimes twice a month. I cancelled my debit card and didnt pursue it further as it was already giving me a bad enough headache. So now, in October 2018, I get a text message from the gym that says if I come back to Fusion Fitness they will forgive my 'delinquent' account...well the answer to that is a firm NO as I am currently 5 months pregnant with twins and can barely walk around the block. I HAVE no account...I cancelled my membership THREE years ago...and now they are trying to scam me for even more money. Unbelievable. When I went to talk to Bill about it he didn't even have any of my paper documents or financial records from when I was a member available to look at. Save yourself the grief of getting your money stolen and go somewhere else. I learned my lesson and have enjoyed the gym contract-free at Juniper. Will be reporting Bill to the BBB, City of Bend, and City of Bend Police if I have to. Disgusting that somebody like this has a business license. Just read any of the other one star reviews for this business...how many thousands of dollars have been stolen from people who just didn't want a membership anymore? read more

After being charged almost a year after I left. I kept calling in and trying to talk and was laughed at by the woman at the front desk, while they steal my money. They insist that I email the owner, who refuses to call you or talk to you...only happy to take your money. Unbelievable! I literally had to change my credit card because of these Scam artists. 1440 is a great gym. It has mostly everything you want and need. Its kept clean. The patrons are really nice as well. I've been a member for going on two years now and I recommend the gym to all my friends. Plus the trainer is super knowledgeable and has helped me a great deal! If interested in personal training, ask for Jeremy. Side note:People who have a hard time canceling just don't pay attention or listen. All you do is email them to cancel. Not that hard! read more

My boyfriend signed up for a trial membership and specifically asked if there was a commitment or an automatic renewal. The girl he signed up with reassured him multiple times that it was not automatic. Well, since May 2016 he has been receiving calls saying he owe payments. He has spoken with management and instead of acknowledging a miscommunication or lack of communication by the staff, they continue to harangue him. Clearly he is not the only person in this situation, as multiple other non-members seem to be in the same situation as him. He simply can't get Fitness 1440 to acknowledge he is no longer active and will not pay for a service he is not, and will not, use. For gym usage, it's just a a funky layout. For example, the machines and dumbbells are in different floors so you can't superset anything. Older place, lots of different equipment types, etc. We both tried all the gyms in Bend. This was our least favorite gym in Bend before all the membership issues, hence why he didn't convert to a membership. read more

Fitness 1440 has everything I need to get a great workout. I love fitness classes and they have a variety to choose from. The 24 hour schedule is also nice when I get off work late. I recommend Fitness 1440 to anyone that is looking for a gym! read more

I cancelled my membership and still received more then $70 in charges for the month....not f*cking cool, they also have been completely incompetent about resolving the issue. at $20 a month its ehhh, but if you factor in all the BS charges you might wanna consider becoming a member at a gym that has windows and doesn't feel like a dungeon. read more

Can't believe this gym is still even in Business. Poor customer service, dirty facility, and they rip you off. I froze my account in Febuary 2017 for child birth. I would call randomly to make sure my account was frozen, they would confirm it was or I would extend the freeze. During these months they have charged me twice and I have not step foot in that gym since Feb 2017.. So I politely asked for a credit or refund - They would not give me a credit or refund. So I simply asked for them to cancel my account, they then tell me I have to pay a $15.00 Fee to do so. I will be reporting you to the BBB. read more

This business gives false information about their membership fee expectations, and it is a HUGE headache to cancel even if you weren't given honest information as a customer. I would recommend against signing anything with them or giving your bank card info. There are many gym memberships in the area to choose from, do not go with this scam. read more

I'm so glad I decided to go with 1440 as my gym when I moved to Bend in January. Love the fact that I can go to the South location for hot tubs and saunas, the North location for racquetball, and then if I'm in Redmond as I was last night I was also able to get a quick workout in. Filthy gym, old equipment but I guess you get what you pay for. I was lied to when I signed up. I was house hunting and explained that my fiance and I might be moving but still wanted to sign up. We weren't sure where in CO we would be. I went on to ask if we could cancel. He said if we gave them 30 days it was no problem due to the auto-pay set up. I asked again to confirm and he repeated himself saying that I could transfer the memberships to Redmond or cancel. I had later called to confirm because my fiance warned me about signing a contract and they said the same thing. We're STILL paying even though we don't go... The Redmond gym is nicer but the locker rooms stink. Lesson learned... read more

Completed my one-year membership, gave my 30-day notice of cancelation and they're claiming they never received it. So, the month-to-month automatic renewal continued. I called my bank to stop payment and now I've received a letter from fitness 1440's debt collector saying I owe $74.90. What kind of gym requires you to mail in a written cancelation notice anyway? They count on people to be too lazy to write a letter and mail it off so they can keep charging you every month. And if they "never received it," you're screwed. These people disgust me. read more

The owner was super nice, he took my girlfriend and I on a detailed tour. Then he let us try out the gym for free! They have so much to choose from: classes, racquet ball, working out, sauna, boot camp, and much more. I visited anytime fitness, snap, and elite non of them came close to the size and diversity of Fitness 1440. read more

I went to this gym for about a year and a half with my wife. I actually really liked this gym, and the only reason we had to leave is that when they switched to being a 24-hour facility, they had to close their child care program. The building isn't pretty and I heard some people complain about it, but I go to a gym to work out not to look at pretty things. The facility is kept very clean. What matters to me is that the equipment is safe and in excellent condition, nicely upholstered, nice, new weights, etc. They have a full range of free weight equipment and benches, hammer strength, cable rack and machines and cardio equipment. They also have a few racquetball courts and a full size basketball court. When we had to leave the gym to find a new gym that offered child care, I filed my letter of cancellation and never thought about it again. Months later I realized that I was still being billed. I went in to the gym and informed them of the situation, and the owner contacted me, apologized for the error and refunded me immediately. In addition, he offered me and my wife a free 6-month membership and said that we could also give it to friends or family. I was very impressed by how this was handled and because of that I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Started a membership at what was Fusion fitness and decided to finally try 1440 at their north location. I prefer the south location, they are much more friendly and I get a greeting before and after every workout. The south location also has a women's only area for some privacy. Went into the north location and no one said a word to me just starred a little. They did have good equipment but I just felt to uncomfortable in there. The south location also has a hot tub which is very awesome! read more

Horrible air quality in this facility makes me wonder how this place passed health codes? I was using the rower several evenings at night and the thermostat read 82F. I asked about it and was told it was residual from hot yoga. This is not how a fitness center should be. I've donated a lot of money in a membership contract that they would not cancel despite several requests to do so. So I suppose I've paid my dues and am allowed to write this review honestly. The layout is the gym is awkward and not planned out. The paint on the walls is enough to make your eyes vomit. Condescending notes written by staff asking members to leave windows closed fail to recognize the actual problem: breathing in hot, humid, sweat-drenched air while working hard is beyond unhealthy. read more

The whole staff goes above and beyond. Especially Denali who is as friendly as can be, she always greets you with a smile, asks how your day is going, (wants to meet your dog) etc... She's as sweet as she is beautiful. read more

If I could give this place a minus score I would. I live out of town and upon the end of my time in Bend I terminated my membership. When I joined I explained my situation to the owner and he said it would be no problem to end my membership at any time as long as I joined for at least 3 months (which I stayed for nearly a year and fulfilled my commitment). The owner is trying to charge me for 45 days worth of membership from the termination date and will not work with me nor prorate this to cover the 30 day required notice (even though he said he would work around this as I stated above). I tried to come in and work this out with him and he was not will to work with me even after he had promised he would. All he could keep saying is "I'm sorry, its not my fault and I can't do anything about it." He is a part owner and he can, he just doesn't want to. He has not held up to his word and now I just got notified that he turned me into collections over a few disputed dollars. I paid the collections, but I am not happy at about being treated like this. Another thing is that the place is still kind of a dump, and dirty. Only reason I stayed with them is that I didn't want to hassle with changing gyms. They have been putting money into remodeling but I question where they are putting the money sometimes. Such as painting fake bricks on some walls instead of fixing the hot tub in the locker room. Which has never worked the entire time I have been there. The website that they have has pictures on the home page and NONE of them are from this gym. False representation! Not cool! I would not join this place!! Plenty of other GOOD choices in Bend. read more

The manger don't know how to handle conflict, they need to go do some consumer service training. They are very inappropriate. This gym with not let you cancel, they keep charging your account and lie to you when they say they have canceled your account and have sent a refund through. Terrible gym. Go to a different one at all costs if you are in bend. read more

I wrote a review about how dissapointed I was but I was told the wrong name of the guy that was not friendly or accomidating and NOT the manager. Steve is the manager he is very friendly and nice and tried to help me out. The guy that I didn't care for and is rude is Anthony. I still had to quit the gym due to no children allowed and had a few billing issues I liked the gym and the manager Steve. read more

Love Fitness 1440 in Bend! There's nothing like having access to your gym literally ANYTIME you want it! All the classes are fun, the instructors are helpful and nice, and the entire staff is friendly. I'd recommend this gym to anyone in the area. read more

Love the cardio machines being in a separate room- don't feel like I'm being watched by the iron pumpers. Friendly and helpful staff! Great variety and number of machines! PLENTY OF PARKING! Bonus- the gym manager is not too bad to look at. read more

I also have used 1440 formally fusion fitness and the cleanliness of the gym is horrific. The few times I ran into one of the owners he was rude and overbearing always making me uncomfortable. I would not recommend 1440 south to anyone! read more

my wife and I began a membership and the Bend, Oregon location at the end of Septembre. The staff was nice enough to allow us to sign up only a few months due to our planned move back to Salem, Oregon. Everything was great at the facility and we enjoyed our time there. Unfortunately, after emailing to confirm our cancelation in December and being assured through email as well as several phone calls with staff members, we were still charged for membership services. Not only did this completely drain what little money we had left in our account after paying to move, new deposits for rental agreements, and paying final bills, it overdrafted our account. It took us over a week to get a manager to take care of this issue and refund our money, which then took another 5 days to go back in to our account. The $35 overdraft fee was placed into the responsibility of our bank to overturn, NOT the manager who should have initially been happy to reimburse us. Eventually, two weeks later after having hardly enough money for fuel to get to work, the bank decided to reverse half of the overdraft, and now we are waiting on Fitness 1440 to reimburse the other half. Piss poor customer service. read more
