Kaytlyn Barber and her illegal power trip.

Kaytlyn Barber is pure evil. I never imagined a gym could become a battlefield. My service dog, is my anchor--trained and federally licensed ADA., his vest screaming "Service Animal." Papers always ready in my pocket. That crisp morning in PF, I walked in, my routine escape. Signed in, headed for the weights. Then I met her: Kaytlyn Barber, the front desk tyrant. Logan was just going along with her because he was new. Her eyes were like daggers, she zeroed in on us. Get out!" she shrieked, voice echoing. I stayed calm. "He's a service dog. I have certification--let me show you." But she was a whirlwind of over-vigilance, ranting about rules, chaos. Radioed the boss, face twisted in evil triumph, like some Hitler wannabe enforcing her twisted order. They never checked my papers. Management blindly backed her.

Staff is always courteous and friendly. Wish it wasn't always so packed but that isn't their fault.

Upset about hidden fees... We had already had 15 visits each for the month and randomly got stopped because you can apparently only have "ten" visits before being charged a $5 fee. We have been traveling the country a month at a time visiting planet fitnesses in every city for the past year and have never run into this experience. We only had two days left in the month and they still wouldn't let us in without paying. This is a ridiculous fee especially for already paying premium. If we had been charged this every visit over ten visits we'd be paying just as much if not more than the monthly membership WE ARE ALREADY PAYING.

Okay, but seems to be suffering from a common ailment I have seen at gyms over and over again through the years, and that is... Over selling! It gets to where there are too many people arriving, checking in, dressing or undressing, and working out ... at the same time! We are Black Card members, which means we have hydro massage, light enhanced vibration massage, and massage chair for our use. This is not the elegant pass one would imagine, when you are shoved aside from the counter by over sixty year old women with too much time on their hands, attempting to block out a massage time, or demand an appointment with a trainer. All in all, it becomes depressing; after staying just a bit we had to leave. The gym should be an uplifting place to go, a place that inspires one to move and play, stretch physical limits, test abilities... But when it becomes about navigating through a maze of machines and pushy retirees, it's an experience we would rather not have. We will likely be canceling our membership soon. Note: We joined the Medford, Oregon club. This club in Bend is overrun by hyper aggressive female senior citizens.

Asst Manager harassing Disabled people + threatening them
CJ R.

UPDATE: Since writing the below review, the first time back in the gym while Scott was working, the Asst Manager came out right after she came in to harass me about my disability outside. Caught on car camera, she walked in, talked to Scott who pointed to me and directly walked out. Filed complaint against this Franchise with the ADA and Oregon Attorney Generals Office. Will also be seeking damages for the harassment caught on video.

Best gym in the area! Visited here from out of town on a Sunday morning with my bf and his dad. A guest pass is $20.00. I'm glad I have a membership. The gym was not crowded and there was plenty of parking in the huge lot. The gym was very modern with a HUGE selection of cardio equipment (numerous ellipticals, treadmills, steppers, bikes, rowers, seated bike/ elliptical, and even an ergo trainer). The gym was well organized with a 30 min workout area, abs & legs area, free weights area (no bench press), cardio area, black card area, etc. The gym was clean as there were wipes and sprays available and everyone seemed to be cleaning up after themselves. The equipment was new so obviously in good condition. I did notice that a few of the elliptical needed their feet adjusted as they were wobbly. The locker rooms were very nice and modern. Highlights include the locks you set yourself (so no need to bring a lock just be sure to remember your locker number and the combination) and private dressing areas. The staff was friendly. The vibe was relaxed and friendly. It was relatively quiet and seemed to live up to it's "no judgement" promise. No one set off the Lunk Alarm during our visit. For a gym in Bend, this one rates a 4.6, which rounds up to a 5. *This is not a "heavy lifter" gym.

Just People sitting on machines on their phones for ridiculous amounts of time. Not working out at all. Impossible to get a real workout.

This gym is basically a daycare center mixed with an old people's home. They are always having events and closing the pools. They close early without notice and the hours here are horrible. Throughout the day, it's pretty slow in general. As 6 or so approaches, you'll find yourself among the egotistic meat heads who will kick you off equipment or hog multiple pieces of equipment though they are using something else. You also get rush #1 of the high school kids. I had to tell one of them to calm down just last week because of the way he came at me to get his cable machine back. He was nowhere near the machine. When 8 rolls around, you have the worst crowd of the day. You have the second rush of high schoolers, who just let their friends in at will. There's almost no equipment available to use. There's a bunch of them just standing around talking. You can feel the vibe of their toxic egos. I mean, just imagine a gym in a high school and that's what you'll get around this time. Overall, I've learned I cannot go after work if I get off at 7:30PM. Otherwise, it's a decent place to go.

Highly Recommend - A Real Game-Changer for This Former CrossFit Gym Owner!…read more As someone who owned and operated a CrossFit gym for years, I've seen (and programmed) a lot of workouts. I've spent years in the "trenches" of high-intensity functional training, and I have a very high bar for what makes a fitness program effective. I know what makes a great fitness experience, and I have to say: Orangetheory Fitness in Bend has blown me away. I've been nothing short of impressed since joining, and it's quickly become my go-to spot (even despite also owning a Tonal, Peloton Bike and Peloton Tread at home!). Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just starting out, this studio delivers a top-tier experience. The PROGRAMMING is smart, science-backed, and incredibly effective - a perfect blend of cardio and strength that keeps things fresh and challenging every single class. It's definitely more cardio-focused than CrossFit, but also with a MUCH lower risk of injury! Also, the fact that I can get my workout in at 6:00 a.m. is great - and having the flexibility to attend a class even earlier than that, or during one of the many classes later in the day is a real bonus, too. But what really stands out is the COACHING. The coaches here are outstanding: energetic, knowledgeable, and somehow able to manage three rotating groups ("3G") seamlessly while motivating everyone, cracking jokes to keep it fun, and jumping in with spot-on form corrections. It's masterful - I've rarely seen that level of attention in a group setting, and can't tell you how hard it is to manage all that effectively. But they most certainly do just that. Special shout out to Coach Stephanie and Coach Sebastian - two of my favorites!!! The STUDIO itself is equally impressive. The EQUIPMENT is in fantastic condition (treadmills, rowers, weights, and even stationary bikes and a stair stepper for those who may be dealing with injury or disability - everything feels new and well-maintained), and the entire place is impeccably clean, from the workout floor to the spotless showers, lockers, and bathrooms. I particularly appreciate that sanitary wipes are set out at each station prior to class, folks are reminded to wipe their equipment down after use, and the room is cleaned by staff between classes in the event someone missed something. The TECHNOLOGY is another major standout: real-time heart rate feedback on the screens keeps you in the zone, and the app tracks your metrics over time so you can see real progress. That layer of accountability and motivation is hard to beat, and unlike anything I've seen elsewhere. Additionally, booking classes is a breeze through the app, and I've even dropped into other Orangetheory studios across Oregon - they're all consistently impressive. On top of all that, the COMMUNITY is incredibly welcoming. Both the coaches and members are friendly and supportive, making it easy to feel like part of the group right away. If you're looking to get leaner, build serious cardio endurance, boost overall fitness, and actually enjoy your workouts, this is hands-down the best choice in Bend. It's fun, effective, and addictive in the best way. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Went in to talk to them and got all kinds of excuses as to details on when the payment fell in the month so they could charge another 30 days (that is 60+ days of gouging).
