I started working out here three weeks ago, and for me, 9 round, led by Slava, is far superior,…read moremore efficient than the 10 plus years I spent at Lifetime and LA fit. Here's why: 1. Work out varies every day at each 9 round station. 2. Incorporates the whole body, especially the core. Know I used to do arms sessions, fewer legs than I should, and not nearly enough abs/core. 3. Slava and the other trainers are always teaching me new things. 4. Trainers keep you and others motivated. 5. It's social and fun, which keeps me going 4-5 days a week. 6. Heart rate monitoring keeps you pushing hard or backing off to stay in the right zone. Plus I get an email showing me my workout results every day. 7. Slava, the owner is everything I could want in a trainer and gym operator. You owe it to yourself to try this place out. First workout is free. I was so impressed and excited that I signed up for a year right after that work out!!

What a cool place to workout!! I hate working out, but this is quick, great cardio and great for…read moretoning muscle. It's a go at your own pace kinda place. There is always a trainer showing you how to do the different workouts at each station. The workouts change daily, so you're constantly changing up your routine. The owner runs this place fantastically! He's a great trainer and will push you if you want to be pushed. It's not too expensive either. I highly recommend this place!

I did a few months but after realizing my schedule never aligned with their classes I decided to…read morecancel my membership. I went in person because that's the only way they do it. They said I had a month to continue using my membership until that month had ran its course so I showed up to a few more classes and one of the last classes I attended, I ended up talking to this woman who apparently was the owner (I didn't know that at the time.) mentioned instead of canceling my membership that we put it on hold. She sent me a link to my phone, but I never really filled it out because I knew I wanted to cancel my membership and I Just didn't wanna be rude in person. I ended up getting charged for another full month so I called them and asked them what was going on since I had canceled my membership and they told me the last payment I paid was it. Then they tried gaslighting me saying that I still have one more payment to make and then my membership is canceled I told them that last time I was on the phone they said I wouldn't have to make any more payments. They said there was miscommunication, but I really think that because I'm a young woman they were trying to take advantage of me. I mentioned the situation to my dad and he felt it wasn't right and decided to show up to the establishment himself and once he did, they got back to us an hour later saying that we were right. But this was after I was on the phone with them back-and-forth and having them trying to say that I still owe the money, blah blah blah, and that because me and her talked about putting my account on hold they didn't actually cancel my membership, which doesn't make any sense. I never signed anything saying I wanted to put my account on hold once it was canceled. I received confirmation which tells me the first time I canceled my membership. They didn't actually cancel it, even though everything was in person and signed by both me and another team member. The staff was nice and the classes were OK but the management in this establishment is ridiculous and definitely fraudulent. I'm disgusted by the way Kavitha is running this business. Memberships are over $100 a month so that's a lot of money to just take out of somebody's account when they already had it in place that they were canceling. If you wanna try title, don't go to this location.

I decided to cancel my membership, and they make it EXTREMELY HARD to cancel. For months I was not taking any classes but still paying because they make you cancel in person and when I was able to come in, apparently the person who is able to cancel my membership could not come in. After many phone calls and trying to work out a time to come in, our schedules are not lining up and they refuse to cancel by phone. I have closed my payment method and now they are threatening to have dept collectors come after me. It has been 9 MONTHS since I have taken a class and they will not cancel my membership. I would never recommend this gym to anyone

Fit Theorem in Livonia is a great kickboxing studio. They were formally called/owned by "I Love…read moreKickboxing". They have a nice introductory offer where you get three classes and a free pair of boxing gloves for $30. They currently have 4 options for colors of gloves: royal blue, neon yellow, green, and orange. I chose the yellow because they glow in the black lights at my other glow boxing class. The gloves are left over from when they used to be "I Love Kickboxing" and you can kind of tell who's new by the color of their gloves. They used to have pink and purple gloves too. They like you to arrive about 15 minutes early to your class. They do temperature checks at the door which is nice. They have cubby holes to put your stuff. There's a front lobby area and the kickboxing area is large and spacious. The bags are standing instead of hanging so you can really give them a good kick lol, and they're on a mat which is comfortable and great on your joints and feet. When you first arrive, you take your shoes off to be on the mat. When you sign up for classes, you do it through the Fit Theorem app. Sundays and Mondays they offer a Foundations Kickboxing class which I would highly suggest starting with first. They teach you all of the punches and the combos are less complicated while you're still learning and working on form. Fridays they have their Fri-yay class which is super fun and hyped up. People are dancing between circuits. The combos are pretty advanced though and get more complicated so this is a good class to work up to. I actually went to this as my first class, not knowing anything about boxing lol. Garvis, one of the instructors came over and helped me and basically gave me a one-on-one session. He was super helpful and I feel like I learned a lot about the punches and stance and getting the form and posture right. Brittany teaches the Fri-Yay class and she is so sweet, encouraging, and high energy. It was a lot of fun! All of the instructors are very nice, helpful, and encouraging. I like how they break down the actual punches and kicks here and they'll walk around and give you pointers on how to improve. I did a foundations class and it was really great too. The classes are done in intervals/circuits with a few minutes doing punch combos on the bag and then a few minutes off the bag, on the mat doing some cardio. The air conditioning is always icy cold inside which I love because you can really get hot/sweaty during the workout. The music is always hype/fun and really helps you get into it. The instructors have a microphone on so you can hear them well. Fit Theorem also offers yoga and kettle-ball/strength training classes. They offer challenges sometimes and it's about $399 for unlimited classes for 42 days and includes weight-loss/dietary coaching too. If you lose 25 lbs or 6 % of your body weight, they'll refund you the money you paid for the challenge. Drop-in classes are $20 a class. Five classes is $97 and 10 classes are around $179. I really like Fit Theorem for kickboxing. They're so great at breaking down and teaching you the punches, kicks, combos, and the instructors are really good: really passionate about what they do and are so helpful, and encouraging. Class attendees are all different skill levels, weights, and ages. Some people are pros who have been doing this for years and some people are just starting out with their first kickboxing class. They're located in a strip mall with a grocery store and Jimmy John's and there's always lots of parking spots available.

There are so many reasons why I would recommend THEOREM and feel blessed that our paths crossed…read more Fit Theorem is no only a place where I go to stay fit and workout. It's a place where I get support and encouragement. It's a place that allows me to build the best version on myself physically and mentally. The accountability is very important when trying to reach any goal and with the Theorem not only do I have coaches that keep me accountable I have a whole fitfam. Every day that I take class I feel accomplished and that much stronger. The results are real and here our warmup is most people's workout.

As someone who lives in the Hudson Valley (studying at Stony Brook University), I love the studio…read moreso much all because of the super friendly staff and the many great workouts they offer! I also appreciate that the studio continues to offer virtual classes even as the covid pandemic continues to subside. Stony Brook University's Recreation Center has all the equipment I need for each class I join. For guys like me, being able to workout with these amazing instructors on zoom is a blessing!

This place is terrific! I only removed one star bc I wish the pricing for a class package or…read moremonthly membership was more affordable. That said, the facility is phenomenal. It is spotless and big. Lots of room for the various classes offered, and there are plenty! Staff are consistently friendly and they really create a welcoming atmosphere for people of all activity levels and ages. The equipment is updated as needed (weights are not old, mats are new and clean etc) and the instructors are awesome! A number of teachers have been there for many years and I believe that speaks to the business practices. I have been going here on and off (due to costs) for the last 5 years or so, and it really is a great place. I do recommend Mid American Fitness and while I know running a business is complicated, hopefully there's a way to make prices a bit more accessible for less affluent folks.
