Jabs Gym offers a variety of classes and the trainers seem to be very knowledgeable. I popped in for a Saturday morning booty bootcamp....HELLO gluts. Let's just say it was difficult to walk for a few days. hahaa I would most certainly recommend this gym. It's time to get our covid, quarantined bodies into gear, Ladies. The entrance is on the side of the building...it can be a little tricky to find.

They have added a water fountain that has a bottle option, which is super handy, and I believe the other bathrooms are finished now. Classes are getting really full and most are already booked online - they always reserve a few spots for "walk-ins" but I hope they add a wait list soon!! They have also added a new teacher who does 3 more classes at night and I also hope they will add another night class on Thursday night. Some teachers are better for newbies than others - the Sunday morning class I have found to be good for beginners because the daylight allows you to see more and the teacher did explain some of the punches in the last class. I am familiar with these movements from years of kickboxing so am comfortable here; If one really was concerned, I'm sure asking or telling the teacher before hand wouldn't be a hassle. The music keep it popping, interesting and the teachers keep it motivating and sweating! It's a "jump in and do everything you can" kinda place - and I am considering buying a monthly plan because of the great workouts I've had here.

I love that a workout can be modified for specific needs. I pick the class times that work for me. My trainer Jen is absolutely amazing! It took about 6 months but I found it became an important daily part of my life. In January of 2018 I followed my Chief to Kensington Valley Crossfit. Everything at KV is top notch from the equipment and facility to the coaching. But what I like most about the gym is the members are not $$$$ signs. It's not uncommon to hear "tell your friend just to come in", "just check someone in for class" or "what can we work out to get you to keep coming". My own personal gains aside, it is refreshing to see an atmosphere that focuses more on individual growth than the monetary growth of the business. In the end, I think the investment in the individual will provide Kensington Valley CrossFit with far a greater return than imagined. All that being said, when you make your New Years resolution this year, give KV a try. You'll be glad you did!

I think all these good reviews are written by the staff. Reality is very different! When you go on…read moreline you see a beautiful gym, they have been marketing a lot lately with AI, enhancing features to the trainers, making the facility seem clean and polished. The pictures show the reality (there was a previous picture of a big rusted hole in a women's locker, that was reported 9 months ago and is still there!) Buckets and towels all over the place when it rains, holes in the drywall above the walking track, stained ceilings, etc. They say the pool is heated, it's always really cold (Someone posted that on face book and they took down that comment immediately, they do that with negative comments). They also say that the place is cleaned every evening, you might want to get a refund and find a new cleaner! The owners are very rude and the manager can be rude at times also. The gym members are typically older and have been going there for years, yet they are putting on new classes aimed at the younger crowd! And don't get me started on the smell, it hits you as soon as you walk in the door, smells like someone or something died in there and it also smells of mold. And no air conditioning. Very surprised the city has not shut this place down! So, if you are looking for a slightly higher prices gym, that is dirty, run down and smelly with no air conditioning, this is the place to do. Don't believe me, just go and tour the place.

They claim it's no problem to cancel or freeze your account at anytime. I spoke with jay back in august and he assured me I'd receive a refund, yet I never received a refund. My account was never canceled because I "didn't fill out a form"they claim they keep sending that I'm not receiving. I've called countless times at all hours of the day never to reach the receptionist. Finally.. after a week of coordinating with them through Facebook messenger and almost a thousand wasted dollars later, my account was canceled. I don't recommend this place, it's a cash grab at best. ***Edit 1 hour later*** URSA Academy - Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu Ann Arbor (Owner) 53 minutes ago Charles, if we have an email from you with your cancellation, we'll refund any charge that took place after that. We have had an issue with our website not forwarding our emails. If you can forward those emails to this email address: ursareception@gmail.com , we'll get it taken care of for you. We've been in business far too long to be a "cash grab." I assure you, we simply haven't received anything from you. I'll personally be watching the email for your response. Thank you. ************** My response is : As stated, I never received a form from you until reaching out via Facebook (a week ago) and having it sent to my girlfriend's email address. So you HAVE in fact received a cancellation form, because I was just notified ON FACEBOOK (of all places) that they have received my cancellation and have canceled my account (days after sending it). They have also stated over Facebook messenger that you don't offer refunds, even though Jay gave me his word in august that I would receive one, but now you're telling me you do offer one. So it seems like I'm being lied to, and my situation is being swept under the rug. Bottom line - Jay was well aware of the situation in august (he was assigned to me after all) and instead of helping you just milk my account until I make a big deal about it.
