This was pre Covid I haven't been back yet but looking forward to starting up again. The only complaint would be the noisy students in some classes.Entering the yoga room noisily having very loud conversations while some of us were trying to get in the yoga mood . Keep it outside people.

I…read morestarted coming here as a chance to relax after work a few times a week, I attended eight classes all together mainly on Monday's and Friday's for the basic yoga from 6-7pm during the entry unlimited monthly package. I REALLY wanted to like this studio but there were just too many little annoyances that I just couldn't overlook with a price tag of $97/mo. Cons: 1. People walk into the yoga room talking and caring on with their friends until class starts. I got to class early, like the website requests, to set up and relax before the start of class but found it impossible with people talking and dropping their mats on the ground in compleat disregard of other people around. 2. The Sun Room where they hold a separate class at the same time as the basic yoga class on Monday's is connected to the main yoga room which means all people attending that class have to walk through the main room. The rooms are not soundproof at all which means you can hear everything going on in the other class. 3. The entire studio is not soundproof which not only means you can hear the other class but also the traffic outside and people sitting in the waiting room while you are trying to practice. 4. The studio is FREEZING! Holly K. mentioned this in her review and I have to agree. My feet are ice cubes the entire class which doesn't make for a relaxing environment. 5. The building is nothing special and neither is the studio. It consists of a fabricated wood floor, drop ceiling, speakers, and fake candles. Some people might like the bare minimum feel but for $97/mo I expect a little bit more. 6. I understand most people don't get off work until 5pm but it would be nice if they offered a class at 5pm for people who go into the office earlier and therefore leave earlier. I find myself sitting in the parking lot waiting for class to start. Although, most yoga studios have the same schedule. Pros: 1. The studio is conveniently located off 275. 2. The classes are small. 3. Gary is an amazing teacher! He is funny, knowledgeable, great at relaxing his students, and melting away the day's worries. 4. You can cancel (not renew) your membership at any time without penalty, I think? Overall, I really did enjoy my time here doing yoga. The people that work here are great and hardworking and I honestly hope they continue to generate business. Just wasn't the place for me.

Fast forward a few weeks later and I took advantage of the new student special for $69. It included unlimited yoga and salt options. I've enjoyed Yin so far and will try the salt bed soon. I did notice my airways opened after the first class. There was also tea and coco waiting outside the room. Looking forward to trying more classes and I plan to join after the month is over. Definitely well worth the price of what we paid for a group get together for the Canton Women's group. I will definitely be back soon.

I have been coming to Plymouth Yoga Room for around three years. I started going for the physical…read morework out, and I keep going because the instructors and members challenge me in other ways, too. Though I don't talk to many people while there, I feel welcome and part of the community. I appreciate the variety in approaches of the instructors, and I appreciate seeing the wide range of people who attend classes. The facility is very clean and inviting. Inside the studios, the wood floors make the light soft and warm. The heat panels make entering the studios feel like an escape - especially in winter. With regard to the instruction, I feel most challenged in classes led by Polly and Mary. Polly steadily directs corrections and modifications that lead to better posture for safe and healthy workouts. Though I attend a fair amount of classes and maybe shouldn't need those reminders, I appreciate and miss them with most of the other instructors. Polly also teaches a lot of classes (in Northville, too), so if consistency of instruction is important, you'll have lots of options. Mary's voice makes me think she's going to go easy, yet I always come out of her classes thankful for how great of a workout I've gotten. Something about her style and approach to flow sends my mind the message that what she's asking isn't hard, and then moments later my thighs are burning or my abs are crying. I have also attended ashtanga and yin classes at Plymouth Yoga Room. I like the collective, habitual practice of ashtanga and the slower-paced, super stretching of yin. Kendall, at the front desk, is an angel. She seems to know everyone's name, and she sees people. The amount of energy and skill required to do so - given the number and variety of people that come through - is admirable. From time-to-time, classes are too full for me. Being a member of the studio is a significant investment. I want the owners to make money, and I want the instructors and staff to be well-paid. I don't want to run into someone else's body during class. Yes, I understand that those ideas can come into conflict, so when it bothers me, I work hard to let it go. If PYR were a lesser service in any other regard, I would not. Outside of the regularly scheduled classes, PYR sometimes offers workshops that dig into postures (standing, sitting, etc), types of yoga (yin), or meditation. I have enjoyed all of the ones I've attended and find the additional cost reasonable for the level of instruction. I would love more frequent, deeper meditation sessions. Plymouth Yoga Room is probably not for everyone. It provides a high level of fitness and instruction for those it serves.

Staff and other practitioners are all friendly. It feels like true, genuine yoga. I have seen yoga change a lot with the increased popularity of it and certain retailers coming on the scene. Bodhi Yoga is not a competitive environment, it's soft and welcoming the way yoga is supposed to be! Thank you Bodhi Yoga for being true to yoga!! I have really loved the classes I have taken there! The class was perfect, just challenging enough and fun. I wasn't sure about the space--it's in a church--but there's a good, open feel as soon as you walk in and the space where the class is held is spacious. But, I had purchased a 5 pack of classes and the last class expires tomorrow, so I had to use it. The schedule at this location had the class and time that I wanted, so since it's Easter Sunday, I decided to trek out here and get my Yoga on. The studio's in a strip mall just like their Troy location, at the corner of 12 mile and Orchard Lake Road. The lobby area's well taken care of full of product for sale. Yoga mats, towels, and a few sweatshirts are there for purchase. The lobby usually opens 30 minutes prior to class starting so everyone can get checked in and set up in class with their mats. If you don't have a mat, they will rent you one for a few dollars. They also have towels as well, but I think they charge for those too. I've forgotten my mat at home before and had to rent one, just make sure you return it to the counter. The bathrooms here are fabulous, and there's tons of space and cubbies for putting your items away while you're doing yoga. The showers are great just be prepared to dress in front of other people. They also have cubbies up front, which are the ones I use when placing my shoes and keys away before class. Remember kids, no cell phones are allowed in the yoga studio during class. Also, no shoes past the lobby area! As for pricing, they are not cheap but not the most expensive I've seen either. They have a variety of different packages available for purchase. You can purchase classes in a bundle (10 classes, 5 classes, etc.) or you can get a monthly membership. They also usually have new student discounts so check online and with the staff. They also have a drop in fee if you just want to do one class to check it out or get a yoga class in for fun. *most* of the instructors here are good. Over the years I've had a few that were NOT good, unfriendly or just unhelpful. But, most are good at leading class and get to know you by name. Make sure to bring water, a mat, a towel and get ready to do some Yoga!
