I don't get training, or attend any classes here, so my opinion of this gym is based solely on my personal work out basis. I have been going to Fit Gym 3-4 times a week for the last few weeks. Fit gym is split into two levels, with the lower level featuring old school weight lifting equipment (emphasis on old): squat bars, bench press, racks of dumbbells so heavy they're never actually moved, etc. This is where the real body builders go, where every dumbbell is a set of small barbell weights afixed by loose bolts, and you have to eyeball your dumbbell weights since the markings have long worn off, and nothing is predictably reracked. Electrolyte mixes are for sale at the desk. Since I am no body builder, I've transitioned to sticking to the second level. Upstairs, there are a few more small dumbbell racks featuring 50lbs and under weights, still reracked randomly, but these racks feature the weights for those of us with less built biceps formed from single pieces of metal, with legible imprinted numbers on the sides. The second floor is also where you would find all the more 'modern' weight lifting machines, as well as all the cardio equipment. The latter bit being wisely placed since the fans above are needed to fight the buildings trappings of humidity. Service throughout the gym can be a bit lackluster. When I was still visiting the downstairs, the water fountain was out of service for a week's worth of visits. There was another week where the middle of the room paper towel dispenser upstairs was empty every time I came in. If there are cleaning solution bottles (in my experience there was often one present downstairs, but never with solution in it), the spray nozzles are just as likely non-functional. And there have been some treadmills that have been non functional throughout my tenure that I'm genuinely curious if will ever be fixed. Fit Gym does have well rounded enough equipment to provide a full workout, but it's almost aggressively 'no frills.'

There is a spin room which is nice. However, half the bikes are constantly broken and never fixed

We have been going to Fit Gym for the past two years. A gym is a gym for the most part. You go in, you work out, you leave. Usually I have no problems with my experience, and the prices are low. The classes are great and the personal trainers are definitely a major selling point for them. However, the management and staff are pretty terrible. Whenever there is a problem that we complain about, their solution is to post a passive-aggressive note and call the problem "solved." There are people taking up all the lockers because they don't take them off before they leave? Post a note. People are putting too much weight on the bars and bending them? Post a note. People aren't returning the weights after they take them to another room? You got it. Post a note. At any moment, count on multiple machines being broken, and the bathroom not having soap or toilet paper. The gym rarely gets cleaned and half the machines are broken or not fully functional. Don't get me wrong. I love this gym and want to see it do better. I'm not going anywhere else any time soon, but there are just things and policies that need to be changed.

Nice no frills gym. Good atmosphere. A couple of machines were questionable but overall I got an intense workout in.

Saturdays are a hybrid (cardio and strength) and are 1 hour so pace yourself! If you're looking for a gym where you will see results and feel stronger and healthier, I highly recommend. The unlimited class membership is pricey, but the best value. It's $180 per month for unlimited classes, but the prices can fluctuate if they have promos. The strength day workouts typically include dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, and body weight. A lot of the common exercises are burpees, kettlebell swings, lunges, deadlifts, squats, jump squats, push-ups, kettlebell cleans, and mountain climbers. Most members are between 20-35 years old, but they welcome all ages.

Since it is smaller, the stations don't seem to be as divided so visually it isn't the best workout at an F45 gym I have had. I started with the $7 for 7 day trial and my gosh they were SO SALESY...I got the ick. I didn't have the energy in me to keep coming back to after I went 2x (my goal was 4), I didn't come back. After every class they ask you to chat in their office and try to sell you on signing up for a membership. There should be a rule that you at least come to 3 classes before they start grilling you like this. I really do love an F45 workout and I have been going to a different F45 gym. The workouts are the same globally and I feel it's a very good workout. At this gym, and others, I got a good workout in thanks to the coaches who are always there to help you with your form and they push you to go harder. This is a great way to get a personal training session in without the cost of a trainer. This is great for those who are too scared to go to the weights section of the gym...I have built a lot of confidence thanks to F45!

It's 45 minutes of High Intensity Interval Training and I always feel good about completing the workout when finished. The coaches are super friendly and are present during the workout to make sure that your form is good and to be available if you need any assistance. I did join F45 after the stay at home order was lifted and they do an amazing job making sure all members are socially distanced from each other. All members are required to wear masks when in the building space working out. It is extremely clean in the facility and I appreciate that especially during these times. They also offer different types of add ins like body scans which will give you in depth detail regarding your body metrics. They also have challenges that you can join where they put you on teams to help push your workout/health goals. F45 has been an amazing experience so far. I would suggest calling to book a class!

Launchpad Fitness changed my life! I have never been a big fitness/workout person, but I heard…read moreabout it through a friend and decided to try a class. The first class is free -- so why not? It was amazing! The workout is challenging but the instructors offer lots of versions of each move so you can pick the level of difficulty that's right for you. I started coming every week, and I have turned into a fitness JUNKIE. I don't recognize myself. I used to hate push ups and burpees and wall sits, but now I LOVE them. I used to have neck and shoulder pain and went to physical therapy and had to do boring exercises that I loathed. I don't have pain anymore because I have developed so much strength from going to Launchpad fitness, and it's really fun. It's a small gym so it's really about community and relationships. The instructors are really personal and caring. I see the same people in classes every week, and now they are my friends. We all cheer each other on, groan together, and support each other. The first time I missed a class after going for a few weeks in a row, Kelly sent me a message asking if I was ok. I let her know I was sick, and she offered to run to the pharmacy and get me anything if I needed it. One time, I showed up to class after a rough day, and Tamara hugged me while I cried and helped me use my work out as an emotional release. It's not just a business; it's a family. I'm not just working out; they've transformed my body and my attitude towards fitness.

I never tried the Center City or NoLibs locations since they aren't very convenient to where I live. So when I heard a brand new OTF was opening in University City, I didn't hesitate to sign up for an elite membership (8x/month). One of the best perks about OTF is their founding member rates, which lock you in at a cheaper rate if you sign up before the studio opens. Score! It's always a bit awkward getting your bearings at a new gym and learning new names and faces. But it didn't take long before I felt at home in this studio. All of the front desk staff are nice and helpful, and Angela, the head trainer, is awesome. She keeps the studio running like a well-oiled machine and it's obvious that she cares about helping people on their fitness journey. My schedule varies a bit, but it seems like I always end up in classes taught by Angela, Jenn or Mike. All three have slightly different styles but I enjoy each of their classes. And all of these trainers do a really great job managing an entire class while also offering assistance with form - something I greatly appreciate! The only thing I can think of that would make this studio better would be a hand washing station. I've seen them at fast casual restaurants. I always like to wash my hands after class since we often touch the floor. The two bathrooms in the lobby are usually occupied, especially during back to back class times, so this would be really helpful! Otherwise, I'm so happy with this OTF location and my decision to become a member.
