Hands down, the friendliest, most caring team of fitness professionals at this location. When…read morethere was an error processing my membership this team came in to make it all right again. Every time you step in to the gym at this location, one of the trainers will greet you. Every single time. They make you feel comfortable and like you belong there. And you'll always be able to speak to at least one trainer during staffed hours. You never have to wait around to speak to someone about a concern or general fitness. If you're looking to join a community made up of competent and caring individuals committed to your health, go here. The morning crowd (both trainers and gym-goers alike) is exceptionally enthusiastic and pumped! Which is helpful at 6am on a Monday morning.

I am beyond impressed with this place!…read more I moved to Calgary from Vancouver looking for a gym with flexible hours. This place offers 24hr FITNESS and TANNING. It is staffed during the day and early evenings which means you can make an appointment with a trainer, or have questions answered. Rob, the owner, is AMAZING. He really makes an effort to get to know all of the members, and is incredible at building rapport. ALL business owners could learn from him! Also, the staff is incredible. All very friendly and nonjudgmental, ready to answer questions pertaining to health at anytime. The other patrons of the gym are also very friendly. Ages range from late teens to early 70s- I never feel out of place or uncomfortable. This gym offers a variety of cardio equipment (you NEVER have to wait for a machine), has a weight circuit, a large free weight area, and a mid-size 'studio' area. Also, for those who tan, it offers one tanning bed which is NEW and LARGE. I work shift work and tend to be a night owl, sometimes THE ONLY time I have to get a work out/tan in is at 3am- this place TOTALLY meet my needs. For UNLIMITED tanning and Gym access I pay around $63.00, without the tanning it would be about $18 less- VERY REASONABLE. Also, they offer month to month plans so you don't have to sign a contract if it's not for you. I urge anyone who is considering joining a gym in the SW to stop in and take a look around, if you awesome fitness amenities don't win you over the friendly staff totally will.

Fitness Plus has the potential to be such a great gym! Unfortunately there are a few things holding it back. Things I like: Great location. Can usually find parking in the lot out front or nearby. They have a great area to work out in if you like using free weights. Lots of mirrors and equipment on the first floor. They have great classes! This is important to me...sometimes I lack motivation! If I go to a class, I know I won't be tempted to leave part way through the work out. The Ripped classes are excellent and most of the instructors are fantastic (Bonnie, Ivy, Lesley...) People who go to Fitness Plus are generally pretty friendly. There's a Second Cup next door...so you can grab a coffee and/or a snack after your workout. Things that need improvement: Cleanliness. I have noticed that the floors in the room where the classes are held is often dirty. The cardio equipment and mats are often dusty or have dried sweat on them, leading me to believe that there probably isn't a regular cleaning schedule. Kind of gross considering the amount of the people working out there. Most of the cardio equipment is very old. The exercise bikes are in rough shape as well as some of the elliptical trainers. Pedals strokes are uneven and not smooth and some of the computers don't function properly. The treadmills seem a bit better, although one of them started to smoke and emitted and electrical smell when my husband was using it last week. I've pretty much given up on using the cardio room for these reasons. The change room (ladies)... even though there are signs that say that you can't leave your stuff in the lockers overnight, its seems that many people do it anyways. This can make it tricky to find an unoccupied locker. If Fitness Plus updated their cardio equipment and did a better job at keeping the facility clean, it would be a much better gym. Until then...I am looking in to some other options in the South end of the city.

Somehow this gym has managed to find the creepiest, most unwelcoming person to head the front desk area of the gym. Not a great first impression for new and returning gym goers. He does not smile or greet members but rather has a disdainful look on his face no matter the circumstances. This same sentiment is shared among many of the other gym members that I've met here. Unfortunately, the problems do not end here. He has messaged my girlfriend on instagram numerous times despite her not responding to his advances and continues to uncomfortably stare at her, and her friends, making it an overall weird experience for them. He will also bring numerous girls to the PT section to work out despite kicking out male members in the same section. He does not exactly have the best reputation as a staff member and seems to treat the gym more like a dating site than a safe place for members to work out. I have been to many GoodLifes in Calgary as well as other cities and am disappointed in this display of unprofessionalism. You should really hold yourselves to a higher standard GoodLife Richmond.

Tried a 50 min Reformed Essential class with Megan T. Classes are $24.99 (first intro class) or $37.99 regularly. The best deal is buying a 20 session pack for $579.99. Class was fun and not too intense. Liked how the room is heated to 30 degrees. Make sure to bring your own grip socks, otherwise it's $25.00/pair.

Very disappointing experience…read more I drove 30 minutes to attend a Pilates class and arrived right at 8:30, the scheduled start time. I walked through the door literally as the clock changed from 8:29 to 8:30, but I was told I could not enter because the doors were already closed. I understand and respect a policy that says clients cannot enter if they are late, but I wasn't late. I arrived at the scheduled start time, had already completed the waiver online, and was ready to go. I was especially frustrated because the instructor walked into the classroom immediately before me, and it would have taken virtually no time to allow me in before closing the door. I had driven 30 minutes to get there, only to be turned away despite arriving on time. If the intention is that clients must be inside the studio and ready before the exact class start time, that should be clearly communicated rather than calling it a "no late entry" policy. I left feeling extremely disappointed and like my time and effort were not respected. I understand having policies, but there should also be some reasonable discretion when someone arrives exactly on time.
