Anytime Fitness feels like a complete scam. They advertise a "free pass" to try out the gym, but in…read morereality, I was required to pay $50 just to use the facility for one week. That is not a free trial by any reasonable definition. When I confronted the gym manager at the Dyer location about this misleading practice, I explained that their advertising was deceptive. Instead of addressing my concern professionally, she laughed it off, which felt disrespectful and unprofessional. After actually using the gym, I quickly realized it was not a good fit for me. The layout is poorly designed, with multiple small rooms separated from each other rather than an open, easy-to-navigate floor plan. This made the space feel cramped and confusing instead of welcoming. On top of that, the cardio machines are placed directly in front of a plain concrete block wall, which is both distracting and unattractive. It made workouts feel dull and uncomfortable rather than motivating. To make matters worse, canceling the membership was extremely difficult. Breaking the contract was a frustrating process that took far more effort than it should have. I eventually managed to cancel, and honestly, I felt relieved once it was finally over. Based on my experience, I will never return to this company and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a transparent, customer-friendly gym.

I was a member of this gym for about 6 months…read more The good- I did like the workouts. I'm not a runner and I liked that it motivated me to run. It's not like just run for 10 minutes..they have various programs and you can power walk or jog/run. The strength was on a screen and you would be at a small area and do your workouts with people very close to you. The bad- While some people think this is great, It came off to me as fake. They will remember your name but nothing else about you. It's almost like they have your picture in a back room and make the staff memorize it. That is the vibe I got. Every coach and front desk staff knew my name but couldn't remember that I'm a single mom on a very tight schedule and could only make it to the classes in the middle of the day. Which brings me to the reason I actually quit... I could only come on my lunch break and it was a struggle with traffic to get there on time. I had originally signed up as there was a 4pm class on Fridays and when my son started preschool in September I would be able to go to a class after work and then be able to pick him up by 5:30. So after racing out my door on my lunch break and racing home I was looking forward to this time slot. Once September rolled around and I could benefit from this time slot it was gone AND around that same time I showed up 6 minutes late to a class that was not full but told I couldn't go in because I was late BUT they could get me into a later class. My response was a sigh and I can't make it to a 5:30 class because I have to go pickup my 3 year old son from daycare. I had been going to the same class time for 5 months. A friend of mine who coaches at another OTF told me due to their insurance policy they can't let in anyone five minutes late or over. Icing on the cake the next week I was there and they let an extra person into the strength class so they worked in a corner when there already isn't much room. Normally, I wouldn't care but I was still bitter because apparently rules only matter to certain people. Also when I was there the a/c was out for about a week in summer - not their fault but it was pretty uncomfortable and I swear they didn't dust the fan above the corner treadmill ever. I would avoid that treadmill like the plague because I felt like dust was falling all over me. AND be weary of all the super positive reviews, one month I was there you got an extra entry in some contest if you wrote a review and showed them. Back to the good- the coaches were pleasant. I liked some personality's better than others but there was no individuality to the classes so no matter who taught it the class would be the same. I did REALLY like the heart rate monitors and felt them very motivating. Overall, if you are looking for a place to be able to get in and out and not think about your own programming and the schedule works for you, I'd recommend.

They said the 14 year old had to buy a package for kids which was $30 for 10 visits (no smaller packages just to try it out). When deciding on it when she was already with me in her workout clothes, we told the worker that she was going to sometimes come with her friend's family, so we would get it. Nothing was said about any rules against this. A month after that, I decided to cancel my membership because of several reasons (class times not convenient for a teacher. Rigid rules about teen memberships, etc). When I canceled, they called to tell me Tessa's membership would also be canceled since she has to come with me. I told them my understanding was that she just had to be with an adult. They would not budge and told me absolutely no refunds for any reason. This is very poor business. Also, their policies are so rigid...a 14-15 year old must work out with a parent. I don't know many teens that want to be glued to their parent's side when working out. Other gyms have much more flexibility. Other businesses would be more flexible with miscommunications. I'm glad we are ending our membership there.

My how Fitness Pointe has fallen in a few short years is a tragedy. The staff that once went out…read moreof their way to smile and welcome you by eagerly offering assistance are today far too busy sitting on their asses texting on their cell phones. They used to take your blood pressure by just noticing you sitting in a chair. Today, they're too lazy to get up off their asses! Don't blame Covid, that's any easy excuse and a cop out. No mouthwash in the locker room any longer! We didn't forget! Fitness Pointe did! Poor leadership that would rather blame someone for complaining about a problem person, in hopes one of them would cancel their membership so Mr Coward manager didn't have to take a stand. Missing leadership! Arrogant! Excellent at being pompous and arrogant! Then there's the therapy pool piranha and the school of disgruntled, mean followers that believe this is their own personal warm water swamp. The pool piranha feverishly splashes about from side to side hogging up three lanes is a message to everyone...I OWN THIS POOL! I COME FIRST! You must kiss the ass of the selfish pool piranha and follow it around, back and forth like a good little obedient fan. No respect for others! You can't enjoy the therapy pool alone because the pool piranha lacks attention and needs your constant validation. Then there's the employee with the strawberry blonde brush haircut that hates everyone including itself. Mean, belligerent and can easily grimace, flip you the finger or tell you to SHUT UP! Excuse me....Is one of it's tired, dated lines. When management lacks the balls to use their authority properly, you end up with sacred cow staff members, laziness and a few angered members calling the shots over the majority. Fitness Pointe isn't the best place to work out or enjoy your leisure. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! Not worth the aggravation!

First, The trainers there couldn't care less about your progress or form; they're too busy glued to their phones in the corner. Secondly, If you have any issues with the trainer and decided to take it to the manager, the manager doesnt do their proper job in rectifying the situation, there's a lack of communication amongst everyone. Nobody know's nothing. Thirdly, when you try to cancel your memebership, the manager or region manager "Jennifer Crunk" try to do a "Corporation tactic" to intimidate you. For instance, I wanted to get out on contract because I wasn't satisfied with their services. Jennifer Crunk states that shes going to turn my bill over to the "credit card bureau" to hurt my credit and then insist that I "atleast" pay half my bill to get out my contract. Dont fall of this "Corporation tactic" if you want to get out of your contract. Email them stated you want to get out your contract and dispute any charge through your bank afterward. Simple. "Trust the process." This phrase has had a significant influence on my experience in body…read morecontouring, which focuses on fat reduction and muscle development. Like many others, I have faced my share of challenges throughout this process. Achieving any goal demands dedication, hard work, and daily sacrifices. For me, it begins with rising early to walk for an hour and a half before heading to work, followed by training sessions with Bob at Heavy Metal Fitness twice a week, and additional home workouts for four more days each week. Although sticking to this routine has been challenging at times due to work and personal obligations, I have consistently observed a reduction in body fat and an increase in muscle. Alongside my training with Bob, I diligently track my macros every day under his guidance. It's worth noting that I eat more frequently throughout the day; I simply pay attention to what I consume. In the past five months, I have successfully shed more than 35 pounds and decreased my body fat by 4.5%. I can now see my obliques and abdominal muscles. Initially, I wore a size 36 in men's jeans, but I now fit into a size 32. I cannot remember the last time I wore size 32 men's jeans or have ever seen my abs. Every week, Bob monitors my progress, and recently, during a training session with him, he requested that I lift a 40lb dumbbell. Not knowing the workout, I was about to begin, he remarked, "The weight you are holding represents what you have shed over the past five months." While I take pride in this achievement, I have not yet reached my ultimate goal; however, I am confident with the training with Bob, following my macro plan and walking that I will attain it in due time. While the above mentioned is fine, the health benefits have been great. During a recent check-up with my primary care physician, my blood pressure and other test results were significantly better than what is typical for my age group. Although I am happy with my progress, the health advantages have been even better. In a recent appointment with my primary care doctor, my blood pressure and other results were considerably better than compared to what is normal for my age group. Friends and colleagues have noticed my physique and have asked me what am I doing. I always respond with the same message: "I am not special and or having amazing genetics; if you invest the time and effort, you can achieve the results you desire." I am eager to keep "trusting the process" with Bob. As a quick note, I almost never write reviews for products or services, but I felt compelled to share my experience, as I am sure many others have faced their own challenges. While I acknowledge that others may have had more favorable results, I am genuinely satisfied with my own outcomes. Thanks Bob.
