More than five years ago I used to come here about twice a week. I love the group classes and theā¦read moreteachers, I used to get a great massage in the Fitness First Spa (now gone). Occasionally I'd still come here for special events. I came today because it was the only Fitness First gym I know open on Christmas day. The last time I was here was May 2015 so let's see if anything's changed. AIR-CONDITIONING/VENTILATION I remember writing on the club's complaint form a year ago because air conditioning was very bad. So bad that a lot of people would be leaving group classes especially RPM/cycling because it gets too warm in some parts of the room. But now it's very cold that I was shivering in the locker room. EQUIPMENT The tricep rope thing that attaches to the cable machine smells! Other machines were fine. Glad to see 2 preacher curl benches (gone in FF RCBC). Not all the workout benches used for the BodyStep class have the rubber that grips the floor! While they might be safe to use for BodyPump, be careful not to use them in Step classes. Bikes for RPM/Cycling are new-ish, can't complain about them. Yoga mats didn't smell bad. CLASSES I attended Crunch's BodyAttack and Ahlee's BodyStep class. Love both classes and teachers! It was my first time with Crunch who I think is one of the manager of the club. I kinda like the class atmosphere in this club, everyone's just doing their best to workout plus they seem to be enjoying what they're doing.

My brother is a fitness monster. He has been working on his fitness routines ever since he wasā¦read morefourteen years old. Today, he's one of the fittest people I know who works out a couple of hours a day and practices Jiu Jitsu. He competes locally, wins medals, and has more plans of competing abroad. We're all very proud of him and many people admire his discipline. I'm not one who religiously goes to the gym because I like to change up my workouts and try different things. Whenever I would train at the gym, I would always try to find new workouts and try to improve my conditioning and strength. When my brother challenged me to try his gym work outs, I met his strength and conditioning coach Jay and I took on his program. In just a matter of a few months, I switched to clean eating and training with him. The results were amazing and I found myself sleeping better, up early in the morning and looking forward to the new challenge Coach Jay had for me. My body became stronger and my old injuries that were limiting my physical activities went away. I know many people find it hard and challenging to try a new routine because I was one of those people. However, I believe its a matter of finding the right coach or program that will target your specific needs and help you reach your goals. RX is one of the simplest yet most effective places you can commit to and I strongly advise those looking for any form of programs such as the following that RX offers: Clinical and corrective exercise, Athletic Performance Enhancement/Strength And Conditioning, Body Conposition Training (Fat Loss/Weight Gain), Martial Arts Strength and Conditioning, Fitness for Older Adults, Youth Strength and Conditioning. All their workouts and programs are custom designed and prescribed to your own limitations and what you want to achieve. This I think is the best way to help your body find the right balance and improve your overall condition!
There are a few gyms around the Mendiola area. Most of them offer student rates given all theā¦read morenumber of students that walk around this place. Few can match, let alone better, the services that A-Team Fitness Center. A caveat though, this ain't no Gold's Gym or Fitness First, but out of most of the gyms that you can find around this area this one gets my vote of confidence. A-Team Fitness Center has different rates, monthly, annual, and daily. Monthly or annual membership does not exclude a member from having to pay a door fee, but don't worry it's really cheap. What I like most about this gym is that they have most of the equipment I could possibly look for and they're all well maintained. The gym has free water another bonus that I don't find in other gyms around the area. Heck, this place even offers members a free towel, don't fret they're always clean and fresh from the laundromat. I also like the fact that they offer protein shakes and fat burners. Something that some people might like to get for themselves before or after their workout session. If you're a student, don't forget to bring your ID since their rates are cheaper for those attending school.
Bad customer service. Went in for inquiry about their membership and drop in rate. They have a 3dayā¦read morepass but it was not indicated that it was for a referral only. They wouldn't even let us look around the gym so how could we decide if we wanted to do a drop in. Cheapest membership is that you have to sign up for 6 months. No month to month.if you are here for vacation or a short stay I would stay away from here
Like other Anytime Fitness gyms, the Sun Residence branch is modestly equipped with the basicā¦read morefitness amenities. It has a spacious workout area. Cardio machines are a bit few in number compared to other branches but in good working condition. Restrooms and showers are clean. Parking is a bit of a problem so I wouldn't recommend it during peak hours.
False advertisement. The three day pass is only for referrals please be aware
Sterling was the first gym that I joined where I had to pay for my own membership (goodbye freeā¦read moreuniversity gym). My aunt, who teaches Zumba there, got me a pretty good deal, and I was very kindly coerced into joining (P12,000 / year). I did not regret my decision, since the facility there is quite new, and there are a lot of patrons that were friendly to newbies (me). I looked online for a few routines to start out with, and the trainers who were there gave me suggestions on how to improve my form and actually hit my goal of losing weight. Sometimes, the gym would get pretty crowded after dinner and you would wait awhile before you could use a certain machine or dumbbell / barbell weight. Despite Sterling being considered a "small" gym, I actually enjoyed going to this gym because they had clean showers and a TV to keep all the patrons updated on the latest news. Now, Sterling has a few more branches open, so I guess their business is doing quite well.
Gentrified warehouse with 3 basketball courts, a small workout area filled with new resistanceā¦read moremachines, some bumper plates and bars for calisthenics. Not the place to go if you want to sweat it out on the treadmill. They only have 2 units available. Go run around the perimeter court to get a better workout. You'll be sweating like a pig in no time (read: no air conditioning). The lack of it isn't bad at all, high ceilings provide good ventilation. I like the gritty aura of the place that makes you want to dig deeper and get those muscles to work.
I have nothing but positive remarks about FIST GYM. The atmosphere screams hard work andā¦read morededication will get you results. The coaching staff are patient and considerate. They will breakdown techniques for you and help you step by step. As a foreigner looking for a BJJ gym to continue my training I couldn't have found a better spot. This is the gym for anyone who wants to work hard. I look forward to training at FIST GYM when I go back to Manila.
Best Muay Thai gym in Metro Manila! They have a syllabus from beginners to advance. Other Muay Thaiā¦read moregyms just teach you how to do jab-straight-kick and it becomes a monotonous routine. Fist Gym trainers adhere to a set of standards that really teaches you the art of Muay Thai. Great for fitness enthusiasts and for competitive athletes as well!
After a great trading session.
Popped into 360 Fitness Club last week after a long break from working out, and man, it felt goodā¦read moreto be back! Signed up for the circuit training session and loved how it keeps everything moving--no time to get bored with those quick 30-second switches between stations. The variety is insane: one minute you're doing kettlebell swings, next it's TRX rows, then some bodyweight stuff that actually challenges you. The trainers were super encouraging without being pushy, and the vibe in the group classes is so motivating--everyone's just there grinding together. Finished with a quick Body Balance class to stretch and cool down, and I left feeling energized instead of wiped out. This place really makes fitness fun again. 5 stars, no question--I'll be back regularly now!
I never liked working out just because I find being at the gym and lifting weights so repetitiveā¦read moreand boring. I was first introduced to 360 Fitness Club about four years ago when I decided I wanted to lose weight. The journey to slimmer me wasn't easy but being at 360 made it seem less like work because the workout were actually fun. Their circuits change every quarter so I don't get bored doing the same things over and over again. Plus, group classes like suspension training, kettle bell, Body Jam, yoga, and even Zumba make going to the gym a lot less taxing. And who doesn't love options when it comes to their workouts? If you're like me, and want to take your workout a notch higher, I suggest you avail of their personal training service. Depending on your fitness goal (weight loss, toning, etc.), they have a fine number of men and women to help you out. I have my trainer to thank because these days I can lift weights I never thought I could and even climb mountains!
Everyone seems to be getting fit nowadays and I believe that there is no better way of doing itā¦read moreother than eating right and getting proper exercise. I was an active member of Elorde Boxing Gym in Don Antonio back in 2010 to 2013 and of all the sports that I've been involved to, Boxing and Muay Thai training is by far the most strenuous and most calorie-burning physical exercise for me. Elorde has definitely sweated a hell lot of fat from me! The biggest weight loss I had was with their Muay Thai and Boxing programs. For sure, you've seen a lot of Elorde branches around the metro. I've tried Lagro, Katipunan and Don Antonio branches and I can tell that all maintains quality services and facilities. All of the branches were accessible to me but I find it more comfortable and at home with the trainers in Don Antonio because they train beginners and advanced students better than the others that I've worked with. They know how to engage and motivate their students one step at a time with proper combat and martial arts discipline and eventually hardcore training! Also, the best part about Elorde training is the mandatory post work-out massage that's surely gonna pass you out. If you're looking for an indoor activity to sweat you out this coming rainy season, I suggest you try Elorde Gym. To me, it's better to be fit with skill training than weights and other gym machines.
