Sometime in the last year or so they changed equipment to a lot of Matrix gym equipment. The aerobics equipment is not very comfortable for me and I find it very difficult to program although I had no issue with the previous fitness equipment, which was very intuitive. Three separate times a few months apart I've asked employees how to program the recumbent bike because I've tried multiple times and just can't seem to get it done. The answer every time has been I don't know. They are all very nice and tried to make suggestions, but they admit upfront they don't know how to use the equipment. Equipment that's uncomfortable for me personally, difficult to set up with no help from the employees is not exactly the experience I'm looking for. I frequently use a Planet Fitness in another state with equipment that's easy to set up and employees who can provide answers.

Walking up to the little building you can tell it is a labor of love and it shows. The flowers are beautiful, and the place is tidy and well kept. The staff (I think the family that owns it) greet you with a smile and make sure you have everything that you need. Granted, the course is simple, (it was designed in the 50's) but you get to ring a bell and everyone cheers when you get a hole-in-one. You get a commemorative bumper sticker as a trophy! There is a chance to spin "The Prize Wheel" on the 19th hole. They still have one of the original obstacles (A little windmill, still working) and one of those penny grocery store mechanical horses that kids can ride for free! In an age when people require fire spitting robot pirates and exploding dragons to be entertained, it's nice to remember what it was like to go to a small amusement, run with pride, and enjoy a simple, outdoor activity, and company of people that you love.

There are bathrooms at the trailhead and also trashcans. It is a very well kept pristine property. There are not many trees so be conscientious about what season you go in. If in hotter months, you will want to be sure to be prepared. My first visit was today, we had a fresh snow. We were the only ones in the parking lot and we were breaking trail the entire morning. The snow was glistening on the hillside and sparkly snow was coming down from the sky. The views along the way were truly very beautiful. We saw a heard of antelope on our drive in to the trailhead. Also in the distance saw a herd of bison. Have heard rattlesnakes are very prominent in the area. Very beautiful and will definitely be back in the future! Maybe next time to try mountain biking.
