I always have that lingering belief I can do better, that I can get a better price. Throughout the years I have enjoyed this CPA immensely she is honest, frank and doesn't make me feel like I have to go to her every year, which I have been. Some years, I don't even talk to her I just drop off my paperwork for my taxes if I don't have any questions. When I gather my paperwork together, it is all nice and neat and in order, and I complete all the applicable other paperwork. I have a couple of rentals so my taxes probably aren't the simplest that there is. For the past 2 years I have been looking around to see what other Tax services may have to offer. I always come back to her regarding costs, reliability and convenience. Last year, during tax time I was noticing chatter on our neighborhood social site and they were talking about tax accountants, it made me cringe looking at what people were saying regarding prices and the service that they were receiving. I even did a couple of online searches looking for a Tax Accountants but to no avail. They either couldn't do it, or the prices were so much more than what I currently pay.

I am not a customer of this company, but I had a concerning experience with a repossession agent…read morethey sent to my property. The agent came to my home looking for a vehicle that was not located there. I clearly informed him that this is private property, that I am not the borrower, and that the vehicle was not present. Despite that, he spoke over me, became increasingly aggressive, and stated he would return daily. He also refused to identify himself, his company, or who he represented when asked, which raised serious concerns. There was no reason to continue the interaction once it was made clear the borrower and vehicle were not at this address. The situation felt unnecessarily confrontational and could have been handled in a more professional and respectful manner. If this reflects how repossession activity is handled, it raises concerns about the company's professionalism and training of its agents. I strongly encourage this company to ensure their agents: Clearly identify themselves Respect private property boundaries De-escalate situations rather than escalate them This experience was stressful and avoidable.

Mr. Akers then texted back and stated that he had a conflict and could we reschedule (so much for us naming the date and time). I'm also wondering when he was actually going to call us to reschedule. My thought is if the man is this unreliable just setting an appointment, how reliable is he in providing us with professional information. RUN FOR THE HILLS & DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE!…read more I will absolutely NEVER use this company, specifically Caroline, again for my taxes. As a real estate investor who has a pretty standard W2 job - I wanted an expert to help us (my fiance and I) get the most depreciation from our real estate investments and we were willing to pay the high premium for their expertise. Well boy, were we wrong. At first everything was going according to plan...until it wasn't.... Caroline stopped responding to emails and phone calls until I had to call her assistant multiple times a week to ask for follow ups as we were approaching our tax extension deadline quickly. Finally got a hold of Caroline and she started filing our taxes using all of our documents we sent her from Quickbooks - we also had a brief (under 5 minute conversation about potentially doing a Cost Seg on our new investment property and while we were on the phone, we both agreed it wouldn't be financially beneficial for us to do that this year and we would revisit next year). Then this is where it turned south quickly. Caroline and her team got all of our documents together and since they charged $3,000+ to file our taxes - I thought we would be getting money back to offset it. Well on the phone when she and her team went through the filing, she had stated "great news, we are going to end up with a $14,000 tax return"..... turns out on email the very same day the tax return went from $14,000 to $4,000 so barely enough to cover our costs to hire Jeff Baker & Associates. This was Red flag #1. It was honestly extremely unprofessional to state and get us excited on one number and then put in an email a completely separate number that was much lower. Also, she denies ever saying that number but both of us heard the number loud and clear and had written the same number ($14,000) down in our notebooks - so it just didn't appear out of thing air as she claimed. Red Flag #2 popped up quickly after we had realized that we wouldn't be getting any money back, instead we would be in the negatives this year after paying Caroline & her team. Caroline sends her invoice and what pops up.... an $1,250 additional charge for a Cost Segregation....which again we decided not to do and she mentioned she charged us that amount because we had that conversation with her and she provided expert advise. She then asked if I would consider a $350 discount on the $1,250 fee she was trying to charge us - absolutely laughable. Needless to say after the experience I had with her team by this point....we did not pay the additional $1,250 fee and only paid for the work she did for us. Unfortunately, Caroline and Jeff Baker & Associates was a referral and I didn't do as much due diligence as I should have. DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE. I would use anyone over Caroline & her team. It was an unsatisfactory experience at best and one that hurt us financially as well. We will never make that same mistake again and would never recommend this company to anyone.

Her communication was like speaking to a child. I would ask the same question repeatedly and the question would be dodged. I had my taxes submitted like 3 months late (which I totally would get if she had told me that it would happen) while I was trying to plan a wedding (which she knew) and put me in a financial situation I was not prepared for because of her poor communication. When I took this up with management then was a lot of "oh well covid 19 and what have you" I'm sorry but covid 19 didn't keep anyone from simply saying "hey we are really backed up and we are filing you an extension and expect to submit your taxes at X date we will let you know if that changes". Nope just didn't tell me even though I repeatedly asked. Then they charged me for something I didn't get any quote for the charge not to mention she just gave me bad advice over and over again that put me in the position of dealing with bureaucratic agencies I didn't need to even deal with given my businesses status and operation. This whole field unfortunately tends to work this way because the tax system is so wonky that people with complex situations need an additional degree to know how to interact with it but damn I'm putting my livelihood in your hands and you can't even reply to an email in an appropriate manner. Strong suggest you go somewhere else.
